It's so that Nintendo can continue to have a "Kid Friendly" appeal in the U.S.

But they forget that they've already lost the kids. Kids play either Call of Duty or mobile games.

maybe the dead zone exists with the games and not necessarily the controller. Like Resident Evil Revelations on the Wii U has a small deadzone right in the center, regardless of the controller. And it's not the only game either.

I'll be honest, I'm a little disappointed. I mean, I know, it was really only there as fan service, but I thought it was funny and mostly harmless (especially since it seemed like it was there as a joke, because you could pet anyone, regardless of gender).

I was hoping it would at least stay for whomever we decided to marry. Because, and I guess I should come out and say it, the first thing that attracted me to the game was hearing about the same-sex marriage option. I've never played a Fire Emblem game, so, in a way, yes, I am here for the romance. At least NoA didn't get rid of same-sex marriage or I would have cancelled my pre-order.

I'm still going to buy Fire Emblem, mostly to see what the hype is about, but I'm not quite as enthusiastic about it as I thought I would be (and all the recent announcements only seem to make me less excited). Sorry. I guess I'm not the type of fan the Fire Emblem community wants.

yeah, I guess I would be ok with that, as long as I have a decent pair of headphones so I don't get weird looks on the bus.

I can't wait!! definitely in the top 10 games I'm most excited for this year. Just playing through the trailers (both for the original and the HD remaster) gives me chills. I can't really think of any other Zelda game that has done such a good job with their marketing to give it such an epic feel.

oooh. interesting. but I do have some questions. For anyone who has bought wii games from the wii u vc:
when I play wii games on my wii u, everything looks so pixelly. Instead of getting nice, smooth edges, everything is all jaggy. Is this also true with wii games bought on the wii u eshop? GBA games have a "smoothing" option. does this exist for wii games too?

and what about color? I've noticed n64 games are much darker than their original versions (or even their wii eshop versions). Are wii games and wii games on wii u vc the same with color?

also, Leon has to be like the hottest RE character (followed by Jill, Ada, Sheva, and then Christ). (^_^ )/

I'm totally ok with this. Performance over anything else. I own a regular 3ds and I'm very happy with Final Fantasy Explorers, but I won't be touching Hyrule Warriors for the 3ds at all.

I love FFE so far. I found MH to be a little too hardcore for me, but this works great. Missions are just small enough to help me pass the time while I wait for my ride, or long enough to relax and have fun all afternoon if I want to.
The only thing I wish it had was more clothes and more cosmetic options (especially hairstyles). But I like how I can change my hairstyle and color whenever I want to.

can it be? could NoA really be turning over a new leaf? O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

It was and I absolutely love it! Epic story, amazing characters, a huge world, and such a good ending!! I loved it and it's still my hope that it will get a remaster for the ps4 and/or xbox1. But I've played a little bit of 6 and 7 and I want to play more. I'm a die-hard FF fan now. (^_^ )

btw, I now own FFE! Is there a way to play online with other people? I'm just getting started. I think I'm going to be a sorceress/ healer.

wow. so many negative people. a score of 7 isn't that bad, it just means it's not a game for everyone. heck, there are some games that get 9 or 10's that I have no interest in, while a few that I've loved even if they get a 5 or a 6.

btw, I'm getting this tomorrow. I love Final Fantasy XIII and I'm looking forward to getting more Final Fantasy while I'm waiting for XV. Also, I'm glad it's kind of a "beginner" monster hunter. I've played monster hunter and, while I had a lot of fun, it was waaaay too complicated for me. Plus, I can now play alongside Lightning. (^_^ )

Now, to decide my class. should I go dark knight or sorceress? Hmmmmm...

put more trees, some places to hide and leap onto on the castle and some small buildings for cover on the ground around the trees and you have a pretty decent sniper map with one team spawning near the pipe and the other on the castle.

I was already gritting my teeth when I pressed play but it turned out way better than I thought. If pokemon were real, I would definitely be out there as a trainer (beats getting a job at the mall).

I only play smash with my friends. But that's it. With my sister gone, I don't have anyone to play co-op games with locally, so I can't say I'm bothered if it goes or stays.

Yikes. I'm not sure why you both feel this way, but I think these videos are great. I get to learn more about the games, which help with deciding if I want to buy the game or not, and they're pretty funny too.

and yes, I'm totally excited for Twilight Princess!! Definitely one of my most anticipated games for this year. (^_^ )/

it's not just Bayonetta though. Nintendo (especially Nintendo of America) has always had a problem with marketing games that weren't 1st party games.

