Re: Random: It's Now Been Seven Years Since Metroid Prime 4 Was Announced

@Arkay Unless you're 80% of the population who doesn't have two pennies to rub together thanks to the hyper inflation going on in most countries around the world...nevermind a new console when you're struggling to put food on the table...

Most gamers I know can on rare occasion afford a game for a console they already own, but most don't have hundreds to spend on new hardware.

Re: Review: My Time At Sandrock (Switch) - A Farm Sim Sequel That Plays It Too Safe

@echoplex Yeah, but JRPG's tend to get crap reviews here in general and occasionally on Push Square as well because the reviews are usually "Nintendo Life" or sometimes "Push Square" handled by people who aren't fans of the genre. I think there should be some guidelines regarding giving the press codes to staff who can actually give a game in whatever genre it belongs to a fair review, if they aren't a fan of the genre or have misconceived expectations of what makes a game good in the genre, then it'll get a lower score than it actually deserves.

Re: Soapbox: Fire Emblem’s Future May Not Be In Turn-Based Combat

@SuntannedDuck2 Nice novel! 🤣

Yeah what the article is describing is not even a Fire Emblem game. I guarantee you the series would be over if it loses its identity like that. Even Final Fantasy is slowly dying and it had several fold the number fans as Fire Emblem currently has when that series abandoned its identity...

Re: The Pokémon Games Have Had Tremendous Success During The Switch Generation

TensuraFan7

@solarwolf07 Doubtful since Switch's successor doesn't release until next year and this game is a SUPER early 2025 title. Also Pokemon games always release last-gen during the first year to 18 months of the new generation so we'll likely see this in early 2025, and another Remake title in the series either this year or next both as current gen titles, after that we'll probably get one more OG Switch Pokemon title before GF moves on.

@AnonyQ That's not censorship if its removing actual illegal content such as hate speech directed at real people. Censorship is when perfectly legal speech or content is removed. That said, there's a fine line between the two things and certain countries do use the law to censor people while not "technically" censoring them in the name of "justice"...

Re: Review: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (Switch) - An Immersive JRPG With Some Real Problems

TensuraFan7

@PinderSchloss Sounds more like an aging Switch with overheating issues to me. Mine starts to do this too once my system has been running for 4-6 hours straight so just give your system an hour or two break and it should fix the issue for awhile.

Also how are there SO MANY PEOPLE ON HERE with zero common sense?! How can people see games like ToTK and Xenoblade 3 release on Switch and run fine, but then a game like this that could easily run on a PS3 with zero issues "which is quite a bit weaker in horsepower than the Switch" release on the Switch with optimization issues and you guys start dogpiling and saying that the Switch is too underpowered to run this...? SMDH... 😮‍💨

@fenlix What kind of comment is that?! Wow, just WOW...🤬

Edit: Not as bad, but you still should delete your comment as it comes across as very cold and callous. The issues don't sound all that bad for him to feel shame, the performance issues will likely be dealt with in the day-one patch and the other "major issue" is a selling point for anyone interested in the game and should therefore be ignored by the viewers.

@demacho Also the idea that overworlds are somehow outdated is a bit annoying as well. I've always enjoyed going to different continents and lands, it makes the game feel like it's taking place across an actual world, rather than just a few locations. Open world still isn't at the level yet to create planet-sized fields so it gives the game the feeling that you're traversing the globe.

You can still use open world for the various fields, towns, and dungeons of course, but nothing can replace the feeling of actually traversing across an entire world!

Xenoblade Chronicles X was the only open world game to come close to realizing a global-scale open world game, but the world was REALLY empty as a result with only a single city it really didn't feel like much of a world. That said we're probably only a generation or two away from open worlds being able to pull it off, but right now it's just not quite there yet...
