Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link

Utena-mobile

While I do want to play as Linkelle, and think it's totally possible for Link to be reincarnated as a girl, this isn't pointing towards that. Both of them are from two concept art pieces from the game. If they appear a little different, it's because gasp games usually have a team of artists working on it instead of just one person, and even if it was the same person, the art doesn't always look the same.

Nintendo may still make gender choice happen, but this Lanyard isn't telling us anything. (T_T )

Re: Video: Learn a Bit More About Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE and Its Dungeons

Utena-mobile

I was super excited about this game and had the fortissimo version pre-ordered, but then I found out about NoA having the developers redo some of the scenes.

I'm ok with the new "censored" costumes, but I'm disappointed with the changes to the script and dungeon. Especially since I love Persona 4 and feel Atlus should have been given the go-ahead to do anything they wanted.

Still going to buy the game (as long as it doesn't become super rare and expensive) but I'm ok with not getting it day 1 (I moved my pre-order to FF XV). (o_O )

Re: Video: Five Super Mario 64 Secrets You May Have Missed - Part One

I know about the baby penguin one! and yes, the first time I found out my ovaries did burst.

There's also a baby penguin that doesn't belong to the mommy penguin in that level. When I was little I would always take the orphan baby penguin to the mom before the real baby because I couldn't stand the idea of a cute penguin growing up alone in the level. In my head canon the mommy penguin adopted the orphan baby and the two grew up together as siblings.

I remember I would do this every time, regardless of what star I was trying to get in the level.

Re: Review: 8Bit Hero (Wii U eShop)

Utena-mobile

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Thanks!! It looks pretty cute. I'm seeing some weird hit-detection going on though, like you can swing your sword, but if you're not properly aligned, you'll miss completely. would have been better if the sword swing was in an arc and had a bigger hit box. But I might pick it up in a sale. (^_^ )

@Rumorlife You didn't like it because you were probably looking for a "game" game. It's more like a mobile game that would be comfortable next to candy crush and flappy bird. If you're looking for a fun way to kill time while waiting for someone, or just to mess around with with friends, Witch & Hero is a lot of fun, with some really solid gameplay. I have both of them, and they rank a lot higher than most indie games on the eShop.

no video? (T_T )
It looks cute, and I remember Witch and Hero got a bad review and I loved that game. So anything that could show me more about the gameplay and its faults would be appreciated because, it could be a game I would like. (^_^ )

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Is Coming to the West

Utena-mobile

@YouSeemFRAZZLED There's been a few. I've read one of them. It was... pirated!! and no, I'm not talking about Doujinshi, this was legit.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE How is Zelda not Nintendo related? (o_O )

btw, I'm super excited for this. Although it probably won't be canon. I remember getting into all sorts of arguments over Zelda changing her gender with magic because that is what happened in the manga. But I guess that's not what actually happened. Go figure. (o_O )

OMG!! I love the Gerudo! I agree with @Tsurii though. Has a little too much heatwaves. While I think a full Nintendo remake of Ocarina of Time will be a lot more polished and have a more realized art design, this is a very good peek at what a future Ocarina of Time would look like. I hope whoever made this eventually gets a job doing this because they have a lot of talent.

Re: Video: Nintendo Aims to Get Down With the Kids in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Series

Utena-mobile

@Wexter I just looked up a few. yeah, I like most of the western designs too. I think they're better looking and have a lot more thought behind them than a bikini. I'm not sure how I feel about the dungeon being edited to not have swimsuit models though. This is a persona game, right? Persona games have always explored pretty deep social and psychological issues, and gravure swimsuit shots are something worth exploring.

I feel like it's kind of like the Xenoblade X censorship. I am totally for changing Lin's age and changing some of her clothes, but ugh, why go with such an ugly design? You win some, you lose some, I suppose.

Fire Emblem should have kept its mini game though, imo.

Re: Video: Nintendo Aims to Get Down With the Kids in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Series

Utena-mobile

*sigh
seems like Nintendo of America is at it again. I heard about the swimsuit dlc, which annoys the crap out of me. But at least it's not really taking anything from the gameplay.
Fire Emblem was worse because they DID take away some gameplay (among other things).

But the trailer looks like a lot of fun, and I did end up loving Birthright a lot...
I'll still buy the game. (o_O )

lol. roflol. omg. omg. I can't stop laughing. lolololololol
(^. ^ )
People are complaining about the video? I think this says more of when certain people started playing games because I didn't think this sounded weird at all. It sounded normal and like a lot of the videos I see on youtube.

you want cringe-worthy? go look up 80's and 90's commercials. I still don't know how anyone sold anything back then. roflol.

Re: Soapbox: How The Evolution Of Pokémon Can Unexpectedly Influence Play-Through Experiences

Utena-mobile

@Maxz and @Ogbert
ok. fair enough. I take back what I said. I was commenting more from personal experience and my experience has been that, overwhelmingly, guy gamers have been far more competitive, sometimes to the detriment of others. And it hasn't been just IV leveling, it's been speedruns, trophies, kills etc.

But I've never been to a tournament so my experience is limited. I've since looked up some more info on Pokemon competitive play. While I still don't think it's for me, it seems more balanced and friendly than a lot of other competitive gaming. So I apologize.

Re: Soapbox: How The Evolution Of Pokémon Can Unexpectedly Influence Play-Through Experiences

Utena-mobile

sheesh. guys can be so competitive with their games. If it's not IV leveling, it's trophy/achievement hunting, or getting prestige or whatever. It's just too much testosterone fueled chest-beating and it's not fun playing with people like that.

I only catch cute or cool pokemon, regardless of their moves or stats (I do care about personaltiy and gender though) and have a lot of fun on wonder trade and battling and trading with friends.

Re: Lynn and the Spirits of Inao Has Been Cancelled

Utena-mobile

so, aside from the usual comment on how they should have paid their interns..

wow. uhm... I don't know how to feel about this game. On one hand it looked very cool. But on the other, this seems like it's straddling the line of homage and "borrowing" pretty hard. Not only are many of the settings very Studio Ghibli "inspired" but even the music has some refrains that are too close to some of Studio Ghibli's soundtracks. And a pretty noticeable one that practically lifts Princess Mononoke in there that kept taking me out of the experience.

Re: Meet The Edgy And Mature Fan-Made Pokémon Game That Aims To "Fix" The Series

Utena-mobile

@allav866
well, it's not that it's special, or doing anything unique. anyone with rpg maker and a love of Pokemon can make a Pokemon game. but very few ever bother finishing their games or even going past the concept phase.

So websites like to report on works that show promise, or have been completed because not only can they be enjoyed and appreciated by other fans (opinions may vary) but compared to the unfinished projects, are actually kind of rare.

Re: Style Savvy: Fashion Forward Will Finally Bring Its Glamour to North America in August

Utena-mobile

OMG!!! I had actually given up on this title, and figured that NoA would never bother localizing it. Thank you so much!! I take back everything I've said about you this past year! For everyone who hasn't played Style Savvy, you should give it a try. It's really fun and addicting.

I'm going to pre-order this first thing on Friday.
Style Savvy, Pokemon Moon, and 7th Dragon! Looks like another good year for 3ds. (^_^ )/

AND it's not even E3 yet.
