@Zaruboggan I decided screw it, it's getting lots of love on the PC, even if it's a bit janky on launch it should be good and bought it. I did that at 8am my time. It's now 10:30PM and I'm still waiting. Rest assured I'll give you an update when Ibplay the damn thing...

Re: Review: Blue Prince (Switch 2) - A Masterful Mystery, And One Of The Best Puzzlers Ever

StorminNorman

@Sonicka which is in direct contrast to the review saying it didn't want to say much more than the task was to find the 46th room. And whilst it may be typical of roguelikes, I'd like to find that out for myself, especially when the game is getting the praise it is and people are deliberately not being forthcoming with information for a reason. Much like how I don't start a murder mystery novel at the last chapter.

Re: Review: Pokémon Pokopia (Switch 2) - One Of The Most Enticing Pokémon Games Ever

@HammerGalladeBro bit hard for TPC to overule Nintendo since they own the controlling stake in it. Sure, it's split between the 3 of em (that 3% that goes to the anime team is being discounted here as it's immaterial), but given Nintendo owns over 50% of game freak and what is understood to be a controlling stake in Creatures Inc (the actual percentage hasn't been released), they are very much in charge. They give game freak and Creatures Inc their autonomy cos why wouldn't they, the franchise has printed em more money than Mario has and I know I wouldn't even attempt to "fix" that problem, so I don't blame em for doing the same. They also own the trademark globally, so game freak and Creatures Inc is a bit hamstrung that way too if they decide to branch off on their own. They're also in charge of distribution which feels more appropriate for thenthe GKC. But for all my nattering on here, you could likely ask a bunch of lawyers who are qualified and respected in this aspect of law if Pokemon games were first or third party and get a variety of responses from both sides of the argument as there's a good amount of nuance due to Nintendo being so hands off on the creative side etc. It's an interesting way to spend an afternoon if you find yourself with some time to spare and wanna learn more too.

@shoeses I very much want this game, but I shouldn't buy this game as I simply can't make it fit time wise at the moment. It'll probably get purchased quite soon though, I suspect I'll have a drink or two too many whilst away this weekend and will chuckle when I get home and see it loaded on the S2.

Re: Kirby Air Riders Gets A New Update Today, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

StorminNorman

@Dev-N it was a surprisingly popular party game when I did catch ups over the Xmas break. Seemed to be a lot easier for people new to the game to get a handle of than the other modes too.

@Chlocean I wasn't even expecting further balancing, so no fear there! I suspect you may be on the right track though given the balancing update we got too. It is promising though, means that it shouldn't be stuck too long if there's an update to the S2 os that breaks something etc. I doubt that'll happen, but never say never etc.

@TheRazor the controversy surrounding him has nothing to do with what he's not, and the things he's said in the past have nothing to do with socialism or communism regardless. You've also lumped socialism and communism together despite them being very different. Learning more about this controversy and politics in general will help you solve these issues with your argument. I understand this is a gaming site, so I'm not expecting highbrow political debate, but I do expect it to be above the level of blatant antagonistic misinformation.

Re: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Is Getting A Physical Switch Release

StorminNorman

@NeonPizza none of this changes the fact that you yearn for your technology to be limited, when the creators back then yearned for the technology they were using to be as capable as it is now. You are trying to force your opinion into becoming a fact. And plenty of those movies hold up just fine and are crisp etc, movies from the 70s hold up fine too. I also suspect your cinema recollection is woeful, you can't swing a cat these days without hitting someone analysing why modern movies look worse in comparison. To say they wee just a step above VHS is asinine in the extreme, especially when you back it up with your DVD comparison, which in the early days were just upscaled VHS. Nothing you've said here tracks, you simply want the game to look exactly how it did back then. Which is fine, but your argument to support it needs to reflect that which it doesn't when you start adding stuff that simply isn't true.

