Re: Turns Out The Guy Behind Final Fantasy Loves Fire Emblem Too

Utena-mobile

@KO-Cub I thought Square Enix already had their own Tactics game. Final Fantasy Tactics? And you may buy it on the Nintendo store... right now!

and for all of the haters. Are you kidding me? the relationships is one of the best things about Fire Emblem. I absolutely love Birthright! I tried playing some of the really old FE games and they've aged. They're hard, and the characters seem kind of dry. But FE Birthright has amazing characters. Literally everyone can play the game and find at least one person they like.

Re: Feature: A Summary of Nintendo's Key Announcements on NX, E3 and Mobile

Utena-mobile

can't say I'm thrilled with their E3 plans, but the more I think about it, the more I'm ok with NX being pushed to next year. I think it's the smarter thing to do to ensure having a strong lineup and not having to compete with the PSNeo (and maybe an Xbox1.5). I'm still partly convinced the Neo will split the fanbase and get a lot of bad publicity.

Re: Reaction: The NX Release in March 2017 and How It Changes the Game

Utena-mobile

I think Nintendo is doing 2 things. They're trying to build a decent collection of launch games to go with NX, and they're waiting to see if Sony and MS shoot themselves in the foot with their half-step console upgrades.

Also, maybe they're waiting to see how powerful the Neo and Xb1nextgen are going to be so they don't deliver an underpowered console again.

But the Wii U is practically dead right now. The only thing I can think of for Nintendo to do is push out a few remasters to tide fans over, but Wii U AAA games are over.

Re: Shake-Up to Nintendo Board Brings New Job Titles for Reggie Fils-Aime and Satoru Shibata

@JaxonH truer words have never been spoken. NoA also needs to find out what the heck they are doing with their localizations.

@StuOhQ Hardly. Nintendo is a Japanese Company located in Japan. Not only that, but they are a Kyoto Company meaning they adhere to a very Japanese Corporate ethos and philosophy, hence the saying "Kyoto is more Japanese than Japan". Why would they place Westerners (particularly Americans) anywhere near the top?

Re: Review: Witch & Hero 2 (3DS eShop)

Utena-mobile

Are you sure we played the same game? Because I loved Witch & Hero. It's not trying to do anything fancy, but the game is fun and addictive and up there as a great casual game along with Angry Birds and Flappy Bird. (o_O )

I'm definitely buying Witch & Hero 2. Love love love the first one.

Re: Viewer Discretion Is Advised With This Superb Game Of Thrones And Zelda Mash-Up

Utena-mobile

@1nightinthepit @Lilith93 for a lot of people, some works (like books, video games, or movies) provide a lot of inspiration, fun, and a sense of community. Being able to bond with others over like-minded interests is a huge part of being a fan of something, and when you feel like a fandom has given you so much, you sometimes want to return the favor by taking time and effort to create something other fans will like and enjoy. Or at least I think so, when it comes to my own fanart.

Imo, I thought this was pretty funny (although very shocking). There were some parts I didn't like but Impa spitting and Zelda's family painting won me over. lol.

And wow, Gandondorf is one sexy Gerudo in this version.

Re: Feature: How One Man Saved Kyoto - And Video Games - From The Atomic Bomb

Utena-mobile

What horrible news. I don't care what people say, the Atomic Bombs were not justified in their use. Sure, maybe they were better than the alternative "to our interests" but there were other ways to use them than to bomb two large cities made up of mostly civilians.

If we wanted to show the ultimate might of the Atomic Bomb, dropping it off the coast, or having it detonate in the air, would have been just as effective. But no, we're "heroes" for "saving lives" by targeting cities. I guess it's true what they say, "history is written by the victors."

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors Legends (New 3DS / 3DS)

@Damo
This is very important, so I hope you read this and pass this info along to the important people.
The last couple of days have seen plenty of rumors about a playstation 4.5 and an upgrade-able xbone. many of the worries about consoles following a smartphone business model centers around the console base being split over those who have the original vanilla model, or the new, improved model, and if this means vanilla owners will end up with noticeably inferior games.

Well, we don't have to guess what that would look like, we have the New 3ds as a good example. I think if the console base is split like this, game reviewers owe it to gamers to let them know exactly what kind of a situation we're getting into (journalistic integrity and all that).

There should be 2 review scores. One for the New 3ds (which is 7, I guess), and another review score for those who have the vanilla 3ds. If a PS4.5 and Xb1a,b,c etc do get made, this is the reality we face. (T-T )

Re: Poll: Are You Ready to Download More of Your Retail Games From the eShop?

Utena-mobile

I feel like their should have been a few more options or questions to the survey.

about 60-70% of my games on playstation and xbox are digital (except for Vita because I love how tiny the cartridges are) and I'm totally willing to buy more digital games.

But Nintendo has a 32 gb hard drive, with digital games tied to consoles instead of accounts. No way am I going to buy retail games for the Wii U! Forget that. Fatal Frame is 14 gb or so. That means that if it was an Xbone game it would be a 250 gb game install!!

Nintendo, make a console digital friendly and then I'll consider it.
