@PinderSchloss Sounds more like an aging Switch with overheating issues to me. Mine starts to do this too once my system has been running for 4-6 hours straight so just give your system an hour or two break and it should fix the issue for awhile.
Also how are there SO MANY PEOPLE ON HERE with zero common sense?! How can people see games like ToTK and Xenoblade 3 release on Switch and run fine, but then a game like this that could easily run on a PS3 with zero issues "which is quite a bit weaker in horsepower than the Switch" release on the Switch with optimization issues and you guys start dogpiling and saying that the Switch is too underpowered to run this...? SMDH... 😮💨
@bones I remember playing this at recess in middle school back in the late-90's and early-2000's since I was in the computer club and we had some older gaming PC's in the corner of the room. I think it took me TWO years, but I finally beat it before graduating middle school.
@Ade117 I'm honestly surprised that the Mashoku Tensei game is getting a E10+ rating makes me wonder how horribly the game has been censored lol?😅
That said and more on-topic in-regards to TTIGRAAS, I love this series and am happy it's getting a game, though I'd have preferred a more traditional JRPG, this'll still be fun, I'm sure.
@PinderSchloss Rising was a Metroidvania and this is a 3D JRPG, while I thought it looked good, I actually doubt that would have allowed the game to run any better, actually in some areas it would likely make it run worse as I'm pretty sure its visuals would actually be more taxing on the Switch when applied to a massive JRPG...
@fenlix What kind of comment is that?! Wow, just WOW...🤬
Edit: Not as bad, but you still should delete your comment as it comes across as very cold and callous. The issues don't sound all that bad for him to feel shame, the performance issues will likely be dealt with in the day-one patch and the other "major issue" is a selling point for anyone interested in the game and should therefore be ignored by the viewers.
@JohnnyMind I played the beta on Steam a couple years ago before my Windows laptop died and I can't recommend this enough. It's really unique in its story-telling and gameplay loop.😉
Japan got Battletoads In Battlemaniacs, Super R-Type, Wrecking Crew '98, and an RPG that I don't recognize. Does anyone know about that RPG that was just added?
@Jhena Uh...you do realize that FF VII Rebirth has only been out for 6 weeks whereas FF VII Remake has been out for 4 years so obviously the 4 year old game will have WAY more units sold at this point. Rebirth is sitting at just a bit fewer units sold at this point in its life than FF VII Remake did...
@FelixSandwichez But doesn't this mean that the Switch and Playstation version will get it several months after the Xbox version? I could swear that Day one Gamepass games have a required timed exclusivity to Xbox?
@demacho Also the idea that overworlds are somehow outdated is a bit annoying as well. I've always enjoyed going to different continents and lands, it makes the game feel like it's taking place across an actual world, rather than just a few locations. Open world still isn't at the level yet to create planet-sized fields so it gives the game the feeling that you're traversing the globe.
You can still use open world for the various fields, towns, and dungeons of course, but nothing can replace the feeling of actually traversing across an entire world!
Xenoblade Chronicles X was the only open world game to come close to realizing a global-scale open world game, but the world was REALLY empty as a result with only a single city it really didn't feel like much of a world. That said we're probably only a generation or two away from open worlds being able to pull it off, but right now it's just not quite there yet...
@JimNorman Will the Nintendo eShop still be available in legacy mode to redownload previous purchases after the April 8th online functionality shutdown? It'd seem weird if the Wii Shop Channel's legacy mode outlasts the Wii U and 3DS's legacy shops...
I'm also not the type of person who likes blowing through Micro SD Cards every year because of constant writing of data onto it through unnecessarily downloading and deleting games on it...
@Thief Darn it, I wanted the Physical too. Was even willing to buy it through Target despite not liking to buy things from target, just to get this. I'm trying to lean towards physical because I just don't have the space for games anymore on my 700 GB micro SD card...
@HammerKirby Yeah it seems darn near everyone are turning into trolls saying this runs poorly because "The Switch can't handle it." despite there being thousands of games on the console that look and run better...SMDH...
@Flashlink99 Honestly its more about poor optimization than Switch being incapable of handling the games. It's been ages since we've gotten a so-called "impossible port" it just boils down to laziness in most cases...
@Not_Soos Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. I thought a holiday 2024 release was possible, but unlikely with a Q1 2025 release being more likely, but most people were saying Summer 2024 which I knew that ship had already sailed now that we're almost in March and the next-gen hardware still hasn't been announced...
@WhiteUmbrella Yeah, ever since the start of the 8th generation it's been near-impossible to purchase a console during its first year on the market unless you pre-order one. Scalpers are a serious bane to society...
@martynstuff Nah, hardly unrealistic. Seems pretty likely that we'll get a Let's Go Gen 2 OR Gen 5 remakes since even if Switch 2 releases this year there's going to likely be a Pokemon remake for the OG Switch this year. Pokemon games have mostly been alternating years between new games and generational remakes as of late so it's very likely we'll get one of those this year at the very least with a ???? of a new Pokemon game on the OG Switch next year depending on if the next gen console releases next year and how far into development the new Pokemon game is at the time of its launch.
@Bolt_Strike No, not most of the lineup this year, as Switch 2 won't be announced and stealth-dropped. It'll likely release in November since a Spring release is no longer feasible.
@Serpenterror Pretty sure Hundred Heroes went gold a couple months ago meaning that development of the game is finished, so his death shouldn't affect that game at the very least.
@Serpenterror The eshop will still be up in legacy mode after that date, just not the online servers in games. For petes sake you can still redownload your Wii Shop Channel purchases, Nintendo isn't going to end legacy mode on their digital storefronts on Wii U and 3DS before they do so on Wii. I really wish people would stop constantly spreading misinformation regarding the state of these digital store closures. You can still access your games and redownload them...
@Bobb Funny thing about this, is that this looks to be what the CD-I Zelda games should have been. I'm looking forward to see the review and if the game is truly as good as it looks!
@AlexanderDaniels IMO it Depends on how it's localized. With your unyielding mindset you'd probably have next to nothing to play unless you're fluent in Japanese. Nothing against you, but you should definitely not be too much of a stickler against playing any localization as there are a decent number of them that do actually stick closely to the Japanese version's narrative.
@Serpenterror that was delisted last year even before the eShop was shutdown. As for your library of games? WiiWare and Wii VC games can still be redownloaded on the Wii Shop Channel so I'm sure the Wii U & 3DS still have some legs on that front, but definitely future proof your consoles before the digital downloads libraries are axed because hard-drives and SD Cards only last for so long...usually a shorter time than the life expectancy of your consoles themselves.
@_Figo_ I'm basing it on the massive size of the PS4 version, this one will be smaller than the 50+ GB PS4 version, but it'll still be massive. It could be even larger, but based on how good this port looks I can't imagine it being less than 18-19 GB in size "probably larger".
@JimNorman Will there be a physical version or just a digital release? This game will be a minimum of around 20 GB so I will likely only purchase this physically as I'm already super low in space on my Switch...
@TheLX They literally said "preferably without localization" meaning it would be in Japanese. I agree English localization should be better in a lot of cases, but no English text or dubs would be a death nell for any game outside of Japan "especially a text-heavy JRPG like Sakura Wars" since virtually no one would be able to fully understand or enjoy the game.
