One of the bigger third-party games that has already been released on the Switch this year is Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The only issue is it's not available outside of Japan yet.
In its latest online survey designed for fans who recently picked up Persona 5 Royal on the PlayStation 4, Atlus asked them if they'd like to see The Phantom Strikers localised. Keep in mind, a western release date for this game still hasn't been announced.
As you might recall, Atlus shared a similar online survey back in February – asking players if they would like to see titles and series like Catherine: Full Body, Shin Megami Tensei, Devil Summoner and Etrian Odyssey on the Switch.
This was followed up last week during the Nintendo Direct Mini, when the Japanese developer and publisher officially confirmed Catherine: Fully Body would be heading to the hybrid device on 7th July 2020.
Is this the Persona game you've been waiting to play on your Switch? Show your support below.

No we do not. You can keep it Atlus.
you're joking right? i figured it WAS already being localized
Why does Atlus have such a hard time believing that people want to play their games.
Yes, people would like to play your games.
And yes, having them not restricted to one language or platform would assist in that.
@boop23 This! They had already announced it some time ago, didn’t they?
I couldn't really care less about a Warriors game with a Persona coat of paint. Give us a Persona JRPG on Switch. I'd be interested in P4 or P5 as I've heard good things about both of them.
@mesome713 Speak for yourself, I want it.
They totally squandered this opportunity. Should have released it or P5 when joker came to Smash.
@Heavyarms55
It feels more like an action RPG than a Warriors game. I've played both Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, and this has a different feel from those two based on the Japanese demo alone.
Was this not a given already? I don't recall Atlus having this kind of cold feet for other consoles. I really gotta wonder why they're so jittery about releasing games on Switch.
I'm not a turn-based guy, I'd love to play the Persona series with hack n slash.
I don’t care about this, but regular P5: YES!
@OdnetninAges Still not what I'm looking for from Persona. But better than a Warrior clone.
FFS Atlus, I thought this was already happening.
I sure hope so, it's one of a very small pool of games I have been excited for since they haven't announced a Persona 3 FES - 4 Golden - 5 collection for switch yet...
Atlus is so exhausting...
@Heavyarms55 This really isn't a Warriors game with a Persona coat of paint. I played the demo, it's a straight up action RPG that has real time combat instead of turn based during battles.
@mesome713 I want it, the demo was fun.
They should port the real Persona 5 to Switch first.
I'll buy it on PS4, along with the other Persona games I have on that system. If the Persona series does come to Switch... I'll buy it on that, too.
I assume it will come to the west.
I preordered P5R and didn't get an email...
Comes out tomorrow! Can't wait!
Does Atlus just not want money at this point? I mean as if teasing us about a Switch port of Persona when people were asking even before Switch's release wasn't bad enough, now they have to ask if we want its spinoff localized? Why the hell weren't they localizing it in the first place?
@Entrr_username Cost/benefit analysis. Perhaps they don't think it will do well in the west. I don't remember if it did well in Japan or not.
Instead of wasting our time with survey, just localised the game for Switch already, if not then finish Shin Megami Tensei 5 and move on. Seriously Atlus you're trolling your fans at this point, I don't think I had ever hate you this much before. What change man? Ever since your company merge with Sega you started acting like fools towards your fellow fans, start acting like a professional company and do things you said you would do otherwise your fans will start treating you like EA, Blizzard, Bethesda, Capcom, UbiSoft, and Konami.
Make me miss the days when Atlus would release anything on the GBA and DS.
"Is this the Persona game you've been waiting to play on your Switch? " Such a tease. You know its not the one we're craving
I'm done. I've lost my patience with this company. I'd rather have TMS#FE 2 than this.
Keep going Atlus, just a tiny bit more of this bs and I'll put you on the "I'll buy your games used, because I don't want to give my hard-earned cash to this kind of company" pile alongside EA and co.
What happened to you guys? You weren't like this in the past >.<
My god, i thought that they already knew that people really, really want persona 5 scramble localised and especially persona 5 royal on switch. This is just ridiculous by now
@kenyowa I think it's more Sony than Atlus. Sony finally realised that all of their first party games are essentially the same two games with a different coat of paint (bar the occasional Ratchet and Clank reboot or something similar) and that all of the third parties except for persona had gone multiplat. So Sony is now desperately trying to hold onto the one big third party franchise they have left, while Atlus desprately tries to escape from Sony.
