@Shiryu no, that's so sad. (T_T )

btw, true story, I took part in one of U.S. playstation blog's most commented posts. There was a demo for a PS Vita game that was coming out but the post with the store update was late. Well, I mean, I like Grace and everything but the only thing consistent about the store update is its inconsistency, and this time it was over 24 hours late.

People went crazy!! The comments went all over the place and a lot of hateful words were spent. I stayed until 3 in the morning adding comments here and there (I even got quoted in a website (^_^ )). It was a lot of fun (except for the blog because they got a lot of hate).

And you know what was the worst thing about the experience? No one really cared about the PS Vita game demo. The game sold so-so, and the PS Vita is considered a flop in the U.S.

"Gamers", am I right?

@Wexter yeah, poor team. The thing is, it's not their fault, they just made the game Nintendo wanted them to make (and by all accounts it's not a bad game). I don't have any plans on getting it but that's only because it's not the type of Metroid game I want.

There are tons of Mario games out there, and if you like one type of Mario game that doesn't mean you have to like another type of Mario game (or that you're even the demographic for it). I think the same thing is happening here. This is a Metroid game, but not a core Metroid game. If we don't want it we don't have to play it, but we don't have to hate it either.

No one who loves Mario platformer games have ever said there shouldn't be a Mario Party game. That's just silly. I guess we need to relearn that with Metroid.

And yeah!! Lt. Noin rocks!! ໒( ♥ ◡ ♥ )७

@IceClimbers that's it? (--_-- ) hmmmm...

@Diortem Didn't you used to be on WiiUdaily? That website died hard, but I remember visiting it just to read your comments. Ah, Diortem... (pines with a girl-crush). (-. - )

btw, I just skimmed the article, so correct me if I'm wrong, but did NL mention a story mode? What's the story? As fun as a multiplayer Metroid game is, if there's no Metroid-worthy story than I'm not really interested in it.

Re: Sailor Moon Super S: Fuwa Fuwa Panic Translated To English

Utena-mobile

OMG!!! Sailor Moon!!
btw, yes, I was one of the enlightened (and chosen) ones. Not only did I totally fan over Sailor Moon, but I was known to have seen an episode or 2 of Dragon Ball Z. Later on I got into Gundam Wing too, but heck if I know what the plot of that show was.

btw, there's a Sailor Moon fighting game? Where? Gimme gimme gimme!!

lol. wow. People here love Pokemon Go. No one has banned it anywhere. The police released a couple of statements on how to play safely, and did a couple of really funny Pokemon promotional stunts and that's it.

Re: Project AM2R Gets Worthy Update Despite Nintendo Takedown Request

@FNL I do get your point. But my point was that a journalist, while reporting on an event that is either illegal or in a grey area, has a responsibility to keep some information private even if only to protect their newspaper or website from having legal charges pressed against them.

I don't get why you're upset though. I thought the article was detailed enough as it is. We got the patch notes, we got the name of the project. We got the name of the patch number. We got links to previous articles that mentioned the blog and the creator. While neither encouraging nor discouraging the reader, the article has provided enough information for us to go find it.

What happens next is completely on our shoulders (as it should be).

edit I do apologize for the name calling though. It was uncalled for and antagonistic. I'm sorry.

@FNL "The Rolling Stones have again pleaded with fans not to encourage ticket scalping as it encourages people with no intention of seeing the concert to buy tickets in large numbers with the intent of selling them at a higher markup. In the long run, this is harmful to the fans. However, there may or may not be a guy at 737 Downing St. at 10:00 pm on Friday who may or may not be selling tickets."

hoo boy. Ok. So, I totally get that these examples are not perfect but hopefully you get my point.

Re: Project AM2R Gets Worthy Update Despite Nintendo Takedown Request

Utena-mobile

@FNL except the Rolling Stone's farewell concert isn't illegal, and buying the tickets won't get you in trouble. Using your example here's a way that the Rolling Stones article could get the newspaper in trouble.

"Tickets to the Rolling Stone's farewell concert are sold out, leading some shady entrepreneurs to resell their tickets for highly marked up prices. The Rolling Stones have asked fans not to buy those tickets, but here's the phone number and email of one such person."

It's not quite the same thing, but it shows that you can report on something and still be morally (or legally) obligated to withhold at least some of the information.

@WhiteTrashGuy
The Wii never had 1:1 motion controls though (although some games came pretty close to feeling like they did).
A Wii lightsaber game could have been fun, but I bet it more likely would have felt clunky and awkward. (T_T )

I would have preferred a more polished multiplayer game like the one in Force Unleashed 2. A Star Wars Smash Bros clone would have been awesome!!

@-DEMISE-
sigh- that's ok. real life never turns out like my manga anyways. (T_T )

@VanillaLake
you mentioned that people are scared of Sammy on pushsquare. I agree. But I like Tasuki and ShogunRok so I stay on pushsquare.
Then I mentioned that I changed my avatar to Lt. Noin, because I like ShogunRok but he never noticed.

