Finally getting round to the Phantom Liberty DLC on Xbox Series X. Once I’m done, that’s it for the Xbox - off to eBay with it. With Switch 2 and PS5 Pro, I’m well covered fir games. The Series X is lovely, but surplus to requirements.

Played this as a US import back in the day. Really enjoyed it, but never finished it (was pretty hard as I recall). But always have fond memories of it.

Not played a Layton game since DS days, so this is pretty much day one for me. Also happy it’s delayed due to huge backlog!

Yeah, no doubt I’ll get the twin pack. But in no hurry, happy to wait for one to pop up on eBay or CEX. Too many games in the backlog, plus Ghost of Yotei on PS5 Pro soon!

No new Mario game is crazy. No wonder Nintendo is charging for all this DLC. A Mario Odyssey 2 game is a license to print money. However, I never payed Galaxy 2 and it's been years since Galaxy 1, so I'll no doubt pick that up at some point. But my backlog grows ever larger...

@quinnyboy58 Yep, my thoughts exactly. Great for Air Rider fans, but I’m more exited for the upgrade to Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Aug 28.

If you want to add a valid comparison, you should show market capitalisation – share price is useless without knowing how many shares have been issued.

I picked up this and Mario Party Jamboree cheap second hand specifically for the upgrades. I’m on holiday in Switzerland and Italy when it drops so it’ll be something to look forward to when we get back.

I bought Jamboree Switch 1 edition – cheap 2nd hand – specifically for the upgrade. It's not quite what I wanted (should have been fully integrated into the base game), but there's enough fun stuff to warrant the £16 update. Also, I think Jamboree still looks great playing docked on Switch 2, so it's all good. (Oh, and no webcam nonsense for me.)

The title translates to 'Muddy Dog' – maybe call it that for the Western release?

It's lovely to hold in the hand, and worth £75 to avoid the RSI you'll get from the Joy-Cons. Played DKB all day with zero issues.

@LazyDaisy I would have thought 1 to 9. Anything over that becomes double digit.

Popped into my local CEX on Monday. There was already a Switch 2 camera for resale and three copies of Mario Kart World.

So, for clarification…
1) Do you need the camera for the Switch 2 edition? Are there certain games that simply get filtered out?
2) I assume using a Pro controller plus Joy-Cons means you can’t play any of the mouse games?

Nope. Only certain VR games make me nauseous. That and certain gamers' comments.

@Duncanballs Also the reviewer explained why it got a ten. He genuinely loved it; one of his favourite games of all time. Not quite a Mario Odyssey, but pretty damn close.

I was intrigued, then interested, then sold, now excited! Will grab a copy tomorrow and, ahem, dig in!

@SamusHunter182 I thinks that's wildly optimistic. The Switch 1 has lasted eight years and Switch 2 may well last the same. I think you've got a decade before the name becomes an issue! Choose a title that resonates with gamers now and can drive sales. I'd worry about a potential name change when (if) it happens!

@TheBoilerman The name is terrible! Naming mags is tough (I know, I've named a few) but that sucks. How about Switched or SwitchedOn or Beswitched! N-deavour? (ugh). Maybe re-use some of the now defunct games mags? Anyway, best of luck with it.

It wouldn't take that much effort to have a DLC that made MKW into Plotwings.

I'm going to be playing docked 95% of the time so I couldn't really care less.

I have a minor gripe in that winning in single player mode doesn’t feel very special. You get a ceremony and an award, but there’s no nice screen to show off and keep track of your progress. All you get are stars under the course icons. That doesn’t feel very Nintendo. Also, after completing all the 50cc courses I couldn’t believe I got the ‘game over’ credits. Surely you should only get them after doing the 150cc courses? Oh and I like the stickers idea, but there’s nowhere to use them? Another missed opportunity.

He’s 72. You’d better get used to seeing less and less of his influence on games in the future.

Now do some coloured versions so I can justify buying another one!

Welcome Tour is fun, has loads of mini games, and costs a measly £8. No wonder it’s doing so well. I’ve enjoyed it so far, although of course it would have been a brilliant pack-in title.

All my stuff is on its way from Very. Of course the delivery time is from 11:19am and 3:19pm. Great. Supposed to be seeing a new car tomorrow.

Maybe Nintendo has created a fairly blank open world to populate with DLC over the coming years. Might be a bit empty now, but maybe not in the future?

That was the first thing I bought after the console. Will probably get a second if they start appearing in different colour combos.

For the most part I didn’t give a hoot about GameCube emulation… until I remembered Super Monkey Ball. I would happily play that again any day of the week!

As an aside, I noticed that the Pro controller is out of stock on Nintendo’s UK store. Given the great feedback it has received, I’m just as excited to get my hands on that as I am the console!

5th June I get Switch 2, Pro controller, Nintendo carry case and Mario Kart World. I have four Switch games ready for upgrades, two day one, two later. I guess I’ll be updating the system and downloading game patches, then it’ll mainly be MKW on my nice OLED TV. Happy days!

I don’t have major need for extra memory yet, but I will probably crumble and get the Nintendo all-in-one carry case. Next stop: DK Bananza.

This would be ideal for the once-a-year trip up to my non-Switch-owning mate’s for Mario Kart/Mario Party fun, but it needs to be half the price. A second pro controller/two spare Joycons feels much more of a priority!

Yeah, I'm really old! Got more than a decade on you, but my thumbs still work and I'm still loving my games and new tech. Roll on the 5th.

I’m fine with AI when it’s used to facilitate complex tasks or for generating ideas and concepts on which artists can build. It’s not okay to use as finished, unedited work, especially when the sources are other people’s original material. It’s all a bit of a minefield to be honest.

@Stwert you and me both. First ever coin-op was a Pong clone up in the wilds of Scotland of all places. Been obsessed ever since (53 years and counting!)

If you haven’t played CP2077 before, you’re in for a treat. Not sure you’ll get the grandeur of the city playing handheld, but it’s an astonishing game. I loved it on Box Series X

Gaming is my time to get away from people, not engage with the toxic buggers. I did a bit of chat on the Xbox 360, but now I'm way too old and antisocial. (Except for Mario Party Jamboree played locally).

Having ditched the Switch years ago, I’ve been busy picking up second hand copies of Kirby Forgotten Land, Mario Party Jamboree, Super Mario World 3D and Captain Toad Treaure Tracker ready for the Switch 2 upgrades. That lot plus MKW will keep me busy for this year. Or until the next 3D Mario instalment.

I think you’ll find that the patent and trademark for riding on a flying mount belongs to Bellerophon and his winged horse Pegasus. So Nintendo should be paying the Greek government if anything.

Playing on PS5 Pro and thoroughly enjoying it. All the early bad stuff has been patched out, and it looks fabulous – does not, in my opinion, deserve all the hate it’s received. Fingers crossed it performs well enough on Switch 2.

I would love to see a new Pilotwings on Switch 2. Adored the previous versions and a new game would really sing on this updated hardware.

This is *****. These are digital downloads in a fancy case. At the very least give us keycards, so we can sell on or share them.

I’m playing it on PS5 Pro and really enjoying it. I get some people might not like it, but the online hate campaign isn’t justified at all. It’s generally gorgeous (Tatooine and Mos Eisley especially) and I’ve had a blast playing it.
