While Metroid Dread is now a few weeks old, the amiibo that were intended to accompany its launch were unfortunately delayed in the UK and Europe, which means we've had to wait a little longer to get our grubby hands on them.
The good news, as you can see from the images on this very page, is that they're rather fetching. We particularly like the design of the Samus amiiibo, and the way in which the base is furnished with the iconic 'Screw Attack' emblem which has since become the series' logo. The sinister E.M.M.I. amiibo is impressive, too, and looms over Samus just as it so often does in the game itself. Oo-er.
Did you get your Metroid Dread amiibo this week? If so, let us know what you think with a comment below. If you've yet to take the plunge, then check out our guide on where to buy them.

I bought them in the US along with the Special Edition. Both are really nice!
Arrived on Wednesday. They look very nice, but they are still in packaging at the moment.
I NEED THEM SO BAD
Got mine but now i've already 100% completed the game on hard mode so i've little use for the amiibo set. Will likely keep it boxed up so it's value rises over the years
Got mine this evening. They do look rather nice, no question. Pleased to have them.
I usually throw away the packaging, but not the cardboard that shows the character, I want to make a poster out of those. My second hand Metroid: Samus Returns duo is the exception, that was open from below when I bought it so they're in their package when not in use. I want to do the same for the Metroid Dread duo when/if I get it.
I got mine 3 days ago and I'm so happy with how they look Better late than never!
They're wonderful, as most amiibo are, but it makes me legit mad that our options for a ton of Nintendo characters (like Samus) are tiny $12 amiibo, $100-$250 Figmas (none of which are in production anymore), or $1200 F4F statues.
I'd happily pay $20-40 for 6', nicely detailed, posable Metroid figures from anyone other than Jakks.
Mine actually arrived last weekend. And they're lovely too!
Got mine today. They're gorgeous.
Man they really should add these as costumes in smash.
Nintendo can earn alot if they put it as DLC.
Things like detective pikachu, samus new costume, more costumes for link, mario etc etc.
Got mine today. They look great, happy to add them to my collection!
It's incredible expensive in Brazil, almost 3 times the game itself (in the cheapest seller). No way I'll get it. If Nintendo bring amiibos here with a fair price (same relation between games/amiibos in other places) I may start collecting them.
Got mine today as well. They released today on Germany
It looks nice and even with an EMMI. My brother gave me a Shulk Amiibo and it means a lot. I'm waiting to get the eventual Pyra/Mythra Amiibo
EMMI for smash
Got the amiibo but still not got the game. Amiibo look nice though.
Mine didn't arrive until after I beat the game, but it sure is nice starting over again on hard with an extra energy tank.
Now that I have all 8 Metroid themed Amiibos, I've gotta say, they really compliment each other well. Ridley and E.M.M.I. take up about equal space, with their claws featured prominently in opposing directions, as well as Dread Samus and Zero Suit also facing opposite directions. I feel like this decision to add some symmetry was somewhat intentional and I appreciate the hell out of it.
Great, just found out the hard way if your card expires/ gets destroyed you can't change the payment method. The official support channel says it will automatically cancel after X amount of attempts. Then the item will be gone as its not in stock Nintendo strikes again. How can a company that big not have the option to update payment methods!
Edit: Got lucky it is back in stock, still, no option to update payment method is ridiculous
Saw them today in person. Imho, rather meh. Something is not working for me here.
I wonder when Nintendo's gonna make GoodSmile quality Amiibo. I know the price and all but I'd still prefer paying 100 bucks for really high quality PVCs over this.
@PixelTavern yes. I think they are the same company as Zavvi, who always have the same issue. They don’t let you update your address either if you move … really strange policy.
Tend to use PayPal when possible so can change the payment details on if card is updated PayPal.
@The-Chosen-one 'Ass DLC', you say? Now that would be something! 😂
Mine arrived this morning and I absolutely love them!! What makes it even sweeter is that they restocked Dark Samus (the only Metroid amiibo I'd been missing) just before Dread launched, so now the set is complete
@solarstriker I would love to have an E.M.M.I. DLC in Smash. That would be super cool.
Mine arrived early on Tuesday, damn they're some pretty figures. Wish they'd restocked the Samus returns amiibo tho, they're the only other metroid ones I'm interested in, especially that squishy metroid
I got mine here in the US before I even picked up the game and they're fantastic figurines. I wish they did a little bit more in-game, but as display pieces they look amazing. I'm very glad amiibo have begun getting higher in production quality.
They are stunning fair play I love mine.
I got them somehow on release day! I like Dread Samus, but I do think the SR Samus Amiibo looks tons better. I can't have them next to each other
That's a veeeeeeeery British way to describe it XDDD
@PixelTavern welcome to the fiasco that is the new My Nintendo Store. I've had 3 orders f**k up because of their p**s poor systems now, they can't handle having more than one preorder on your account at a time and they can't input my address with a flat number on their system so either my card payments fail because the billing address doesn't match or the delivery fails because it doesn't have my flat number... it's exasperating! I've written them off now as ever being a good choice for preorders, they're a buy now kind of situation only.
@Wraggadam1 actually the My Nintendo Store is fully run by Nintendo now since their partnership with the Hut Group came to an end earlier this year, previously I had no issue ordering from the Nintendo Store because the Hut Group actually know how to distribute goods but since the changeover I've had nothing but problems. I think @Rupeeclock was another victim of the changeover too (apologies if not though!) and I'm sure there's many others, I dread to think how they're going to manage a holiday season with the way their systems work at present.
@The_Pixel_King
Hahahahha did not see that 😂😂😂
@Otoemetry the flat number issue is infuriating. I have to use my downstairs neighbours address, as my address also isn’t on the system.
They also don’t inform you if preorders fail (I learned this with Metroid dread), but was lucky enough was still in stock and had to quickly place a new order after calling them two days after release date.
It seems they don’t want my money, but sometimes they are the only option. Definitely avoid if possible these days …
Finally back in stock in the US as people were scalping them like crazy up until this morning. I ordered mine from Target and I saw GameStop has them in stock again. I'm not paying $50+ for these. I knew waiting would pay off and it literally did.
@Wraggadam1 yep this is why my preorder for the Zelda Loftwing amiibo was a complete and utter balls up, they couldn't take payment because my address on their system didn't match my bank's details and then didn't bother informing me that it failed... I was told to check with the bank and they confirmed no payment was even attempted but of course by that point my order with the MNS had to be cancelled and I missed out on the amiibo, luckily GAME still had it in stock but their p&p is a fiver so it cost me £9 more for their f*** up.
I decided against risking a purchase of the Metroid special edition with their rickety in house systems so I bought that elsewhere but I did try to get the amiibo from them only to realise, lo and behold, their systems failed me again! I refuse to attempt any preorders with them ever again, it's just not worth the risk.
Uh… yeah I fetched them today.
The Samus one is very situational and depends on the outer context to look good.
Here in the US, I was finally able to get mine from Best Buy, at a normal price. Just in time for the final boss. Lol. Now my Metroid amiibo collection is complete again.
I didn't get the extra energy tank with the samus amiibo ?
