100 bucks is a lot to pay for a cable for a console that with HD remasters and whatnot has become basically a console dedicated to playing just one game; namely, Twin Snakes.
Hopefully, the Zelda dev team were visited by three ghosts of past, present, and future to show them the error of their ways and thus, guarantee at least a small chance for a better game next time.
Thanks for being one of the few good men of video game journalism, Tom. Even when I disagreed with your opinion I always respected the conviction with which you held it. Sure your new employers will highly prize your integrity.
Hardly Telltale's best work, but you pretty much gotta play it to get the most out of Enemy Within, which is--from a character writing perspective--one of the most refreshing takes on the Batmythos in decades, and has all the potential to be Telltale's best work since TWDS1.
Great setting, music, and atmosphere; most everything else is half-baked, rushed Meh of the highest order. Also, still the benchmark for facial animation in games media since 2011.
Wish they'd meet the detractors* of their hit-and-miss "remastered" Vector Magic art halfway, and add a mode for displaying the original sprite art... stretched resolution bedamned.
I don't. Rayman was a mediocre IP even before they went full-on meme humor. He's just lucky some of Mario's rivals from back in the day ain't doing so hot.
Woohoo, now you can get your pointless prize for achieving your pointless task without incontrovertible confirmation that you're the kind of masochist that Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade would tell to tone it down just a smidgeonette.
A majority of what they've made since The Wolf Among Us runs like a colicky drunk uncle on the PS4; the Switch hasn't a prayer. The same complacency that's left TTG patently unable to capture the momentum of earlier times in terms of quality extends to their total disregard for optimization... assuming they even understand the basic concept. Remember Sam & Max for the Wii and its perpetual struggle to even break into double digits in terms of frame rate?
Their engine has always been an incompatible mess unsuitable for anything but PCs.
This just solidifies my hypothesis that the Game Boy Camera is the ultimate production tool for art. Mona Lisa, Starry Night, Whistler's Mother? They should burn all those obsolete oil canvases and replace them with highly superior two-colour pixelated reproductions printed on sticker paper.
You shouldn't provide a platform for the lunatic ramblings of whomever was unfortunate enough to be given the task of turning Link into a thirty-something obsessive creepy manchild. Get help!
Knowing (Oh) Ubisoft it'll probably be something like a poorly-optimized port of AC: Unity or something. Just a pragmatic, no-effort move so they can stop people asking them when they're gonna make a Switch title.
They're a decent remastering crew but like 90% lack attention to detail when it comes to smaller things that affect a game's level of enjoyment.
This should be the greater focus of a remaster; leave the good bits alone, shine 'em up as much as you please, but when you've the chance to fix up something like having to maintain Wolf Link's speed by pushing a button every five seconds instead of providing a more sensible "hold to boost" option, take it and make the most of it.
I hope they get back to making real Zelda games sooner rather than later. Already the sandbox model has tainted too many franchises that weren't built for it. It's as much a blight on video game quality as anything.
This is part of why there is so much trouble in the world. I'm as disappointed in Jafari's values as anyone but free speech exists for a reason. Once you define "free speech" as being applicable to only one viewpoint it loses all its meaning and purpose. "Punishing" people for having an opinion is the slippery slope to fascism.
I'm sure this has ruined Mr. Swood Grommet's day. But you know, I'm sure it's a small price to pay for sticking to one's beliefs.

Not as cool as the Spiderman plug and play device that has him pointing at your business.
Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild And Super Mario Odyssey Win Big At BAFTA Games Awards
Any denied accolade for Breath is a victory for good taste everywhere.

Re: Video: We Feel these Top Ten Characters Deserve to Be in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch
As always, I'd trade most of the roster, particularly the generic emblematic fiery guys, to have Snake back.
Re: Be Afraid, Will.i.am Wants To Make "The Next Pokémon GO"
The guy has a reverse Midas touch, what he did to Misirlou should be punishable by death.

Sigmund Freud would have a field day with this on a multitude of levels.
Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Gets Stunning 5-Disc Soundtrack Release
Five discs and about four memorable melodies. Video game music in the 2010s, folks.

And so Microsoft consolidates their place as the most superlative carcinogenic force on the planet.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Says Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is "Maybe The Most Fun" He's Had Making Games
Must be fun tossing out everything good about the Zelda series and putting put a product that's a Zelda game in name only.
Re: Aonuma Wants to Keep Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Freedom in Future Games
Freedom is fine. Tightly structured game progression is better.
At least try to make it feel at least halfway like an actual Zelda game next time.

Probably the last game that ever needed more content.

So what you're saying is that it's the John Cena of WWE game ports.

I'll bet ya'll jokers wouldn't be making so many facetious, cringeworthy Switch puns if it were your stuff that was stolen.

Re: L.A. Noire Is The Latest Game To Fall Foul Of The Dreaded "Switch Tax"
Eh, the die-hard cart collectors don't care. They're used to spending exorbitant amounts on something that'll gather dust for decades.

There goes the neighbourhood.
Re: First Impressions: Kicking Off With FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch
I think more people downloaded the F13 demo than ever bought the full game on the Wii U... keep in mind we're talking three-digit figures here.
Nobody's gonna buy a Switch to play a third-rate port with performance issues.

That's okay, I won't be buying until Odyssey is out, at the very least. Great job providing content for early adopters, as always.
