Re: Poll: Have You Had Issues With The Ethernet Port On Switch 2's Dock?

TheFatPlumber

Yes. A few weeks after launch of Switch 2 we had a brief power cut and the ethernet stopped working. After sending my brand new console back to Nintendo for repair, it was found that the ethernet circuity fried in a surge of power once it came back on.

Makes me nervous of when another inevitably happens.

EDIT: They were plugged into a surge protector, like every other piece of electronics I have are, and it still happened. And the surge protector is still fine, it hasn't stopped protecting.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

@Toastmaster
Feel free to believe whatever you want but do some research and know what you're talking about before before you call someone a liar.

"There [were] numerous projects that were put forward that I believe would have been huge hits, but MS rejected them one after the other. I remember seeing a couple of prototypes that Chris Seavor had designed and was working on, that looked amazing, but alas they got shelved. It seemed that MS didn’t want to take the risk in Rare doing anything outside the younger demographic, they quickly forgot the companies heritage. We started to lose a lot of great talent then, people were losing job satisfaction, so they just left." - Don Murphy; artist, designer of Rare

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

@Toastmaster A-HAHAHAHA! The fact is Rare wanted to make a few sequels to their games after Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct being one of them. But MS kept turning them down, in fact they turned down pretty much everything Rare pitched and instead put them to work on Avatars and Kinect games no-one asked for or really wanted. They've only been let loose since the XB1 era with SoT and that's after most of the talent who made the games which made Rare left.

I think you need to get your facts straight and do some research before you comment total rubbish.

Re: Don't Expect Any More Miniature Consoles From Sega

TheFatPlumber

The trouble is with these CEO's is that they're usually way out of touch with what us gamers want. 'He' wants to embrace the modern and he has stated that 'it isn't him' - what he want doesn't translate to what the community wants and ignoring your heritage and retro titles will only madden gamers who'll only ask for the mini consoles more. He's alienating an entire demograph which won't end well. Again, its not what he wants, its also wants Sega Japan says so he may well eat his words yet.

And using those excuses to push the agenda of yet another subscription service? Yeah, best of luck with that one. There's for too many as it is.

Re: Soapbox: Paper Mario: Sticker Star Was When The Series Came Unstuck

TheFatPlumber

See I actually enjoyed this and to me, after Sticker Star is where is all went downhill. Colour Splash and Origami King are by far the worst of the two. I've started both and finished neither because they're just not fun to play. Yeah the humour is there but the combat is atrocious and kills the games.

And I had such high hopes for Origami King too...