How do you actually access it
@mesome713 no we want.So stop writing zoomer
ok i get it, April Fool, you can not fool me Atlus :v
P/s: Really, Atlus, what are you thinking, after many thing happen around P5 on Switch ???????
@DarkKirby true, honestly, fan will love these series like Etrian, SMT, or even P5 port appear Switch, just do it, and if you don't do it, why make it uncertain and full of rumour :v
This is a joke right?
What i find most amusing about this situation is that when this game first revealed, Westerners (Mostly the Switch Elitist thou) basically cried, yelled, and cursed at Atlus, basically telling them 'we' don't want this, either give us the original P5 or nothing at all.
Now people acting confused and upset that Atlus asking if we still even want the game. I don't blame them, what's the point of trying to sell something to an audience who made it loud and clear they aren't interested? Lol
Give us Person 5 Royal AND Persona 5 Scramble!
I just love how bafflingly tone deaf Atlus is being with this. So, after putting Joker in Smash, not only do they not port over P5, but they instead make a Warriors spin-off that they evidently aren't even sure they want to bring out of Japan. They couldn't hinder the global popularity of Persona more if they tried.
You know what? I'm not terribly interested in this game (or even P5), but if I was, this would be off-putting enough to reconsider.
THEY HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED YET?
Atlus never once said P5S was being localized for the West they night not have been working on translating it and only been working on Royal so unlikely you see P5S come out this year outside of Japan
Just all the yes coz it continues the story of the persona 5 world, and would not like to experience the disappointment of a persona game only haveing half of the story told like with the persona 2 series.
they could at least port it to ps4 where the actual playerbase is lmao
like i swear itd sell so much better than p5d did
Wait a second, I thought localization was about dubbing and cultural adaptions, not about whether it should be released outside of Japan or not. Did I misunderstand this!? O_o (they can't be that stupid............ Right?)
wow, was already looking forward to it even.
@Rpg-lover it's only march 31st
a lot of people here that don't care for a hack and slash persona should remember that P5S is still a direct sequel to p5, despite the change in genre.
persona 5 royal Only please
@ShikabaneHime13 no Atlus never said anything about P5S coming to the West
I mean couldn't they see how many westeners downloaded the japanese demo? Surely Nintendo/Sony keeps track of such data?
I want Atlus to ask the right questions and KNOW the answers. I think we mostly agree we'd prefer the mainline Persona games on Switch. And there's no reason to believe they won't sell at the right price. I mean, PS Vita has number 4. What is PS Vita you ask?
Exactly.
Yeah, Atlus can be exhausting...
I always figured that (despite not being super interested in this) the localization was a given, considering that Persona and P5 specifically was a big success outside of Japan, and Omega Force constantly localizes tons of Musou games. Omega Force cranks these out by the dozens, and few fail to reach the west. They even localized that Arslan crossover game of all things.
Atlus I will help you and told what we all want, please give us:
And that's it. ;-P
Did some of the people commenting here stop looking any further into this game as soon as they heard it had Warriors gameplay?
It's literally a full canonical sequel. With the time management and building relationships and everything. Literally the only difference is that it has real-time action gameplay instead of being turn based again.
We ABSOLUTELY want this game here.
The success of Persona 5 really killed Atlus. They used to release lot more diverse games. If SMT5 is another power of friendship JRPG the Persona fanbase will be blamed.
@Heavyarms55 I definitely agree with half your comment; I’d absolutely love P4G and/or P5R on Switch, too. Both are properly amazing games.
However, I for one cannot wait for P5S: The Phantom Strikers on Switch. Even if it only plays 10% as well as it looks, it’ll be a day one purchase for me... well, that’s if Atlus deem us – the people who put money in their pockets – worthy of their best IP’s!
people still port-begging, haha, unreal.
I still think it’s coming but this after the Direct Mini no show is unnerving
Atlus is really annoying, why even ask if they don’t listen? Every single time there is a thread/video mentioning atlus, there are people asking for regular persona 5 on switch. Meanwhile, they give us side game and catherine.
At least tell the fans that p5 on switch 100% won’t happen and end this circus.
@JoeDiddley just won't be releasing this year
@ancientlii 😅😅😅.. i know right!
Asking us about what they should be doing! when they know it's a must to do the localization! Personally I can't think of playing the game because i don't speak Japanese.
Atlus, can I take a survey about how much I'm tired of your stupid surveys? It's 2020, not the early 2000's where your games won't sell in the west.
