All of this reminds me of the Mario Movie craze.

The optimization of this game is poorly done. I can't even get my mid-tier gaming rig to play it properly (Ryzen 7 9800x3D & RTX 4070 Super). All of these praises for the game just reek of paid sponsorships and propaganda.

I doubt this game will run properly on the Switch 2. It'll probably play at under 30 fps.

Tbh, if I were to buy a Switch 2, I wouldn't transfer my entire account to the new console, because I like my OLED model. Instead I would just use it as a brand new account and save file. I'm OK with this.

I knew this was going to happen.

Silksong had been in development for years and everyone had been hyping up the game ever since it was announced.

For a while, Silksong was in the same category like Half-Life 3 for the most anticipated mythic games that did not have a release date yet.

Now the cat's out of the bag.

Why, these fanatic fans have been waiting patiently for years and the game has this?! (insert issue here)

In the end, Silksong is just a game. Of course causal gamers are going to have a hard time because the game has Dark Souls-like mechanics, but they forgot its something it's predecessor had as well.

Team Cherry wanted to make a more challenging game after Hollow Knight. They didn't really account for casuals, nor did they have the time to make an "easy" mode, if the game was to release at all. If they made the game too easy, they would also be criticized. It seems no one will be satisfied.

I think people are just upset because they have been waiting a long time and magically assumed this game was going to be perfect in every way to justify their impatience.

@Markatron84 I watched the original Digimon when it first came out, and everyone thought it was Pokemon knock-off.
Obviously it wasn't and I find it a far better show than Pokemon in terms of storytelling and mature themes.

If Digimon was inaccurately perceived as a Pokemon clone, where was Nintendo's outcry then?

As someone who grew up watching the original Pokemon show (back when it was called a cartoon and not anime) and played the first games on the Game Boy DMG, it's a weird sensation but I don't like what Nintendo has done to Pokemon and left a bad taste of how I feel for the franchise from now on.

I don't think I'll be playing any future Pokemon games any time soon. Legends Arceus was the only good one Pokemon game for the Switch. Personally, I was hoping for something mature and well developed like Pokemon Back/White 2. The other games after just didn't hit that mark and felt too childish (yes, I know it's geared towards children, but I was a kid once Black/White 2 released and that generation was awesome).

There wasn't anything old Pokemon gamers like myself could play and be satisfied with. Then I discovered romhacks and how the community brought back that magic and original love of Pokemon that I used to have, something I feel Nintendo has lost through their pursuit greed. The best part? The community has made this all for free.

Call it pirating or whatever. I personally own all of the games. Nintendo got their money. You can't deny that fans and the community make Pokemon games better than the company itself.

While Nintendo loves it's customers and I enjoy their games, they are in no way in touch with any "fan base" of theirs.

Nintendo has banned fan works, forbidding speedrunning at conventions, posting videos of their games, or sharing soundtracks on youtube. DMCA to fan art, and etc. Yeah.. SURE. Nintendo definitely loves their fans (to hate on).

If Nintendo isn't in control of what their "fans" do with their IP, they'll be punished in some way.

We've waited this long and me personally am fine with it. However, when it does release, I can't help but wonder how will the obsessed fans rate it?

Real people worked on the game and because it's all "hand made" those kind of games takes longer to make. Look at Cuphead for instance.

By the time it'll come out, there will be backlash. Not because the game won't be any good, but that these obsessed fans want instant gratification and will point out any insignificant flaws to justify their impatience.

It's the same with Giratina. Still no idea what the official stance is on this.

So what's the answer here? Issue a cease and desist for every awesome fan art of Pokemon because Game Freak is envious by their lack of creativity?

Nintendo is all about selling their products to make money and satisfying the shareholders.
Nintendo has a strict draconian stance about their IP that is bizarre and severe compared to Western laws.

When Nintendo sees their fans using their characters in fan art, fan videos, music, or in events such as speed running, they see this as a violation of their laws and must be shut down at once!

To Nintendo, their IP is sacred. The only way to enjoy a Nintendo product is to play it. Nothing else. Oh, and Nintendo can ban your Switch 2 console if they suspect foul play and there's nothing you can do about it to reverse it.

And don't let Nintendo catch you thinking in your head about their IP for free without paying royalties first!

This is the future where Switch 1 physical games will be more valuable than Switch 2 "Game Key Cards", since it seems there won't be many physical games for the next console.

It's kind of how I always imagined the DMG would look. Plain.

Still the same color. Ever since the reveal, I was disappointed that it was an all black console and not Nintendo's usual bright and cheerful colors like red or white. Even a SNES color layout would've been a smash it.

One user named themself "Twink Link" and later found their system completely banned because Nintendo found the name offensive? A ban usually means prevention from using online services, not a bricked console (you're right on that part).

This was a month ago and Nintendo eventually fixed the issue, but only because of the publicity. I'm surprised this Nintendo-centered site did not make an article about it, since they make news about every single little thing about the Switch 2. But since this would've been considered negative light towards Nintendo, I'm not surprised that they didn't.

These are my thoughts on the matter.

Basically, on this Nintendo-centered site, loyal fans will swear that the Switch 2 out performs and is superior to the Steam Deck in every way imaginable (even though a majority don't own a Steam Deck).

But, outside of this little Nintendo site, people will definitely know which one is better.

These are two completely different consoles. A PC handheld which is completely customizable, and the other a newer console which Nintendo themselves has given us very little control over (and they have a history of bricking consoles if they suspect foul play).

Meanwhile, I've recently gotten some old gems like Starcraft Remastered and Rome: Total War to run and customized the controls and touchscreen to play in handheld mode.

Oh, but the the Switch 2 is a "Hybrid"? So is the Steam Deck!

I can use the Steam Deck in desktop mode (keyboard and mouse) and play a huge ton of PC games (thousands of games) because guess what? The Steam Deck is basically a Mini PC that has a nice big screen (mine is OLED).

While the Switch 1 & 2 is more straight forward to play games on, the Steam Deck can also run games pretty easily through SteamOS. Not only that, but games are also on sale most of the time, something that very rarely occurs on Nintendo's store. There are TONS of games that can be played on the Steam Deck, both on handheld mode and desktop.

No, the Steam Deck definitely does not compare in any way possible to the Nintendo Switch 2. It's in a completely different category.

I really thought they would cast Chris Pratt as Zelda-- I mean Link. Wasn't Zelda middle aged in BOTW? All of these "kids" seem too young to play these characters. Well, at least they're not casting hollywood's typical overrated overpaid actors.

Nintendo has been going on an anti-consumer warpath towards it's fans and community as of late, so I'm not surprised they'll do something like this in one of their main games.

I miss the good old days where Nintendo encouraged people to play their games, not force players to not have fun.

Of course it's ''Digital''. The only difference is that you're locked out of playing the game on your Switch without the Key, while the whole game has been downloaded to the console.

Purchasing the game digitally would remove of the hassle of key cards completely. This is definitely the death of physical media...