I mean even Xenoblade Chronicles, which was their only big game this last Christmas, barely got any marketing outside of a few trailers online and a pic on the eShop.

I bought my Wii U just to play Bayonetta 1 and 2. I thought she looked awesome and felt like she was the start of a newer, more experimental Nintendo. The game is amazing and I wasn't disappointed.

and I think she's pretty empowering. I mean, she kills angels, demons, and gods, and she does it all with gun stilettos. I would love to see anyone try to even jump in high heels, let alone try to fight.

so I took a look at the game on youtube. It looks very... interesting... kind of freaky actually. But I like the designs and I don't know who she is, but the main character looks cool. I'll pick up a Wii U eshop card tomorrow. Thanks.

oh, yeah, I totally agree. But it's hard to be angry with Nintendo of America this week because it's been a long time since we've had a decent VC game and a sale with decent games (even if the discounts aren't that great).
btw, did you pick up the 2 free DoA costumes?

I actually bought my Wii U just for Bayonetta, because when I first read about her she looked awesome, confident, and a strong woman that don't need no man!
Good thing I did too, because she really is all of those, and the game is incredibly fun (one of my favorite games of all time). As soon as Bayonetta releases on Smash, she's going to be my main.

OMG!!! About time! I bet Tatsumi Kimishima took a look at NoA and finally yelled at Reggie and the rest of the NoA crew to do their job. Just kidding. But not really.

Tatsumi Kimishima was president of NoA during the Gamecube years. Many people think that the Gamecube was a failure (and maybe it was), but it has also been Nintendo's best console to date when it comes to 3rd party support. Holy Crap did the Cube have a ton of 3rd party games! So much so, it makes the Wii U look like... well, the Wii U.

Hopefully this is the start to an excellent Nintendo year (and the swan song that the Wii U deserves).

roflol. hurt the VR industry? as someone said before, what VR industry? Virtual Boy was a weird anomaly and nothing more.

and today? lol. who talks about the Virtual Boy like it's even a thing anymore? Most gamers (and practically every non-gamer) don't even know what a Virtual Boy is, let alone have it change their opinion on Oculus and Playstion VR.

But I think this is going to be another Kinect. Awesome at first, and then completely underwhelming when you realize most games are little more than tech demos or super gimicky. Now, next gen? I think it stands a better chance and might become something big with PS5 and XB2.

you know, if you combine 3ds and Wii U, Nintendo actually has a very good lineup. Especially for RPG fans. Maybe they're really on to something with the (rumored) NX console-handheld hybrid.

I bet if we never would have heard about Lin's change and the boob slider, no one would have freaked out.

This is so dumb. This shouldn't even be an issue. The bigger problem is NoA's treatment of Fatal Frame. Personally, I'm glad Lin got a wardrobe change, but I kind of wish I could have made my bust a little smaller. lol. So it's about 50/50.
If you're so upset over this then, again, localization isn't the issue. Might I suggest getting mad over the fact that Nintendo region locks their consoles?

I still play gameboy games on my gameboy advance sp, and by far the best way to play them is with the "brown and tan" color pallet. It makes the game feel even more delightfully retro.
And I would love to play gameboy type games on an hd tv, but I want stories and characters I can love like Zelda: Link's Awakening, and the early Final Fantasy games.

This is the year where I seriously considered giving up on Nintendo's console approach. I mean, I still love my 3ds, and I have a ton of good JRPG's for it, plus some Zelda games, and Pokemon. I love it and I'm definitely picking up the next version of the 3ds.

But this was also the year where Zelda Wii U was delayed. Star Fox was delayed. SMT x FE delayed. That guy who was fired from Nintendo Treehouse showed the true state of NoA's localization efforts, digital only version of Fatal Frame, no marketing for Devil's Third (not that I care about that game, but it IS a game during a game drought) and next to no marketing for Xenoblade Chronicles X. This is also the year where NoA gave up on decent Virtual Console games for 3ds and Wii U, and Amiibo became a hard to find collector's item (still looking for Lucina).

I don't want to sound ungrateful, because it's true, Nintendo doesn't owe me anything. But if I'm complaining it's because I feel like Nintendo is so much better than what they've been of late. I'm going to see if NX is region free, but if not then just Nintendo handhelds for me.

btw, Splatoon and Xenoblade Chronicles is amazing.

actually, I'm editing my review. I'm not disappointed with Nintendo. I love Nintendo. I'm disappointed with Nintendo of America.

I bet if we had the people who run NoA today back during Pokemon's release they would have said "nope!" and we would have been left in the cold, looking enviously at Europe, Japan and Asia.
