@WeHaveKirbyAtHome I picked it back up late last year after not playing for a similar amount of time, and yeah, there's a wholllle bunch of weird stuff now. But I picked it up to play with my best mates kid, so I just leave him to sort that out for me as I dig a hole. I assume that if I played more than a couple hours a month I'd have picked up some of the other stuff, but I still have fun just digging down and seeing what's what. On the flipside, I rarely play on my own cos it's a right pain to fire up a session compared to the days of old...
@Sindayl with the example you've given I'd be more surprised if it wasn't broken. Which doesn't help you in the slightest, I know, but I did just sigh a little bit when I read your comment cos that company has ended up being such a let down that seeing em let down others right annoys me now.
@AmplifyMJ I can't decide if the slander they threw at the first game is because they did or didn't, cos, uh, yeah, I'd rather drive a wagon full of TNT down a mountain pass than poke that bear!
@whitespy12 on the flip side, I'm getting well sick of waiting til 9pm AEST for games to release. They're getting realllllll loosey goosey with saying "it's out", either we have to wait for the rest of the world to catch up with those of us "in the future", or you lot have to wait for it to incrementally roll out at a certain time for each time zone. It's asinine in the extreme.
@BLAZINOAH I don't think there was enough money on the planet to get Nintendo to work with WWE in 2011, the product was hot garbage.
@Pillowpants your case is a little different as you aren't being paid in part due to your appearance. Be really hard to argue it was transformative, kat von d got away with it as she could argue the portrait was significantly changed when she turned it into a tattoo, no chance with a Triforce one. But again, that doesn't matter if you aren't making money from the beautiful visage that is you.
@Waluigi451 the viper went through it too with all the skulls on his arms. He got permission for them to appear on tv and ppvs, not in games.
@Stormcloudlive yeah, this is probably the least annoying C&D he's had to deal with over the years.
@Anti-Matter are we thinking about the same Pokopia? I only ask as the one I'm thinking of had a bunch of supply issues with the physical release on launch, suggesting that maybe the only way the format used hindered sales was because they didn't make enough of them rather than noone wanting the format used, which doesn't mesh with what you're saying here.
@Max_the_German generally, yeah, you're right. But it's a great comparison to use when someone uses hyperbole to suggest Nintendo are publishing nothing of their own.
@HalBailman I've had them refuse to price match with a JB that I could see from the register, which was wild. Figured I'd save some time and get the game whilst I was getting some tat for my mates kids, apparently I figured wrong... As for our prices though, I haven't paid retail on release for physical in an age either. Dunno if that's the case abroad though.
@Pillowpants squadrons was half decent for an XvT successor. Definitely suffered due to the landscape changing in the years between them, but it scratched the itch that I had.
@Krambo42 I dunno bout this one, time has not been kind to ole Dash and co. Do agree with the sentiment in general though!
Edit: and forgot to add, mullet madjack is good dumb fun. Absolutely adore the aesthetic. Also suggest anyone who gets it checks out the big box unboxing bit all the way to the end, especially if your joints ache when you stand up these days.
@Bizzyb I have to get up to change a cartridge, don't have to do that with a digital game (assuming it's on the device). Not everyone bases their decisions solely on economic factors...
@Astropez if thermodynamics says that it'll cause the S2 to overheat, it should also be able to say why there hasn't been a number of reports of it happening with the first iteration of the case. Hell, it should also be able to say why it would overheat beyond "cos I said so".
@Kiz3000 here in the antipodes, I found it on the webstore (we're not allowed to access the app).
Personally I'm on the fence with this one. The price is right, but I dunno how I feel about mowing down xenos. I have no cares about their feelings, just seems wrong to be able to wade through em like happens in the footage I've seen.
This is welcome news for me. I, for some unknown reason, didn't move on to NG+, but kept grinding away with the intention of finishing every level with every character. Did that, then steamed through my first two NG+ runs and put it down. I'll likely still be too OP for the early ones, but the new additions will drag me back in!
@Bluelink45 I'd argue if you "explain" the joke like you did you're making a different joke. Throwing yourself under the boss as you did it certainly helped, some people don't realise they're killing a joke.
@rvcolem1 yeah, those master criminals handing over their cash and buying the game must be stopped! Sarcasm aside, it happens every time a physical S1 game drops, it just never gains any traction unless it's a big game. Odyssey, TotK, etc all had leaks due to the street date being broken.
@HS-Username I'd argue it is kind of necessary, Diana's hair was the first thing I noticed with the demo. Whilst I quickly forgot about it as I tried to not get turned into meat paste, it was something that has tempered my hype for it as RE hadn't dropped yet and it wouldn't be the first time performance issues have cropped up. So long as it's not unfairly bashing the system, I will be fine with genuine criticism due to the differences of the various platforms.
Edit: "necessary" might not be the right word for what I mean here. Warranted? Valid? Bah, english is a stupid language...
@Billy_Lee I wouldn't expect any difference with the S2, but there could be different behaviour with the S1 variant as it's all on the cart for that. And I may be an outlier anyway. It can't chart like it does if everyone else gets the same issue. Surely...
@Billy_Lee my experience was with the digital and NOT the physical, but I could play it in airplane mode. Will say this much, playing it in that mode is why I was so annoyed with it, so much fun. I looked up my ubi account details and all. It just kept looping me back to the main menu though.
