Pokémon GO maker Niantic seems to be fully aware of the weather that poor old Europeans must endure at this time of year, because the company is partnering with multiple shopping and destination centers across the continent to help players keep warm.

New PokéStops and Gyms will be added to 10 European cities starting February 18th as a partnership with Unibail-Rodamco. The aim is to bring 10 to 15 new PokéStops to these locations to "add a fun, social, and dynamic addition" to the overall shopping experience.

In celebration of this partnership special events will be held across 20 of the European locations. These events are due to "include a contest to find Pokémon around each location, lures which will be active the whole day at each location and other events".

The following 20 European cities will be participating:

  • Vienna, Austria—Donau Zentrum
  • Prague, Czech Republic—Centrum Černý Most
  • Copenhagen, Denmark—Fisketorvet
  • Paris, France—Les 4 Temps I Forum des Halles I Velizy 2 I Aeroville
  • Lyon, France—La Part-Dieu
  • Nice, France—Polygone Riviera
  • Lille, France—Euralille
  • Berlin, Germany—Gropius Passagen
  • Munich, Germany—Pasing Arcaden
  • Oberhausen, Germany—CentrO
  • Leipzig, Germany—Höfe am Brühl
  • Warsaw, Poland—Arkadia
  • Barcelona, Spain—La Maquinista
  • Madrid, Spain—Parquesur
  • Valencia, Spain—Bonaire
  • Stockholm, Sweden—Mall of Scandinavia
  • Amsterdam, The Netherlands—Stadshart Amstelveen

With this update dropping on February 18th, does this mean that Generation II will be released simultaneously? Will we be seeing Hoothoots everywhere come Saturday? We will have to wait and see.
