Yes, I was waiting for this review! I’m bummed about the performance issues, but if it’s similar to Persona 5 Strikers then I’ll probably still get it on switch.
I have a theater competition this weekend so probably not a lot of gaming going on, but hopefully I’ll be able to get some Persona 4 Golden in when I can. I’m going through the 3rd dungeon right now and it’s definitely…interesting.
Fire Emblem Fates (Birthright)! I'm getting really close to the end so I want to finish it this weekend since it won't be busy for me. After Birthright I want to move into either Revelation or Conquest next. I'm leaning towards Conquest but I kind of suck at Fire Emblem so who knows.
I'll generally play platformers like the Azure Striker Gunvolt series or play a few rounds of Smash Bros Ultimate after I go through another lengthy JRPG.
@DogDetective Yes, they mentioned in an interview recently that there will be differences in the plot with each NG+. I'm not sure what this means yet but it's definitely interesting.
Maybe like a 7/10. It wasn’t amazing tbh, but I am thrilled about the Paper Mario remake, and the new Vanillaware game looks interesting though I’m not entirely sold on the name (Unicorn Overlord??). All in all, a semi-decent direct held together with a few interesting games.
I have kind of a busy weekend, so probably not much gaming for me, unfortunately. When I'm free I'm probably going to try and sneak in some Octopath Traveler II and see if I can get some grinding in. Almost done with my initial four traveler's stories (Partitio, Angea, Hikari, Castii) so I'm excited to finally be moving on to the other four somewhat soon.
It wasn’t mentioned on the list, but my September purchase will most likely be Fate/Samurai Remnant, it looks pretty awesome. Dragon Quest also looks interesting (watched about half of the anime when it was airing a couple of years back) but I dunno if l I’ll be grabbing it for awhile.
Haven't even done all the sage quests yet. I've gotten a decent amount of shrines, but a big chunk of my playtime goes to looking for armor and doing random sidequests.
Going through the end (I assume, it's hard to tell with these games) of Chapter 4 in Trails of Cold Steel 3. Been waiting for a chance to play through it (since they're all insanely long) and figured today was a good day for it.
This morning I played a little bit of Tears of The Kingdom, but today I’ve been really focusing on Final Fantasy XV on PS4. I’m at the final dungeon, but I went back to grind for a little bit. Took advantage of the Maagho Lasagna benefits (100% exp bonus) and fought the FFXIV event boss Garuda over and over again until I was satisfied. Started at 54, ended at 95, so now I’m working on grabbing the Ultima Weapon before I finish up.
I've still been playing off and on for the last couple of weeks though. I just finished my second temple (I've been busy exploring okay?) and I'm working on armor upgrades atm. But honestly? It's been hard to just continue playing for long periods of time. I've also been working on games I started before TotK like Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 4 Golden, so balancing has been...difficult.
Persona all the way this weekend. Playing some Persona 5 Strikers, I'm up to the third jail and really enjoying it so far! It's definitely a different game than Persona 5 Royal, but it's been really fun figuring out combos and spending more time with the cast. I'm also going through Persona 4, but at a much slower pace since I mostly want to focus on Strikers.
A little TotK, but not much. I'm starting to feel worn down by all the content, so I'm planning on giving it a little time before coming back. In other news, I've started my third playthrough for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (got the urge after playing Future Redeemed) and also working on the second Jail in Persona 5 Strikers.
Having recently beat Persona 5 Royal, I'm working on Strikers at the moment. I also bought Persona 4 and 3 since they were on sale so if I get bored of the gameplay I might start 4 up. Or, y'know, might just begin my NG+
Playing some Persona 5 Royal this weekend. I'm about halfway through November and the game's been really picking up steam. Really excited to see where it goes from here. If I feel like I need to take a break, I purchased the Ace Attorney games on 3Ds last week so I might take a crack at those too.
I probably will, it’s been so long that at this point I don’t really care. It’s a bit annoying but again, it’s not too big of a deal. I just hope this doesn’t set the standard from now on if it actually is $70.
Honestly I just want some more information on ToTK and the Xenoblade 3 DLC. What would be nice is some information on the Dragon Quest III remake and Dragon Quest XII but I don't think we'll hear about it here. I think it would also be cool if we got a remake or port of Fate/stay night (realta nua preferably) but I highly doubt that would ever happen.
Still Fire Emblem, but I finally beat Tales of Xillia 2 the other day after going back and forth for about a year. Going back to it after playing Arise made me remember how much I enjoyed the Xillia combat, it feels so good to string together combos in that game.
Fire Emblem Engage of course. Just hit chapter 8 and have been loving every second of the game. I'm also playing Persona 4 Golden on GamePass but haven't really gotten too far since I've been dedicated to FE this weekend.
As much as I loved the social aspects in Awakening and Fates I’m really glad they’ve been toned down from Three Houses. There was just so much in that one that I didn’t really feel like I was playing Fire Emblem most of the time, just teacher/tea simulator. Already preordered Engage so can’t wait for some classic FE gameplay on the 20th!
