Re: The Xbox One Now Has A Nintendo 64 Emulator

Utena-mobile

@TheDavyStar lol. not for 10 dollars.

@Sanangelo89 Very few Xbox players think this way, fyi. And the same could be said for PC players, PS4 players. Heck, there are even a few Nintendo fans that complain Nintendo is just for kids.

It's true. I've seen them in the comments.

Re: Gotta Protectors Was Translated By Just One Person

Utena-mobile

This game is awesome! I really appreciate everything Brian Gray has done. I kind of wish Gotta Protectors kept its first name from the previous game (Protect me, Knight), but that's really just a nitpick from me.
If anyone has any doubts, please give it a try during a sale.
btw, if anyone owns an xbox 360, the first game is on there for about 2 dollars (I think).

Re: My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Now Available 'Indefinitely'

Utena-mobile

@Pink_Floyd
I think the Zelda one is more fun. Mostly because there's no energy limitations, or rules like you have to set pokemon.

There are no bonuses or anything it's just the puzzles, with no time limitations. So they're a lot of fun and much less stressful than the pokemon ones.

uhm... as for tips, I recommend 1) always putting an x where you know there is NOT a filled square. It sometimes helps with noticing what to do on another row and

2) work on the rows with large numbers first. If the number is large enough you can count the blocks from the left and then the right (or top and then bottom) and find out that no matter where those large numbers fit on the row, there are some squares that are always filled. Fill those and work from there.

Re: Atlus Issues Apology for SMTIV:A Translation Error

Utena-mobile

huh. I always thought the translators received a huuuuge batch file or something that contained every spoken line and description in the game and they just translated that instead of having to play through all of it.

how annoying and inefficient to have to play the game over and over to catch all of the lines. Oh well, it sucks, but I wasn't planning on getting it anyways (don't really like the designs). Hope Persona 5 is better (and not censored) because that's the one I'm excited for. (^_^ )/

Re: Talking Point: Unique and Affordable - Nintendo's NX Needs to Avoid Direct Competition With PlayStation and Xbox

Utena-mobile

Nintendo doesn't need to be the most powerful, or necessarily the cheapest. It needs 3rd party support and a lot of it.

Nintendo is one of the best developers out there but they aren't immune from making a bad game here and there, and they certainly can't carry a console all by themselves. No developer can do that.

They need 3rd party devs making good games, that can carry the NX between Nintendo games, and increase the player base. If they go it alone again, the NX will struggle the entire way.

Re: Wii U Version Of Hyper Light Drifter Is Officially Cancelled

Utena-mobile

@jrob23
His health is not doing well at all. I think this is a situation where, had things worked out better, he would have been more than willing to make a Wii U port.

but you're right. There are plenty of other developers who fit your description.

btw, Hyper Light Drifter is fantastic. It really has a lot of love put behind it.

Re: A Samus Costume Was Almost in the Wii U Axiom Verge Port

Utena-mobile

@C-Olimar Not really, because this would have been a Wii U exclusive costume. But I have an idea why they said no.

@Phin68 Bayonetta doesn't have the same type of gameplay a mario game has, so even with the costume, it's not like Bayonetta is going to steal sales from Mario games.

However, more people than not did not want Federation Force. They wanted something closer to 2d Metroid games, and Axiom Verge fills that hole quite nicely. If there was a Samus costume, you can be darn sure that would be another bigger reason to pass Federation Force for this game.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Flops on UK Debut

Utena-mobile

I love Samus and can't imagine a Metroid game where we can't play as her. People may draw comparisons with Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, saying look, this is a Mario spin-off where you don't play as Mario.

But Mario has received plenty of core games and spinoffs that literally no one is saying we don't have enough Mario games with Mario in it. Metroid doesn't have that. If Nintendo had a decent number of Samus games, put out at a reasonable rate, then everyone would be ok with Federation Force. But that's not what Nintendo did.

I'm very sad. (T_T )

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I would be more than ok with that.

@nhSnork and @AlexSora89

pfffft!
*rolls eyes in a sarcastic manner
Don't let anyone fool you, especially those who dislike Metroid Other M (which I love). Metroid, while not a huge tent-pole title series like Zelda and Mario, is not a disappointment to Nintendo.

While not on the level of Mario or Zelda sales, all Metroid games other than Zero Mission, Prime Hunters and the Prime Trilogy have sold more than 1 million. As for Japan, it's true they tend to have different tastes than the west, but most Metroid games have broken top 20 in Famitsu on release. Other M itself was top 5 when it came out.