Re: Forget The Talking Flower, This Is The Cutest Upcoming Mario Toy

StorminNorman

@TrogdorTheBurninator "steered away from toys in the past"...? I haven't stopped buying them since the 90s, and I was having them bought for me in the 80s. Likely would've been getting bought their toys in the 70s if I were alive then too. I'd also argue that Spin Master rather than Nintendo are making this, so if anything, they've moved away from being so involved with toy construction. And it's not like they can't afford to spend some time with this stuff, they have literally 0 debt.

Re: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Is Getting A Physical Switch Release

StorminNorman

@NeonPizza that's your opinion as opposed to what the devs intended back then. And having an opinion on what you think looks better is perfectly fine, unless you're using it to try and change the facts of the past like you are here. It's especially relevant here as Ancel is so protective of the Rayman series (he famously has control of the series and Ubi doesn't). He may have been unaware of the bugs as he's stepped away from dev work now, but there's 0 chance he didn't okay what we got visual wise (I think he even mentioned it looking good in the lead up to release). The way you've worded it, they took advantage of the tech of the time to make the game they wanted, which doesn't hold up when the truth is that they used the tech of the time to make the best game they could. The cartoons you initially mentioned fall in to this category too, I can only assume you have forgotten how sharp they were on a cinema screen or the cels they were drawn on compared to when we saw them on a crt.

Re: Pokémon Pokopia Switch 2 New Pre-Order Bonus Revealed (US)

StorminNorman

@rvcolem1 they do it every week in Queensland. For a domestic midstrength beer, it ain't half bad all told.

Also, @Liam_Doolan, I know JB HiFi down here is also including the plant DLC with preorders, wouldn't be surprised if others are too. And given EB is, well, EB, I don't doubt there's a few readers who actively avoid that particular retailer and may appreciate a more accurate guide here.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For February & March 2026

StorminNorman

@Anti-Matter you have the right to give your opinion about GKC, we have the right to give ours, and we also have the right to say what we think about yours as we do so. And just personally, your inability to take criticism on the issue renders your opinion pretty moo (iykyk). It's not expected that you'll change your mind, but if your response is to shout about your "rights" whilst dismissing every one else, well, that isn't a long bow to draw, is it?

Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.5.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

StorminNorman

@KociolekDoSyta I didn't count expats either. All 3 of those launguages have people who have that language as their mother tongue (like you and Polish) in a number larger than their country. Logically, they have to have people outside of their country that speak it, which especially makes sense for French as their empire is still so large that the sun hasn't set on it, much like it hasn't set on the British one. I'm not trying to diminish the achievement and how excited you are for it, but you definitely need a better comparison as you compared apples and watermelons before.

And as for nothing standing in the way of localising all games for everyone, I'd argue that the ideal it's aiming for should be the norm, but very much disagree with there being nothing standing in the way of that happening. It takes more than just waving a wand and saying "localise".

Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.5.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

StorminNorman

@KociolekDoSyta all three of these languages have more people who have it as their first language than they have people within their borders. Poland has more people within its borders than there people on the planet who speak Polish as their first language. So, no, all 3 do have countries that use the language outside of their respective countries. Fun side note: the sun still hasn't set on the French Empire.

Re: EB Games Is Closing Some Stores In Australia This Month

StorminNorman

@SuntannedDuck2 my friend, you need to brush up on our businesses down here. Target and Kmart are owned by the same company, target is getting downgraded so as to stop stealing sales from Kmart (people spend more, and more frequently, at Kmart). Bi lo never went away, the stores just became Coles, much like how Safeway become Woolworths in parts of the country around the same time. And Myer is still rattling along just fine. They'd be doing better if the C suite would stop making bone headed decisions, but they're not suffering terribly like some other retailers such as David Jones are.

Re: Cowabunga! TMNT Roguelike 'Splintered Fate' Is Heading To Switch 2 Next Week

StorminNorman

Has this update ended up being free...? I ask as there's nothing in the store, the file size on my device is bigger, and I think it looks better, but I can't be certain on the latter as I only played it until after the first foot clan encounter in the tute as it was horrible then and I don't think that means I'm qualified enough to speak on it now. Especially cos the main characters are still somewhat blurry.
