Re: Nintendo States Its Intention To Acquire More Development Teams

Happy days.

Reminds me of trying to get Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube. Been hyped for months about it but it was sold out everywhere in Northern Ireland, even got scammed on ebay trying to buy it. Eventually three months later finally got a call to say it was back in stock, picked it up and played it for two days solid. Even better than I hoped it would be.

I still play through it once a year and it is my favourite game. Nothing comes close, not even the remake.

"Third-party publishers have largely been opting for Game-Key Cards for their Switch 2 games, which requires users to download the title from the eShop while inserting what is effectively a blank cartridge into the console itself. It's been met with considerably negative reception from passionate gaming fans."

Errr I'm a passionate gaming fan and consider it a non issue.

I'm not sure why you keep bringing Sony into this but OK.

I noted how it went downhill after Peter Moore left who knew it was about exclusives and providing a reason to buy an Xbox, but then he left and they replaced him with.....Don Mattrick.

Phil Spencer was no better, apart from his one good move which was backwards compatability however every move he made has led Xbox to right here: The Xbox Rog Ally that can't play your Xbox console library.

The Genius.

People were wary of Xbox because they feared Microsoft would end up doing exactly what they ended up doing. Trying to buy success and tie everyone down to a subscription service where you own nothing.

Now they will be leaving the console space and many studios won't survive because of their inept management and lack of understanding of the console market. Just have to see these recent comments about exclusives being antiquated to see that.

I loved my 360, but the glory days are long gone. They left with Peter Moore really.

The 360 early years was a sign they were learning. Ironically the Kinect is the perfect example that they learnt nothing.

They chased the Wii casual market by selling a device that barely worked and stopped focusing on strong exclusive games. Yes 20 odd million bought a Kinect but realised it was practically useless for playing games, it was Microsoft's E.T. moment.

However Microsoft continued with it despite people abandoning the Kinect shortly after purchase and then were shocked when there was backlash when they tried to force it on customers with the Xbox One.

@Filthy

Players should certainly want better but I don't know why they expect it, all evidence to the contrary yet people keep blindly buying the games.

If you want change you got to change something.

Edit: To be clear I have zero interest in Pokemon games, just find the discourse around every release amusing as even with all the complaints people still buy it anyway.
