Luigi's Mansion 3 Wins Best Family Game Of 2019

Of the Nintendo games nominated in this category, this was my favorite. Congrats!

Not even a tiny bit shocked. I'm fine with this.

The fact a crowd-pleaser like Maker 2 didn't even win in the consolation prize category is just insulting, I mean come on.

Good. Luigi's Mansion 3 deserved it, in my opinion.

It wowed me so much in each and every angle that excluding that game from my Top 5 games of 2019 would be a disgrace on my part.

I also haven't played Ring Fit Adventure, but I sure as heck had a blast with Luigi's Mansion 3 more than Super Mario Maker 2, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and (especially) Yoshi's Crafted World. Man, I'm a huge Yoshi fan, but Crafted World had so much potential that I'm absolutely floored that it left me disappointed...

@AlexSora89 It's missing a fair bit of content, and LM3 was carefully-crafted plus a whole experience whereas SSBU and SMM2 are simply activities. Big congrats to the people behind LM3!

Great, never doubt Luigi.

Seemed like a weird choice to me actually. Luigi's Mansion 3 is good, don't get me wrong, but Mario Maker 2 and Smash Ultimate seem like better games for playing with your family. Luigi's Mansion 3 is mostly singleplayer or 2 player, with some tacked on modes for more than that.

There was not a lot of hype for poor Yoshi! C'mon- that game may not have been perfect but a little applause would've been good!

...anyway, deserved winner, Luigi's Mansion 3 is quite wonderful. Thought this would go to Smash as well though.

Completely deserved! I love seeing the LM series get rewarded, especially after Dark Moon changed the series' direction to feature more puzzle-solving and online co-op.

Perfect and fitting win. My kids and I have been playing through it together since Halloween night and love it to death.

I play it with my 2 and 4 year old sons. They both love it, just as I do, as a long time fan! Well deserved win!

Had it in my shopping cart for Target's buy 2 get 1 free sale last Saturday, which of course excluded all 3 games in my cart.

Still 12 more days until Christmas, haven't given up yet.

I've always thought that the "Best Family Game" award was pretty condescending, especially toward Nintendo.

It is the best game Well to me it is.

I love LM3 and it‘s a well deserved winner, but I would really love the series to get back to its roots in terms of atmosphere. In the first game you‘re basically on your own most of the time and encounters with ghosts were a lot scarier.

Why not make all of these articles about awards one article listing all the Nintendo-relevant awards

I don't think that Smash Bros. is the best fighting game but I agree that Luigi's Mansion 3 is the "family" game of the year and Crash Team Racing the best sports/racing game of 2019 because Forza Horizon 4 released in 2018.

I would rate lm3 not more than 8. I am forcing myself to finish the game just cause i hope it gets better with next floors but I am at floor 11 and still i feel bored.
1 and 2 were much better.
