I made sure to buy a ticket for one of those special compartments with the seats with eject functionality, just in case the hype train gets derailed by the thousands of physical manifestations of Nintendo's mistakes that line the tracks on the line that leads back to the greatness of future past.
Let people decide for themselves whether some X hours of carefree fun is worth expediting the already life-shortening effects of China's toxic atmosphere.
Nintendo really were huge, power-tripping bullies back then. In a way, you could argue their current situation is karma for the stuff they pulled. Oh well, it all turned out for the best in the end.
At that price point it had better bestow legitimate cataclysmic power upon the wearer.
...Who am I kidding, really? Whoever sees fit to spend such an exorbitant sum on a tacky piece of entertainment memorabilia is in the 99.1% of people who'd only touch it with disinfected gloves once a year, assuming they'd even take it out of its packaging. I never understood the appeal of buying something just for the sake of owning it alone.
I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to use these 5+ year old games in this hilariously outdated article for the Switch launch line-up. Face it, it'll either be out of this world awesome, or this.
Yeah, I already got the Yarn Yoshi bundle for the Wii U way back when so I'm good. I wouldn't want this living reminder of the hellish trials of that one lava cave level from the OG Yoshi's Island.
It's funny that so many of these cold, clinical, obviously painstaking yet ultimately pointless flirts with copyright infringement focus on Ocarina, whose graphics are probably the last working-over the game needs not only for it to live up to its ridiculously rose-tinted reputation, but for it to stand out in terms of its own series.
For my part, I tend to customize the X and Y buttons to function as the trigger buttons anyway... but how well that works varies from game to game. It's nice to have the option but it should always remain thus.
...Ahh, as if it matters. Most of my GBA games were lost in my life's Second Great Mysterious Video Game Disappearance, anyway.
To be fair, I've seen worse as far as disposable, low quality fast food toy items go. They must have gone all out and hired the sweatshop factories that actually allow their workers to use the toilet while on duty (no pun intended) for this one.
Hour of power, is it? Hopefully they won't waste time going in-depth on the games, of which at least one will be Generic Anime Moemoe Waifu Simulator #672,891.
That's funny, 'cause as a kid "Mario on the toilet" was one of the many imaginary "lyrics" I invented for the Underground theme from SMB. I can"t have been the only one doing this, right?
(I'll concede that neither then nor now do I have the talent for lyricizing video game music as does one Brent L. Floss.)
...So at this point, if there's no announcement during the NS stream, the fabled MOTHER 3 re-release is basically Nintendo's Half-Life 3. Darn, why is it always the third one?
Translations to languages other than English should've died out in the '90s. If you're older than ten and/or have some sort of brain disorder you've no excuse not to learn proper English. Think of all the things you'll miss out on; not least of which is the undiluted original author's prose. The entire redundant process perpetuates a culture of complacency and underachievement.
Of course, you might make the same argument of any work subject to international localization. Technically, a translation is in itself inherently a reinterpretation of a work. But meh, I guess I'm just annoyed that localization causes delays like this for selfish, short-sighted reasons.
That's too bad; his work on YWW is some of the best VGM to come out this side of the millennium. Now if there's ever a sequel (Woolly World 2: Knit Harder?) it won't quite be the same. Oh well, best of luck to him.
3D was always the shallowest of gimmicks. Even with improved tech and implementation over the 3DS lifespan, it was just never worth the bother; certainly not its drain on the battery life.
Imagine if they could have instead used that GFX power for something useful like a higher resolution... let it die with the 3DS.
The funny thing... these lazy, entitled misers have probably spent ten times the asking price of SMR on "digital style"-related microtransactions in the last six months alone.
It's too bad loyalty to a "failing" brand more often than not results in a slow, inevitable death these days. It's not just for the sake of Nintendo and the fans that the Switch has to be a success.
Very reassuring to see the Switch can handle a low-budget, derivative indie title that seems to have all but asset-flipped textures from The Wind Waker.
All aboard the good ship HYPErion. Full speed ahead!
You know you're dealing with "that" kind of person when they're a card-carrying Derpnaerys Snoregaryen fan who can't even spell the usurper child's long-obsolete honorific title right.
We can't just ban this thing from the internet already, can we?
Heh, thought this was the 101 Facts guys stepping way out of their comfort zone. Not that combining 'Vania aesthetics with the offensively horrendeous "art" style of Seibert's oeuvre sounds like a match made in heaven, either.
@CrazedCavalier I've never seen an ostensibly adult man whine and complain about a development cycle on a video game like he does. He gets hung up on the weirdest, meaningless things and seems to include an aside on how lamentable his lot in life is in seemingly every update. I feel sorry for whomever has to schedule their work day after someone as unprofessional as him.
He just comes off as an addict alternately to self-pity or attention, mostly both. I can't respect a man like that, nor can I abide the haughty opinion he has of his own work. He is his own worst enemy and has done little to warrant passive-agressive defending from random people on the internet who don't even know him.