Aside from some 3ds games I bought when I was a kid (Pokemon, Yo-kai Watch, Bravely Default, etc.), I'm mainly digital. It's just much handier for me to just switch through a home screen than to keep a bunch of cases with me when I want to play something else. I only own 2 switch games physically, Xenoblade 3 (bought the special edition) and Persona 5 Royal (it was on sale at GameStop for like $30).
And I still need to play through the rest of Cold Steel (middle of III), Sky (only played the first one), and the Crossbell Arc (haven't even started there). I love what I've played in this series but hoo boy is it an investment.
It's the end of an era. Growing up with Pokemon, like many others, it's weird to think Ash is heading out of the series. Sure, people have been clamoring for a new protagonist forever, but it still feels weird to replace a protagonist in a series that's been going on for 25 years. It's like replacing Monkey D. Luffy as the protagonist for One Piece, or Mario, Samus, and Link as the protagonists for their games. Pretty bizarre but hopefully these new protagonists are good.
I'm actually very excited about this. I played the 1st one on WiiU a few years back but never beat it. Really glad it's coming to switch so I can try it again.
For 3DS, a bit of Fire Emblem Fates, and I picked up Mario and Luigi Dream Team (I played it a lot as a kid and thus wanted to pick it up before the eshop closes) this week so probably that as well. For Switch, I hopped into Splatoon 3 for a bit only to get my butt kicked in Online, and then a bit more Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna the Golden Country for the pollen orb sidequest.
@Expa0 I'd say that the music gets better as you progress, but unfortunately, it really is just a select number of tracks that are really good. The rest are kind of mediocre at best if I'm remembering correctly.
Had a crazy week so planning to unwind by playing some Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country (never finished all the sidequests so now's the time), Fire Emblem Fates (picking up the DLC before the shop closes), and watching some anime (One Piece, Magi, and Attack on Titan)
I ended up grabbing Persona 5 Royal for switch even though I wasn't planning on it (was going to beat it on ps4 first) but it was on sale at GameStop for like $30 so I caved and grabbed it. Enjoying going through it again, the DLC makes it a lot faster this time around.
Probably a bit of grinding on Xenoblade 3 (and a bit of 2) primarily, with Yo-Kai Watch 2 on 3DS. On PS4, still working away on Trails of Cold Steel III and Persona 5 Royal, slowly but surely.
Primarily Trails of Cold Steel 3 some more, finally hitting the point where things seem to pick up in action so I'm excited. At first, I was worried because it was similar to 1 in pacing but it's speeding up now luckily. Also a bit of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, as I'm finally back in the mood to punch robots with other robots. I haven't picked up Persona 5 Royal on switch yet, but that's because I haven't beaten it on PS4 yet and I wanted to do that before double-dipping.
Very cool, I may pick this up. I've always been interested in the Suikoden series ever since I randomly picked up the Suikoden III manga as a kid, but never took the plunge. Better late than never I suppose.
Those look great, but I'm probably just going to get the regular edition, unfortunately. Do we know if all the DLC is included with the regular game or just the special edition?
I bought the first one but never got very far. I'd like to give it another try but unfortunately, Xenoblade 3's still running my life. I gotta stop buying lengthy JRPGs...
A bit of Splatoon 3 but otherwise not much on Switch, just a little bit of grinding and questing in Xenoblade 3. On 3ds I'm still going through the DLC paralogues for Awakening and on PS4, hopefully, a bit more Persona 5 Royal, I just sent the calling card for the 5th palace so I may go and run through that as well.
I beat Xenoblade 3 last weekend, but I'm still working on Hero Quests and maxing out classes. I also picked up all the Fire Emblem Awakening DLC the other day so I might play a few maps later today. On PS4, I'm continuing my Persona 5 Royal playthrough after taking a break for a while.
Primarily Xenoblade 3, I'm in the last stretch so I'll be focusing on that today, though I did get a bit further in Trails of Cold Steel III the other day so I might be playing a bit of that as well. I also plan to pick up the DLC for Fire Emblem Awakening, so here's hoping I can add funds through my Switch Account and it'll let me buy those.
Some more Xenoblade 3 for me, haven't completed it yet but I'm on the last chapter. Just finishing up some last-minute quests before finishing it up. I've also been trying to get through Trails of Cold Steel III some more, but it's been a struggle. The pacing's similar to the 1st game, and that's not ideal. On 3DS, I've been going through FE Fates (Birthright Route) and steadily making my way to the end. I need to pick up the DLC for both Fates and Awakening, and that's my plan after beating Fates.
Sweet! Grew up on Avatar and it's easily one of my favorite TV shows so definitely excited to see what this could be, hopefully it's real, and if it is, a decent game in it's own right.
Gah...I've been looking forward to this game for so long, but I'm going to have to put a hold on buying it right now, due to Xenoblade 3's release. The Gunvolt games are all really good and I want to focus on it so I'll have to pick this game up sometime after playing through Xenoblade 3
