Re: Review: Batman - The Telltale Series (Switch)

Hardly Telltale's best work, but you pretty much gotta play it to get the most out of Enemy Within, which is--from a character writing perspective--one of the most refreshing takes on the Batmythos in decades, and has all the potential to be Telltale's best work since TWDS1.

Great setting, music, and atmosphere; most everything else is half-baked, rushed Meh of the highest order. Also, still the benchmark for facial animation in games media since 2011.

Re: Telltale Games Teases More Releases for Nintendo Switch

A majority of what they've made since The Wolf Among Us runs like a colicky drunk uncle on the PS4; the Switch hasn't a prayer. The same complacency that's left TTG patently unable to capture the momentum of earlier times in terms of quality extends to their total disregard for optimization... assuming they even understand the basic concept. Remember Sam & Max for the Wii and its perpetual struggle to even break into double digits in terms of frame rate?

Their engine has always been an incompatible mess unsuitable for anything but PCs.

This just solidifies my hypothesis that the Game Boy Camera is the ultimate production tool for art. Mona Lisa, Starry Night, Whistler's Mother? They should burn all those obsolete oil canvases and replace them with highly superior two-colour pixelated reproductions printed on sticker paper.

Anything less would be an insult to art.

They're a decent remastering crew but like 90% lack attention to detail when it comes to smaller things that affect a game's level of enjoyment.

This should be the greater focus of a remaster; leave the good bits alone, shine 'em up as much as you please, but when you've the chance to fix up something like having to maintain Wolf Link's speed by pushing a button every five seconds instead of providing a more sensible "hold to boost" option, take it and make the most of it.

This is part of why there is so much trouble in the world. I'm as disappointed in Jafari's values as anyone but free speech exists for a reason. Once you define "free speech" as being applicable to only one viewpoint it loses all its meaning and purpose. "Punishing" people for having an opinion is the slippery slope to fascism.

I'm sure this has ruined Mr. Swood Grommet's day. But you know, I'm sure it's a small price to pay for sticking to one's beliefs.
