This game was developed literally up the street from me.
Anyways, yeah. It wasn't a masterpiece when it was new, and so many other games have come along to improve upon it in every way since that I'm sorry to say it's just nothing to write home about. Even my 10 year old nephew's neighbour could see the seemingly requisite dark and "edgy" twist ending coming, so what else is there to say?
Hey, as long as the thing don't require four AA batteries for some five-six hours of play, it can look like the diseased colon of a dying donkey for all I care.
Played the demo; found it a slow, clunky, unfulfilling bit of nothing. I'm shocked the same people made the best 2D platformer of the decade in Yoshi's Woolly World.
And in the meantime, YouTube itself has become a bigger hindrance to content creators that don't already move the advertising needle, than Draconiantendo ever was.
Never liked the HD upscalery of the AA series, me. There is something pure and genuine about the pixel aesthetic, warts and all. At least it's not trapped behind the sub-HD limitations of the 3DS anymore.
Please, post these more often. It's hard find articles as conducive towards expanding one's ignore list as one that's "political"; people tend to show their true colours no matter how tenuous the connection.
No matter your political beliefs... if you can't express them in a civil and level-headed manner, they're not worth listening to.
Uematsu has the greatest body of work of any video game composer apart from maybe Kondo; indeed, pigeonholing him as "just" a video game composer is doing him a disservice. I wish him nothing but joy and health.
It's got its flaws--the fanbase is one of "those" fanbases and it wouldn't even exist if not for MOTHER/EarthBound--but on balance I respect its tenacity in challenging story and gameplay conventions. When it works it's something pretty special.
Also; EASILY one of the best soundtracks of the decade... I'd say it'd stand out hugely even in a decade not largely composed of developers watering down their IPs for a quick buck.
Waluigi cultists, I would say your tears are delicious but they are, in fact, profoundly corrosive, and the smell is out of this world. There is no greater punishment that can be meted out.
To be honest, after all their incessant whining and death threats, they really don't deserve it. Sakurai should troll their worthless and immature cottage cheese keisters and give them Tingle or something instead.
Well, it would have been nice if Nintendo had a legal alternative to make up for it... but you just know that if they do VC on Switch at all, it'll just be Wrecking Crew and all the other overpriced usual suspects released on a semi-weekly basis. Sure the hardcore emulator crowd know plenty of more low-key rom hosting sites anyways.
Speaking of EmuParadise--since they do still have the domain name and all--they can now repurpose their site to become the internet's primary resource on the keeping of emus and not lose a step.

Re: Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Arrives On Switch This September
I kinda hate it but I also can't help but feel that they should have put an S in front of the "witch" for the occasion.

That's what every Direct feels like now anyway.

Re: Rayman's Original Composer Passes Away
I remember his work on OG Rayman, sure. Better than the annoying trash used to soundtrack the newer games to say the very least of it. RIP
Re: Soapbox: In Praise Of Save States, Rewinds And Walkthroughs
It's the only thing that can make Zelda II halfway playable, that's for true.
Re: Feature: Games To Play After You've Finished Zelda: Breath of the Wild
God of War is the best Zelda game of the 2010s.

4/10 Needs more Ferra/Torr.
Re: Hindsight 20/20 Is A New Zelda-Inspired Action-Adventure Coming To Switch In 2020
It's almost as if devs think the Switch needs a Zelda game that actually feels like a Zelda game or something.

Re: Kotal Kahn Gets Humiliated In His Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Trailer
Great, Kotal finally gets a redesign that makes him look less like a goofy loser and he gets upstaged in his own trailer.
It's good to be the Kahn... but when, exactly?

Re: Random: The Entire Mega Man '90s Cartoon Is Available To Watch On YouTube
It ain't good but it's got a good heart. If it were made today, those two problems would be subject to a total and complete paradigm shift.

So many versions and it's still just an overrated "totally radical" mess that actively sabotages its own fun factor.
Re: Feature: A 20th Anniversary Zelda Adventure - Playing Ocarina Of Time For The First Time
It's overrated, clunky, and was made wholly redundant in every way by the release of Majora two years later...
...And it's still a better Zelda game than Breath of the Wild!
Re: Video: Assassin's Creed Odyssey Contains An Adorable Nintendo Easter Egg
Element of inspiration, indeed... Breath is basically already a Ubisoft game in all but name.

Re: Zelda-Like Adventure Game Minit Heading to the Japanese Switch eShop
As short as it is, it gave me more of a legitimate feeling of Zelda adventure than Breath of the Wild ever managed in the 60+ hours I wasted on it.

Make it as different from Breath of the Wild as possible.
Re: Review: Bouncy Bob (Switch eShop)
For the good(?) of everyone, they should re-release The Letter on Switch so everything will look comparatively better by default.
Re: Video: Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze's New Easter Egg is Only On Switch
How fitting, since the animated show is to the original games pretty much what the Returns games are to the original games.
