Re: Weirdness: Drew Barrymore Is Now Pokémon's Fashion Ambassador

But you were so good in Donnie Darko. ('- ' )
Personally, I think it's awesome. Pokemon is really huge, and even though I'm just a casual fan, I've been surprised how easy it is to bring it up and use Pokemon as a starting point to getting to know new people (worked with 2 of my coworkers).

@SnackBox
I wish. I loved playing with the sepia and brown color scheme. In my mind, that's how a retro game should look.

But jeez Nintendo. Your gameboy vc on 3ds and your n64 vc on wii u both suck. There's no reason they should look as blurry as they do.

And for everyone else who keeps saying just press "start" or whatever, that doesn't give you the same size as the original gameboy. It just gives you the same resolution, but since the 3ds has a much higher resolution, it just means you get a smaller (albeit sharper) screen.

Still buying Red though.

@japongt
ewwww, that's gross. But no, and it hasn't been for lack of trying either. I have a bunch of guys on my team... (o_O ). I kind of like Hinoka, but then I found out she was my sister, so no, definitely no. And I like Rinkah too, but I think she makes such an adorable couple with Kaze that I don't have the heart to step in.(T-T )

But I'm not very far, so I'm still keeping my hopes up that I'll find Ms. Perfect soon-ish.

@Fee
Well, I was planning on getting it, I just wasn't happy with what I was hearing. I didn't care about "petting" per se, but I wish NoA had something to replace it with instead of just taking it out, but they didn't so I wish they had left it in the game. I want more bonding to do with my allies than just fighting alongside them, and yes, I would love it if there were more dating options, and/ or chances of forming relationships/ interacting with units. That's my favorite part and it's kind of bothering me that there could have been more but instead it got censored.

However if they had taken out same-sex marriage completely I wouldn't have bothered at all since that was the first thing that attracted me to FE Fates.

But even with all that, I'm still enjoying the game. I'm not planning on buying Conquest or the 3rd chapter though, and if NoA does the same censorship thing with the next Fire Emblem I'm going to skip it. Birthright is enough for me.

I'm one of those 300,000! This game is completely blowing away my expectations (although, tbh, I wasn't sure what my expectations were to begin with).

I'm still not sure what to think about the combat. I find it hard and too stressful, and I always spend way too many turns because I'm worried I'll lose my allies. It's probably my least liked feature of the game.

But I love the drama and all of the relationship options in the game! I love everyone and there are so many cute couples that I'm always shipping people together in my head. And the story?!? Holy Crap! It's so good.
I've got so much fan fic for this game it's crazy. (^_^ )

Re: Random: Ronda Rousey "Always Wanted To Be Samus"

Utena-mobile

whoa, I think that would be cool. But I don't see Nintendo ever making a Metroid movie. Maybe she could be Samus in a future Nintendo Metroid game trailer? I would love to see her become one of Nintendo's spokespersons (maybe she could replace Reggie, lol).

And, while I admire her (and envy her killer abs), I also hope she is able to find a career outside of UFC. It's not that I'm against violence (which I am, btw) but too many athletes end up with head trauma down the road and end up having to deal with complications the rest of their lives.

Re: Talking Point: At 30 Years Old The Legend of Zelda is Well Placed to be Nintendo's Most Influential Franchise

Utena-mobile

It's kind of funny to see where the games have evolved to, but one thing that people don't really mention, is how many similarities Dark Souls has to the very first Legend of Zelda game. Especially in terms of world design, exploration, and minimalist approach to story telling. While I think Dark Souls has more in common with early King's Field games, it's hard to deny that Dark Souls isn't (in more than a few ways) the spiritual successor of the first NES Zelda game.

Re: Editorial: The Legend of Zelda Offers Youthful, Optimistic Adventures in a Generation of Mature Quests

Utena-mobile

I've purposefully avoided Witcher and plenty of other games because a lot of them go for a super dark, gritty feel, and usually feature some hugely masculine hero dripping testosterone. ugh.

Zelda on the other hand feels like an adventure and a fairy tale. And even though there's a lot of danger to the world and its inhabitants, it never loses its charm because there is a real feel to the world that it is populated by people who are "good" people, even if they end up doing something bad or questionable.

I love Hyrule and I would give anything to live in that land (if it existed). (T-T ) Can't wait for Twilight Princess.

Re: Fire Emblem Developers on How the Series Can Maintain its Momentum

Utena-mobile

ok. so I bought the game. I had to restart a couple of times because I wasn't satisfied with my hair style and color (apparently, just because it looks good in the art, doesn't mean it looks good in the character model). I'm liking it so far.

Also, even though I feel it's going to lead to a lot of tears, I'm going to play with perma-death. (T-T )

I want my first Fire Emblem experience to be as emotional as possible.

Re: Miitomo Preregistration is Now Open in 16 Countries

@Barbiegurl777
only miitomo is for iOS. Club Nintendo is going to be like accessible on several platforms, including laptops and pc's.

also, sorry about not having a phone (although it sounds like it's out of choice). My phone is free, and I've never had to pay for my own plan or minutes (unless I went over). (o_O )

Buuuuuut, I have a feeling that won't last too much longer.

Yeah, I understand why you guys are frustrated, and hopefully, you understand why I am too. It was never really about the fan service for me, but I guess I was expecting a different kind of game than what you're saying Fire Emblem is actually like. (o_O )

btw, I'm getting Birthright (I don't know if that's Hoshido or not) because that's the only one with lesbian marriages. I'm still debating if I want to play casual or not because I always cry (well, sometimes) when someone I care about in a game dies. But someone told me, perma-death is the only way to truly play a Fire Emblem game sooo...

Re: Nintendo Issues Statement Clarifying How 'Petting' Will Work in Fire Emblem Fates

Utena-mobile

@tsukipon
well... I've never played a strategy rpg game before... But I think it could be fun. The trailers made it look fun, anyways.

@DatFunkySmell
well, I already feel disappointed. I was hoping for a lot more, like I actually have to spend time getting to know her and forming a bond, and then building that relationship to the next level. That's why I wanted the mini-game to stay. It's not like I actually cared if it was a petting mini-game or filled with fan service, but at least it was something. Nintendo could have replaced it with anything! having tea together, going to a bath house, watching a sunset, having a picnic. Anything at all, but they didn't. They just removed it, and it made me feel like I was cheated out of creating a bigger emotional bond than I could have.

Re: Nintendo Issues Statement Clarifying How 'Petting' Will Work in Fire Emblem Fates

@DatFunkySmell @tsukipon
ok, I don't know what just happened or how to respond. Is it bad to want to marry another woman when Nintendo has clearly allowed same-sex marriage as an option?
(o_O )

and "undesirables?" ouch? So we decided to get the game based on the marriage feature. She didn't like the game. I may or may not. For all we know, I could become the biggest Fire Emblem fan of all time! I don't see how that makes us "undesirables."

I don't think that Family Guy or Southpark are an accurate portrayal of American Culture, but they help paint a picture of the American zeitgeist. Everything we make, Stephen Universe, Family Guy, SouthPark, Call of Duty, SpongeBob Square Pants, all of those are indicative of the American zeitgeist.

The same holds true of anime and Japanese games, only for Japan.