But that's the joke, because ShogunRok is using a Zechs Marquise Avatar, and Lt. Noin has a crush on Zechs, but Zechs never notices.

But now I've explained it, and it no longer works, and if ShogunRok notices this comment he's going to think I'm weird. way to go. (--_-- )

@JaxonH
psp is on a case by case basis. They run anywhere from 5 dollars to 30, but the 30 dollar ones are for new psp games, which, to this day, are still being released.

but the average for a psp game is just under 10 dollars. I know because I've bought quite a few. Not to mention that unlike Nintendo, Sony has no problem putting their own games on sale. I've seen some run for as low as 1 dollar.

ps2 on ps4 are 9.99- 14.99. But you also have to take into account that they have trophy support and most importantly, have been upscaled. Wii games are not quite as old as ps2 games, true, but are just bare bone ports with no upscaling. try playing a ps2 on ps4 game and a wii game and tell me which one looks better?

Re: AM2R Developer Encourages Players to Support Metroid II On the eShop and to Avoid 'Hate' Against Nintendo

@nab1
Nintendo's VC competitor is other console's VC. There are a lot of people willing to pay money for games. Probably more than are willing to pirate them.

@Caryslan
I don't know that I would say Nintendo's VC prices are unreasonable, but they are on the higher end of the spectrum.

gameboy: 3.99
gameboy color: 5.99
gameboy advance: 7.99

nes: 4.99
snes: 7.99
n64: 9.99

ds: 9.99
wii: 19.99

compared to Sony's
ps1: 5.99 (with only a few 9.99)
ps2: 9.99
ps2 on ps4: 9.99 to 14.99 (with trophy support and upscaled to 1080p).

some of Nintendo's prices are ok, but some, like their wii games, are not.

Re: AM2R Developer Encourages Players to Support Metroid II On the eShop and to Avoid 'Hate' Against Nintendo

Utena-mobile

@VanillaLake so... you're not going to forgive me?
(o_O )

I like it a lot (and it's still my favorite Metroid game) but I can see why people don't like it. And I also hated the 2d to 3d wiimote feature. But mostly because I think motion controls pretty much guarantee a game won't get a remaster in some future Nintendo console unless motion controls stick around forever (and I doubt that).

Like, good luck ever seeing an NX port of Skyward Sword, the poster child of motion controls. (-. - )

I actually loved both the gameplay AND the cutscenes. But tbh, I had some problems with her blood analyzing moments. I couldn't find the green spots because everything looked a little pixelly on an hd tv.

@Onion
Thank you. (^_^ ) I think I got it easier than most. A lot of metroid fans have had to wait and be disappointed for years. But as a new fan, everything feels new, and I don't have to wait years to try out another metroid game. Although, I am disappointed about how she never seems to be Nintendo's first pick for anything of late. Poor Samus.

Wow. This is still going one? I just love how passionate Nintendolife members are. (^_^ )
btw, I think it's really lame that Nintendo of America's big idea of Samus' 30th anniversary was to do absolutely nothing, take down a non-profit fan game, and "remind" everyone that we should buy Federation Force. There isn't even a Metroid sale in the eshop for crying out loud (and I am crying).

@Onion
(T_T ) I like Other M. It's the game that got me into Metroid. Since then I've bought on the 3ds and Wii U Metroid 1, 2, super, fusion, and the prime trilogy, both Samus and Zero-suit Samus amiibos and not to mention pre-ordering Samus Aran's figma that comes out this December. All thanks to Other M.

Re: AM2R Developer Encourages Players to Support Metroid II On the eShop and to Avoid 'Hate' Against Nintendo

Utena-mobile

I have supported Nintendo. I bought (and beat) Metroid 2 on my 3DS. It was fun and I liked it but I think AM2R is better in every way.

As for Nintendo being the bad guy, I never blame Nintendo for anything because they're pretty cool with a lot of things. Doujinshi, fan videos, cosplay, etc. They actively try new things, try to forge better partnerships with other developers, and aren't afraid of having a mature game (or "mature" content in their games).

Now, Nintendo of America on the other hand, loves to tell us what to like, what to do, and what to buy. It's weird how there's so much disconnect between how Nintendo acts in Japan, and what Nintendo of America does. I would bet money it was NoA that pushed for a C&D.

Re: Super Mario Adventures is Being Reprinted as a Graphic Novel

OMG!! OMG!!!
When I started getting into video games one of my friends let me borrow his Nintendo Power magazines. He had them all the way to the beginning! I remember reading some of the Mario comics. In one of them Bowser was trying to get Peach to marry him but she wasn't having any of that!
She was so assertive and fighting him every step of the way (until she got hypnotized). That was the Peach I grew up believing in!
I'm so happy they are coming back!!