@SwitchVogel Spot on. I haven't heard anything about them localizing the anime either. It's no wonder Persona continues to be a niche franchise, since they apparently can't manage a brand out of a wet paper sack. Typical Atlus. I had hoped things might change when SEGA acquired them, but who was I kidding? SEGA, the company that still can't figure out their own flagship franchise. Guess it really was a fitting matchup.
@mesome713 speak for youself pal! I like persona series same way i like SMT. And i would love their games coming to the hybrid console where it's a perfect match.
Psvita sold well with the persona golden 4! So imagine what will happen to the switch if all the persona series comes to it. So speak for yourself ok!
@MegaVel91 exactly "saying we like his being given the power to speak on our behalves"..
@MattyHammo good for you! I was like that until i started getting the hang of the turn based combat and guess what? I was sold!. Well regardless it's cool for your taste in hack & slash. But give the turn base a second chance if you haven't already.
I think they are going to use Catherine: Fully Body as a litmus test to see if it's worth porting or localizing other games.
@Heavyarms55 Yes please! I would buy a main Persona game on Switch or even 3DS right now.
Would like it if they do a good translation. If not I will get the Japanese release.
Why is this even a question? Of course we want it down here. Does atlus not know how thriving the persona community is in the west? Maybe they should take some time to actually do research on where all their fans come from.
It's not too soon for this question Atlus? P5R sales just started today.
I thinked that they already working on P5S localization, but it seems that they just still thinking about it. That's sad.
@Anvold its very possible Royal took up all of Atlus West time, I can't see P5S coming to the West this year if they haven't even started any working on its western localisation
I'm so tired of this. Catherine will sell 10% of what any Persona would on Switch and they took the time to do that, so the decision pipeline over there is just mind boggling. I've also literally given up on SMTV at this point. Like, I dont think it exists outside of the 4 year old reveal trailer they made seemingly just to mess with the series faithful.
Is Atlus TRYING to push their fans/followers. I simply dont understand the logic behind their recent actions in regards to Western releases and Switch support. They seem to think they are drumming up hype but in reality they are drumming up ire and contempt. Atlus, STOP THIS BULLSH*T and treat your fans with intelligence and respect or risk becoming the next Bethesda
@KBuckley27 yes, it seems no Scramble in 2020 for us. And it will be good if we can play in P5S with English subs someday.
Atlus feel like such an oddball of a company.
They must have no intention of putting Persona 5 on Switch because I can't understand how they wouldn't already know people want Persona 5 (and other Persona games) on Switch.
Now that I think about it, the english logo was trademarked in december.... perhaps it's just a discrete advertising/reminder for the Royal players so they don't get too caught up on just that game >_> (with Atlus, anything is possible)
This makes you think they have not been working on localization, you'd think they'd see how hungry the switch base can be. While i'd love to see Persona 5 i'm interested in this too.
Yeah, no. They can keep their game. Its attitude towards Switch owners is garbage.
I can’t wait if this game to come out to the USA. I would totally get this for my Nintendo Switch if it came out to the USA
WE NEED THIS!
I would buy this in a heart beat.
Yes please atlus
I think that Persona 5 Scramble would be an amazing game to be localized here on the Switch. I also wouldn't mind having Persona 5 Royal ported to the Switch as well.
Atlus does this all the time it's nothing new
They gauged interest in a Persona Action RPG in their April 2019 consumer survey, and later that month Scramble was announced at the Super Live concert
and they just gauged interest in Nintendo Switch versions of their larger library, with Catherine Full Body being one of the options alongside every mainline Persona title and the PS2 era SMT games like Raidou Kuzunoha Devil Summoner and Digital Devil Saga
and now we have Catherine, with potentially more coming down the line
These aren't even questions at this point because Atlus already addresses them.
I can't find a good place to say it, so I'll just say it now: portal and portal 2 for switch!
The answer is no
@mesome713 Tf is wrong with you? Of course we do.
The answer is yes, and anybody who says otherwise is wrong and dumb.
@RPGamer It really seems like they live in another reality where they don't know people want the games on Switch...
@RPGamer And no one hates money. lol
I wish Joker was never in Smash so Nintendo only people wouldn't even know what Persona is.
@RPGamer I'm tired of port begging.
I've been Nintendo my entire life, only just getting a PS4 last year. I'm far from a fanboy.
Still, not buying it until some version of P5 hits the switch. Waiting on SMT news myself.
