Imagine saying how fortunate it is that Deca Police has been cancelled for Switch and is coming to Switch 2 instead to people who were looking forward to the game and can't upgrade to Switch 2 thanks to the horrendous economic environment we're in right now lol. 🤦

@Sidon_Zora_King @Game_n_Watch_it_pal It's ironic that @KidSparta 's comment was what made this discussion political. It'd be like saying that we can't discuss about ESRB or PEGI because they are "technically" government-run ratings boards, completely ignoring the fact that it has EVERYTHING to do with video games and therefore something anyone who wants ACTUAL news regarding the hobby we love would want to be kept in the loop by sites like PS/NL!

Edit: That said if comments got out of control I'd understand closing comments regardless, but if copyrights, patents, anything related to ESRB, etc, etc. had comments disabled it'd be REALLY jarring as there'd be SO MANY articles that people couldn't communicate in which would be bad for a community-based website like this one. While I wish we could comment in every topic, I understand why @antdickens disables them in some cases, however he also needs to be careful not to disable too many discussions or he may anger some members of the community. I believe he and his crew have been doing a fantastic job so far! Anyways I just wanted to add some context to my original message. Cheers! 😎

@trymer89 LOL been awhile, but tbh the GBA games didn't actually look bad, for, well...GBA games, oh and XD: Gale of Darkness wasn't a bad looking GCN game either, but aside from those this might be the first game in the series in a good 20+ years that ACTUALLY looks good for a game released on the platform it's releasing on lol. 🤣

@betterthanvegas You do realize that means we probably won't get games period at some point in the future right? Eventually every single company will misstep once and be figuratively nuked from existence until there are none left. That's the way censorship works. So keep celebrating this, but do realize that if we go down this route that one day all forms of entertainment will be gone and I'm guessing you'll be scratching your head wondering how it happened.

@betterthanvegas Good? You say that now until Square Enix, Capcom, and other publishers get banned. It may start with AI slop publishers, but will almost certainly spread to legitimate publishers if no actual criteria is put in place specifying what is and isn't allowed...

There's already an option for using text for the Spirit Box, so just making that the way to use it would have been fine on Switch 1. Not ideal, but certainly doable.

On a side-note I'm honestly surprised a Switch 1 version was never released as the game wouldn't be too difficult to run with slightly lower resolution textures. I mean it basically looks like a PS4 game on PS5 so obviously it could have been possible, but obviously at this point it might not be as worthwhile to release a Switch 1 version since Switch 2 is now on the market, but I digress lol.

For any of you on the fence this is a fantastic horror title that is wholly playable and functional as a single player offline experience as well, and is pretty friendly for those who don't like bloody or gory horror experiences. There's plenty of jumpscares and creepy moments in the game, but nothing that would prevent most easily grossed-out or nauseated players from enjoying this game.

That said horror 2.0 update releases next year and might change some of that, but we'll see. Right now what I mentioned in the first paragraph applies to the game.

@SwitchplayerJohn How is keeping a more affordable option a.k.a. the Switch 1 available with modest support a bad thing in this horrendous economy? Most people who aren't upgrading won't suddenly upgrade if Nintendo pulls support of Switch 1, they will just continue on with Switch 1 whether or not support for the console continues...

@Solid_Python Only one problem with that...not all Japanese games have English text and not everyone in the West is fluent in Japanese...

@SearchingS No way that'll happen as FC and SC are two halves of the same game essentially so Falcom will at least release SC Remake on Switch 1 before moving on from the hardware at the very least.

@FX29 I'm fairly certain given how many changes they made to this game from its mobile game origins including a MASSIVE overhaul in visuals and a good 70% longer story campaign. It's likely that the game was in development for a couple years, so they were probably already halfway through development of the title by the time the Switch 2 was formally announced and decided to release the game on the originally planned platforms rather than delaying the game by months or longer to start development on a Switch 2 port of the game alongside the planned platform releases.

Ooh! First person mode sounds neato! Glad to see that feature being added on Switch 1 as well!

@HammerGalladeBro Imagine if Nintendo gives us Super Mario Bros. 4 on the NES NSO app as a from the ground up brand new NES game, and maybe an announcement that more newly developed games for the retro consoles on NSO will be released over time?! THAT would actually be my favorite announcement of the direct regardless of what else would be announced! One can only hope and dream lol. 😅

@Truegamer79 No not the same, once downloaded a digital game doesn't require internet while a cloud game does, and oftentimes plays like absolute rubbish unless the place you live in ends in the following abbreviations CA , WA, or NY "at least here in the states." This isn't any sort of political statement btw, its just a fact that most places outside of those states have terribly unreliable and spotty internet when compared to other developed countries.

@beltmenot I have the Maker Yellow Switch Lite as well! I also have a Animal Crossing New Horizons Limited Edition OG Switch "it can't connect to the TV anymore", and a Pearl White Switch OLED! My consoles aren't going anywhere even if I get a Switch 2 eventually!

@donv2135 PS4 isn't the same. You can download the content straight from the disc with zero internet connection. Sometimes even the content updates might be on the disc as well if it's a reprint.

I can't imagine if the cheapest option on the market was $600+ that we'd ever see 100+ million console milestones ever being reached again, heck 25 million would be a remarkable number in that scenario.

Most gamers would be priced out of the market, so let's hope it's closer to $400 or so.
