Re: Feature: Meet The 'Arzette' Dev Salvaging The Zelda CD-i Games' "Genuine Potential"

Seanmyster6

It's my belief that just about every game that's considered bad could've potentially been better under a different set of circumstances. I'm hard-pressed to think of any bad games that I believe were truly doomed to be bad from the get-go.

EDIT: On second thought, if I had to choose at least three games that I believe were doomed to be bad from the start, they would be Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Chibi-Robo Ziplash, and Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival; since, unlike many bad games which feature poor execution of potentially good gameplay ideas, the three mentioned above feature flawless execution of fundamentally bad gameplay ideas.

Re: John Wick Creator Working On Streets Of Rage Movie

The Streets of Rage games actually have some batsh*t crazy sci-fi elements beneath the surface. That's something that should make it into this movie if they really want it to feel like Streets of Rage.
(and also the music, but almost all video game adaptations seem to be allergic to including music from the games, so I won't be holding my breath on that one 😔)

Re: Nintendo Waves Through Yet More Asset Flips Onto Switch eShop

Seanmyster6

There are two simple solutions that Nintendo could implement into the eShop to combat this shovelware problem:

1. Bring back the 5-Star user rating system from the Wii U and 3DS eShops (user reviews like on Steam would be ideal, but just ratings would be an acceptable compromise)

2. Allow users the option to block specific publishers (third-parties might object to this, but since the only people who would use this option on any given publisher are people who never had any intention of purchasing from them in the first place, they would realistically not be losing out on any profits from it)

Re: Fantasy Strike Is Now Free-To-Play, Download It Today From The Switch eShop

I had initially written this game off, as to me it just seemed too "dumbed-down" for a fighting game. But after playing it a bit in its current free-to-play form, I have to admit that it has more than enough depth within its simplicity for me to call it a competent fighter.

However, it's still a far cry from the "reboot of the fighting genre" that it advertises itself to be, and I certainly don't think these type of simplified fighting games are gonna be replacing the more complex traditional fighters as the norm any time soon.

Re: Harvest Moon Publisher Natsume Working On "Exciting New Projects" For This Year And Beyond

Seanmyster6

The only Natsume game I bought last year was The Ninja Saviors, which was excellent. 👍
I might possibly be interested in something not Harvest Moon-related from them this year, but who knows.

Btw, this is probably old news by now, but just in case anyone still hasn't heard yet:
Some time after the 3DS came out, the creators of Harvest Moon broke off from Natsume so that they could self-publish their games in the west, but Natsume held on to the rights to the Harvest Moon name. Meaning that the most recent "Harvest Moon" games are in-name-only, with the original series now going by the name "Story Of Seasons".
So, if you're a long-time Harvest Moon fan who's bummed out by the new direction in which Natsume has taken the brand, or a new fan wishing to see what all the fuss is about, check out Story Of Seasons instead.

Re: Random: Star Wars Director Appears To Use Pokémon GO To Comment On Angry Fans

@Tandoori That'd be all fine and good, except that nobody's allowed to simply dislike a mainstream product anymore. Anyone who isn't absolutely thrilled with the latest movie/game/whatever, MUST be either "entitled" or some form of "-ist" or "-phobe", and should therefore be constantly shamed and slandered at every opportunity until the end of time.
If others can't get over us having disliked something, then we're not gonna get over disliking it.
