Your point stands in irrelevance. And to be honest I wasn't paying much attention to your replies.
End of the day the Metroid series is not as big a deal to the gaming community as online discourse would lead many to believe. And you can understand the term "not as big a deal" in any way you want.
Quibble over words used all you want but that is the truth of it.
Nothing else to add here on the topic so have a good one.
Nintendo are just reporting on the consoles sold to retailers which is all they can do which is also factually the amount of consoles they sold. As it always has been done.
You want to apply some mad conspiracy to it because everyone you see on the street isn't carrying one around then that is on you.
What I will say is retailers don't buy millions of consoles to sit in stock rooms or on stores shelves just to not be sold. That's not how business works. So again, common sense.
Explain why after the 100+ million selling Wii there was never any sales figures like this recorded for Wii U then. Surely the retailers would want to stock up after the popularity of the Wii?
Or maybe it was because retailers weren't buying them from Nintendo because the customers weren't buying them off them? Of course it was.
This is the only metric the likes of Nintendo and Sony can use and they get their sales from retailers.
No these are how many consoles are sold through to retailers (which is the sale to Nintendo) or customers directly through their own websites.
You aren't revealing any brand new information as this is how Sony and Microsoft also get their figures. Not that Microsoft bothers to reveal theirs anymore.
And retailers wouldn't be buying this many consoles if they weren't selling them on to customers, would they?
End of the day Metroid Prme 4 could have been the best reviewed game of all time and still likely not sold much more than it has. It is the ultimate example of overhyped game series online that does not translate to the real world. Always been the case sadly.
I know it is easy to put blame on Nintendo but they have been so lax with censorship throughout the entire Switch 1 generation, and Switch 2 so far, it makes zero sense they would now become so strict with one of the hottest properties in gaming which affects their and AdHoc's bottom line.
No you're first comment absolutely was trying to take aim at people, such as myself, who said this game specifically was a cash grab. Not sure why you are trying to deny it.
And as I said in my first comment it absolutely was a cash grab. It was a barebones HD remaster farmed out to a third party studio and Nintendo were charging more for it than the original game cost. How could it not be considered a cash grab?
I love Nintendo but they can be absolute chancers at times and this release a year ago was one of them. You can be a fan of a games company but still call out their nonsense.
"mug" is a gullible, foolish, or easily deceived person.
A well known term in UK been around for decades.
Also for someone apparently old it seems incredibly petty and childish to try and use an update to a year old game (which you could not have predicted at the time) to try and claim a win over people who rightfully called the original release of the game a cashgrab.
It was a cash grab. It was a remaster handed over to a cheap third party studio to develop and released with a broken co-op mode and costing more than the original game did.
Fixing the game a year later was the necessary thing to do not an act of kindness.
I'd much rather these games were available stand alone on the eshop. I have no interest in the Yakuza games but would pick up a lot of the arcade games that feature within them given the chance.
Exactly. None of the Xenoblade games have broken 2 million sales bar no.2 but Nintendo is all in on that franchise. Not every game series has to be a sales juggernaut, just provide another option to complement the juggernauts and make the platform feel worthwhile.
Now time to give us another Wave Race, Star Fox and F-Zero too.
For 2D platformers and general dpad use they are perfectly functional but for fighting games, absolutely useless. And that is one of my main genres so yeah it is an issue.

How?

Point out where I mentioned the budget.

@BrewsterTea
I remember them saying it would be case by case.
They got this one wrong.
Re: Subnautica & Subnautica: Below Zero Appear To Be Getting Switch 2 Upgrades
This would be excellent.
Anything less than 600fps though and I'll be disappointed.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario Tennis Fever
In no world should this be a 60 quid game.
Re: Limited Run Games Is Bringing NES 'Jaws' To Switch Later This Week
Greatest movie of all time.
Saw it in the cinema for the 50th Anniversary (wasn't born when it came out) and it was incredible.
Masterpiece.
The game is rubbish but might buy it just to have the icon on my Switch!

This has so much potential.
Re: Preview: So Far, Super Mario Bros. Wonder On Switch 2 Isn't Making A Great Case For Itself
Yeah no real interest in this, especially if it doesn't even run at 120fps which seems like a massive missed opportunity.

Which it never is, so not new information.
Re: Switch 2 Storms Towards Its Forecast Target With 17.37 Million Units Sold

Sold to retailers in actuality. That is the sale.
Don't know why so many people think this is some big revelation. It is how numbers have always been recorded.

overhyped
make exaggerated claims about (a product, idea, or event); publicize or promote excessively.
"the film was overhyped by the press"
entirely accurate term to use. It's not limited to just critical reception.

Yet many people act surprised at low sales numbers of Metroid games after each release.

Yes overhyped as in how big the series is relative to other game series.
I love the Metroid series but proof is in the pudding.
Re: Switch 2 Storms Towards Its Forecast Target With 17.37 Million Units Sold
@AussieMcBucket
Maybe Switch 1 and 2 combined it did but seemingly not as individual versions before the end of December which these figures apply to.
Could have by now though.
Re: It's Official, The Switch Is Nintendo's Best-Selling Console Of All Time
Switch 2 struggling at second bottom there.
Yikes.

(Don't feel the need to inform me, I'm not that invested in this lol)

Is it 4K or 120fps?
The Switch 2 has gameshare and mouse mode but apart from that no reason this can't be on Switch 1 as DLC.

Quite a few times with Fifa/EA FC over the years.
But if you think I'm gonna trawl through every week of the last few years to prove it to you then you can dream on.
Edit: Out of my own interest had a quick look. First week I randomly picked: Wed Feb 12th 2025. There you go.

I don't really consider releasing a Switch 2 version of a years old game as "spicing things up". If anything it is incredibly bland.

Turbo is Street Fighter 2 perfected, but the original is still an absolute classic.
Re: Feature: I Play This One Particular SNES Game Every Xmas As A Personal Tradition
Great story. And I was pretty much the same age when I got my SNES/Street Fighter 2 bundle for Christmas (though maybe about 94). Treasured it.
My folks were also awesome enough to get me some proper hidden gems like Mystical Ninja and Plok alongside the console. And Sim City!
Merry Christmas everyone!
