Not my kind of games but obviously very well received. Also can't see why it can't run on the Switch, in fact they would be mad not to port it to Switch with the 140 million userbase and the success of the first game on the system.
What is crazy is those who just can't accept other people have a legitimate criticism of the game.
The difference between 30fps and 60fps is massive. Congrats to those who can't see the difference but to those of us who can then it is an issue.
There is also a tangible gameplay benefit as games control better with the increased framerate. Comparing playing a game to watching a tv show or movie is nonsensical.
Also when the original game did run at 60fps of course there is going to be disappointment the remake can't at least do the same.
I would much rather the focus was on getting the remake to run at a locked 60fps than a few fancy lighting effects, that would be a proper improvement on the original game.
And yes 30fps is perfectly playable, but nothing wrong with wanting more than that.
As I said yesterday, I do find it disappointing it is only 30fps especially as the original was 60fps so I can't see it as anything but a downgrade. Also IGN did report some stuttering in their preview which is doubly disappointing. Hopefully that was just a quirk in the version they played.
I will pick it up when it goes on sale but not paying full price. Got plenty to play in the meantime.
I know it doesn't bother many but this game with 2d sprites against 3d background would look fantastic at 60fps and the fact that the original was a 60fps game makes this immensely disappointing.
Hoping it was just uploaded at the wrong framerate but doubtful.
So the single player Harry Potter sells 22 million copies last year, the biggest selling game of the year, and thier live service dross of a game SS:KtJL tanks (as predicted by everyone) and their take away is to move away from single players titles to live service ones?

@Serpenterror
Think it was more of a "you want to use the Lego IP then your game needs to be on Switch too" from Lego Co. rather than Sony.

Why?
Euros are about to start.

Pointless plastic tat acting as physical DLC.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Look At Zelda 64 Recompiled: Majora's Mask
Looks incredible.
Now Nintendo needs to do this with their first party line up of N64 games. Widescreen 60fps Wave Race 64 and Star Fox 64? Yes please.
But of course they won't.
Re: Nintendo Celebrates Paper Mario: TTYD Release With "Retro" GameCube Cover
Can I pay 30 platinum points to get the Gamecube game's framerate?
Re: Nintendo Announces Acquisition Of Shiver Entertainment
If Nintendo sees value in them then go for it.
Interesting they will still be working on other plaftforms. Maybe just completing existing contracts.
Re: Review: PO'ed: Definitive Edition (Switch) - A Welcome Return For A Weird And (Sometimes) Wonderful FPS
OK Night Dive, please now remaster EVERY N64 game that you haven't already (including Nintendo titles). I'd start with Body Harvest.
Nintendo missed a trick not buying these guys, they do remasters right.
Re: Rumour: Princess Zelda May Take The Starring Role In An Upcoming Game

Well guess we will wait and see.
Can't see them "showtiming" Zelda myself. Be something with more substance.
Re: Rumour: Princess Zelda May Take The Starring Role In An Upcoming Game
@Poodlestargenerica
Aye same goes for Luigi and Toad and Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong etc. Nothing good could come from it.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Soundtrack Is Real And Contains 344 Tracks
Get with the times Nintendo and release all your music catalogue on Spotify etc.
Trust me you will still make a killing releasing the music on special edition CDs/vinyl etc as well.

I would buy this game in a heartbeat if it was hand crafted levels but just not interested in procedurally generated.
Re: Rumoured 'Hi-Fi Rush' Switch Port In Doubt As Microsoft Culls Tango Gameworks And Other Studios
Microsoft should never have been allowed to make all these acquistions.
They can barely manage the studios they already had ffs and now here we are. Gonna get worse before (IF!) it gets better.
Re: Nintendo Shares Luigi's Mansion 2 HD 'Rude Awakening' Video
It should at least be a 1 and 2 double pack because this looks like a very modest HD update Nintendo will no doubt be charging full price for.
Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate For Paper Mario: TTYD On Switch?
That NL video was embarrassing and disingenuous. Not a genuine discussion at all.
60fps is better, end of.

Well people are really throwing a hissy fit over this review.

Fair do's.
I do agree stable 30fps better than an unstable 60fps.

Well after my complaint in the Snowboard Kids article Nintendo goes and does this! More please!
Re: Atlus Game Snowboard Kids Scores A New Vinyl Soundtrack
Me and my mate played this game so much back in the day, and its sequel.
Nintendo needs to get its arse into gear and get games like this on the Switch online N64 service.

God forbid a game releases in a polished state day 1.

Good to know, cheers.
Re: The Witcher's Netflix Series Announces "Fifth And Final Season"
As someone who has never read the books or played the games I gave up after the first season.
A convoluted mess and as much as I like Henry Cavill his acting here and/or the writing and/or character just didn't do much for me.
And deary me did I hate that bloody "coin to your witcher" song.
Guess I wasn't the target market!
Re: Forget In-Game Currency, Disney Speedstorm's Next Premium Season Pass Requires Real Money

Re: Sea Of Thieves Could Lead To More Xbox Exclusives On Other Platforms
Also depends on whether Series consoles sales and Game Pass subs continue to stagnate.
But this is now a self fulfilling prophecy. The perception is Xbox games are now coming to Sony and Nintendo platforms so why bother buying an Xbox?
Big Phil (or his bosses) have pretty much killed their own platform.
Re: Rumour: Xbox May Be About To Join The Switch In The Handheld Space
No it is just Big Phil spouting more nonsense.

Re: Tears Of The Kingdom, Mario Wonder & Dave The Diver Compete For Top Prize At BAFTAs
The only important thing to me is if I enjoy a game.
All these awards mean naff all to me, won't make me like or not like any of these game any more than I already do if they win or don't win.
Best game of the year is Resident Evil 4 (original) anyway. It is the best game of every year.
Re: Video: Contra: Operation Galuga Spotlights Playable Characters In Explosive New Trailer
A 30fps side scrolling Contra game is unforgivable. It is not like the game is a stunner.
If I get it it will be on another platform.

Re: UK Charts: Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Slips Down The Ladder To Third
Funny seeing the Arkham Trilogy higher than Suicide Squad, really shows how WB backed the wrong horse.
I hope Rocksteady don't end up paying the price for it.
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?
SNES Killer Instinct made this the best Direct/Showcase in years for me.
Not even joking.
Re: Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase February 2024 - Time, Where To Watch, What To Expect
Looking forward to Killer Instinct, Rare Replay, Halo Infinite, Forza and Flight Simulator.