Nintendo is waiting on Metroid for some reason, but doubt in the series is not one of them.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Favourite Mini NES Games?

Utena-mobile

With the NES being before my time, I find the games to be incredibly hard. I've never beat an NES game before, and consider them to be harder than the souls series. (T_T )

But I did vote for Metroid, Kirby, and Mario 2.

old school gamers are hardcore.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 1st September

Utena-mobile

@hYdeks Yeah, it's kind of sad how fast the Wii U died. I'm probably going to get an NX, but depending on how Nintendo announces it, I'm more than ok with waiting for NX slim or a couple of price drops. I'm done with Nintendo launch day consoles.

I would like to see:
Storage options. 32gb is not enough for the Wii U and I want to see how much NX games rely on storage space.

Launch games. Will there be a decent number of games? and what does their release schedule look like for the year.

Region Free: Fire Emblem, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Fatal Frame, and Tree House Localizations all make me wish I had the chance to choose the version that I want. Especially if the choice is between a physical or a digital copy.

Purchases tied to accounts: If something happens to my console, am I out of all of the dlc and games I bought? How many customer service hoops do I have to jump through to transfer my stuff or if it is as simple as PS4 and Xbox?

Online: If I have to pay for online, will the service be at least as decent as the Sony Network?

too many questions for now. (o_O )

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 1st September

Utena-mobile

@Danrenfroe2016 well, you have SNES VC games...

tbh, It's pretty much the dsi all over again. It's essentially the PS4 Neo and the Xbox Scorpio, only on a small scale. On one hand, it's the version that Nintendo should have made to begin with but on the other hand if they want to take full advantage of it they're going to have to split the player base.

darned if you do, darned if you don't. (o_O )

Re: Video: An Outlandish Wishlist for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Utena-mobile

@Dislikesfats lol. the video is kind of a tongue in cheek take on game mechanics that Alex and Arrekz would like to see, but most likely won't. And since other people started adding their own wishlist, I decided to add my own too. I'm not a fan of the timeline the way it exists today and feel like it restricts Nintendo more than helps.

But don't you worry, you ol worrier, you. The odds of my wish coming true are only slightly better than seeing Zelda naked, as someone above has already mentioned.

Also, I love Alex's voice. He should do more videos.

Re: The Nintendo 3DS Is Getting A New RPG Maker Game

Utena-mobile

@Peace-Boy
well, with the limitations of RPG Maker (considering it only makes sprite games), they're always going to be a kind of "chibi." However, the default, "ugly" look is only common because most people making RPG Maker games don't have the time or commitment to make custom graphics.

It's not hard to change the look, just time consuming. Although, I'm going to guess that the 3DS version won't allow us to import our own custom sprites and tiles. (T_T )

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Utena-mobile

@Lucina
lol. welp, looks like the comments have finally died down. @Shiryu can rest easy and know he won't have to be stuck with just a SNES.

It's kind of funny, but comments are kind of like a kid throwing a tantrum. It's really horrible and annoying for awhile, and then as soon as everyone tires out it kind of settles into this sleepy quiet.

Anyways, it was fun talking to you. (^_^ )/ I'm off to check out the other articles and then play some games.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Utena-mobile

@Lucina I kind of wish it was still like that. I mean, I didn't really become a gamer until the GameCube, but even then, I remember games being judged on their own merit rather than being picked apart for frame rates and resolutions.

I mean, sure, Digital Foundry is fun to watch every now and then, but I feel like it has done more harm than good by adding fuel to the console war flame. These past couple years have been really bad in regards to how fans treat each other.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Utena-mobile

@Lucina I can't imagine what gaming was like without the internet. (o_O )

But the reason people weren't mad about things was probably because they didn't know better (I'm guessing). EA was just a logo, there were no other Japanese games besides the ones that were localized, and the only gaming censorship that gamers probably knew about was Mortal Kombat's attempts to send children's souls to hell.

It must have been like the wild west!

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Utena-mobile

@Shiryu uhm... you might be right. (._ . )

Also, I don't think a lot of gamers would like my opinions. I mean, I'm a huuuuuge Other M fan, and I'm constantly being reminded how much of a poor life choice that is.

Maybe that's why even though I don't intend to buy Federation Force, I'm not outright hating it. I'm more upset that Nintendo did nothing for Samus' anniversary. I mean, she's a gaming legend. She deserves at least a miiverse post, but no, she didn't get even that.