@babybilly I've already stated that the many free games available on the store have their own category. They do not show up in the regular charts. And do you not think a ~95% sale would mitigate the issue some? As for others figuring it out, the PS store is just as bad.
@babybilly you're implying a system where shovelware games get punished for giving away their games for free, but other devs don't. That is a line fraught with danger. Every store has its quirks, this is one of this stores quirks. And I didn't imply it wasn't the devs choice, I straight up asked if you realised there was nothing stopping the devs from heavily discounting it, the implication was that they could do that as a way to try and mitigate the issue, which I clarified with my next comment.
@Teksette yep. I also ended up getting it refunded as it refused to take me to the log in page and I couldn't log in even if I wanted to. Bit of a shame given I really enjoyed the little bit I played in airport mode, but ah well, plenty more in the backlog.
@babybilly that's what I just said. Nothing stopping them heavily discounting it as a work around to Nintendo's policy. They're all different stores trying to deal with bad actors, they're not all going to have the same policies (which is one reason why whataboutisms are usually a poor choice of logic) and sometimes things like this pop up. It's not the end of the world, and like I said, why aren't you also holding the devs feet to the fire?
@babybilly not really, its to stop manipulation of the charts, and free games get their own section within which they can compete. I'll take this policy over shovel ware flooding the store with 100% off sales.
@LinktotheFuture yeah, fair. I'm holding out for a sale before I do the same sd card wise, and it's starting to get annoying juggling space. It's "only" 60GB on PC, so I can see why it might not fit on a cart, but you should be fine with your biggest tracts of open land in Britain. Er, I mean, storage (damn you Monty Python).
I know I said it might be a speed thing earlier, but it clearly wouldn't fit on a cart anyway, are a lot of you who are demanding it be on a cart wanting them to ship it on two carts and you swap them at some stage...? It seems like a lot of you are trying to shove a square peg in a triangle shaped hole.
@Anachronism it technically has a storage size of ~2.2TB, it's just that there's no 2TB sd cards that are appropriate yet, so it doesn't have it practically yet.
@Nao120 yeah, part of the mess was from me trying other cartridges cos I was drunk and thought that that might make a difference. I've done a little bit of "testing" since, I can sometimes get a normal race or two in before I disco, I disco every time the in between bit finishes and the next race starts when doing a tour (so infuriating waiting all that time only to have the connection drop the instant the race starts). I might fire it up later tonight and see what's what after this new patch, but probably not as beyond words has got its hooks in me pretty deep.
Now I think, I might be annoyed enough to fire off an email to nintendo themselves. Cos as good as crossworlds is as a kart game, it can't replace zipping around and being a menace as waluigi after a few beers.
@Nao120 oh thank god, it's not just me... I just wish that the first time it did it to me, I hadn't just come home from a night on the tiles and was up for some chaos before falling asleep with the switch in my lap. Cleaning up my "troubleshooting" mess the next day definitely didn't help the hangover.
@FlyingDunsparce people complained about the layout of the characters for MK8 too. Dunno if what we got is what I'd call a "solution", but I know who to blame for the change at least.
@LinktotheFuture given the initial videos that made the rounds, I'd wager it's a similar issue to outlaws where speed is more important than storage when it comes to deciding whether it's a proper cart or GKC (let us not forget that FromSoft doesn't exactly have a great reputation for optimisation either). It is a pretty big file elsewhere though, so it may be simply a storage issue.
I do wonder as to whether all this outrage might be a bit premature due to those two reasons though. I can't say with certainty that they are the root cause, which is why I'll wait before condemning them, especially with how well outlaws turned out.
For those asking about DZ:R, I can't remember who, but one of the site contributors mentioned playing it in the recent "what are you playing this weekend?" post, so maybe there's a chance one is coming...? It's really surprised me with how much I've enjoyed it, was meant to be just a bit of mindless fun for after a few drinks (which it is), that damn Planty hooked me right and proper!
@Zuljaras it does also help a lot in post (I can't not see Lexie turn into a 30yo+ woman in JP). Whether it saves enough to mitigate a 2week production break is highly debatable though.
@timp29 productions have a lot of spinning plates going at once. It's entirely possible they weren't able to co-ordinate with other talent and crew as well as sort out other logistical issues with such short notice. This sort of thing happens a lot, even with stunt doubles.
@Tayrailbridge I mean, back then the game was getting a lot of hate from the community cos they didn't like how slow Notch was to update it, and positively hated the changes he made when he did. You could've probably offered him a flat coke and a limp sandwich and he would've taken it.
@Zaruboggan I decided screw it, it's getting lots of love on the PC, even if it's a bit janky on launch it should be good and bought it. I did that at 8am my time. It's now 10:30PM and I'm still waiting. Rest assured I'll give you an update when Ibplay the damn thing...
@NatalieRath and @Highlar75, the full review answers all your questions. Whether you agree with their opinions or not is another matter, either way, the review answers what you're asking.
@Sonicka what you've quoted and what you said earlier aren't the same thing. What yovue quoted doesn't have to happen after finding the room, it can happen during that search. It also doesn't suggest that the main quest is merely a tutorial.
@Sonicka which is in direct contrast to the review saying it didn't want to say much more than the task was to find the 46th room. And whilst it may be typical of roguelikes, I'd like to find that out for myself, especially when the game is getting the praise it is and people are deliberately not being forthcoming with information for a reason. Much like how I don't start a murder mystery novel at the last chapter.
