@DomGC Considering the game isn't that old at all, not even 2 months old at this point the statement of "so long after release" is an awful one. Further to add, just because you won't use what it's giving, it doesn't make it pointless.
Can we not just be happy they are providing free additional content rather than grumbling because you feel it isn't for you? Or because you played so much of it and burned yourself out (surely that's to the games credit?). It seems like you expect to much, it's MH meets Pokemon but also more, which is only a good thing.
Note in the comments alone its made at least one person go back to it. An of course they would want to support a part (pvp) of the game that they feel is something, it's just a shame that you don't think much to it.
Again, they should be applauded, they don't need to do this, an I am thankful they do.
I adore the Castlevania series (an the ensuing love of metriodvania's soon after, I had played a couple prior but didn't exactly clock them as being a metroidvania - EnEpic being one and Valdis Story being the other).
I'm undoubtedly an Igavania fan despite Lords of Shadow being the first Castlevania I played (still rather enjoyed it mind), it wasn't until Harmony of Dissonance that I fell in love, then promptly sort out the other games to play. This was no more than 5 years ago.
For my tastes though, while I have an appreciation for the older stuff, it is also definitely worse to me than the later ones, and imo don't deserve to be so highly rated, Kid dracula taking up 11 & 10 and beating our CotM & HoD is a crime.
The statement for the Mirror of fate being able to be bought cheaply is simply not true either.
I think for it to release on pc only 6 months later is a bit of a joke, a year fine. But 6 months is far too soon in my opinion. Great more people get to play it but 6 month exclusivity may as well have said it isn't exclusive in the first place.
I think this does look really rather good, the issue, the characters are too young in their graphical style. The way Pokemon has done it with the teen to young adult look is the best way as it makes it more appealing/relatable for all rather than it looking like just a kids game.
@faint I can only assume you mean it is very different because Ori 1 & 2 hadn't been released physically yet?
I personally disagree, I get gotys & complete editions are a thing, but they normally at least happen a year later, not announced only 7-8 months after the original physicals releasing. From a comparatively indie studio too it makes it worse. You expect (or rather are sadly not suprised) bad practices from bigger publishers, but not smaller ones who would welcome the custom, but this is only burning bridges with the publisher and early adopters.
They knew exactly what they were doing with this announcement too, it's not like some new technology has come about allowing them to put both the games on the cart, it was always there and they simply elected to do it this way in the hope to get more money. Yes I also know it's business, but are we meant to just roll over and be happy about it?
This is shady, great for people that didn't pick it up but a slap in the face to everyone that did which probably is a lot of people.
Same publisher too, so they clearly had it in mind that this was going to be what they were going to do in the first place. Heck it was only 7-8 months ago it came out. Shocking practice!
Thanks so much @Ziondood (& to @Liam_Doolan for posting the article), I somehow never knew about the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, for some reason I thought there was only the Ultra Street Fighter 2 game. No matter the 30th has since been purchased
@Chowdaire " If it was made for PC in mind they would have done more with with graphics and would have settled for a ps4/5 port instead of switch."
I don' think they would, as it is, it stays true to form of the original but also improved graphically, they had no need to make it look further different.
@Kiyata I think the issue here is that you have rated undeniably great games with pitiful scores which then nullifies a lot of your other opinions. Like sure you can not like a game, but it doesn't make it a 1/10, you're better off simply not rating them at all.
@sanderev Yes, because this very minor feature would make the system slow. Definitely far slower than it is already to find a game you haven't played in the last 10 games/apps.... It's a switch, not a potato XD
@thenewguy Slippery slope there but welcome to the club I would argue that going through Ryza 2 and P5S is a backlog-ish, but that's definitely a backlog 90% of people here could only dream of XD
For me it's definitely MHS2, wasn't Skyward (albeit totally open to loving it), then I seen the steel book Ys 9 finally, Great Ace Attorney Chronicles & WEWYN but I need to actually play and finish the original first.
No comments about Void Terrarium being on the list Albeit I'm a little surprised it isn't really known, such a charming game with a killer limited edition physical.
Only hurting your own entertainment looking at it like this. You don't notice it when you play, an if you did I would wager you are not a Switch player only.
The performance of it prepatch is more than adequate (patch inserts multiplayer along with some other bits), then it gets better with it. Playing it hand held is glorious fun and the memories/muscle memory stands you in very good stead to just enjoy it or the comfort food it is. Stepping into an old sock never felt so good.
Have to echo this, while I haven't yet played it, this many days after it's quite shocking the review hasn't been updated despite the knowledge of the impending patch.
@Dround87 I mean, it depends on what you are after really, for me this Ninty direct was much better. However I can't deny the constant ports (despite being rather happy with Danganronpa & exceptionally so for Life is Strange), is getting stale. Albeit we cannot deny that they did announce a new Metroid & a new Warioware along with the New party (the less said about that the better) so they are not exactly not listening.
@Anti-Matter @meeto_1 If you two had played the first one, these points wouldn't put you off, it looks better than the first, with a now deeper battle system, that of which was prefectly fine with the first one anyway tbh. Its Pokemon meets Monster Hunter with a better story. Completely recommend.
@Kaori-chan I was going to say you could be a waiting a while to see that, but Rise has oddly been available for decent prices quite often, even on pre-order.
Your comment would work if it wasn't a character from a very important series in the history of gaming that still continues to this day. It isn't required to have encyclopedic knowledge to know that. While I grant you, he isn't as popular as Link, he's still right up there as an iconic video game character.
@locky-mavo I didn't take offence, but I don't understand why you would even read an article let alone comment on something you are not interested in. Seems a waste of time and only spreading negativity.
@SwitchVogel I'd argue it only adds to that discussion in that it should have been dlc.
This reeks of pure money grabbing from Ninty, of all the first party games that have had a sequel being craved, they chose this. Let's remember here we haven't actually had a Mario Kart yet that the Switch can truly call it's own.
Worst announcement of the otherwise pretty darn good direct and that's more from a business practice perspective.
@NorseGamerTommy See the above. That's possibly why, certainly is for me.
This was great announcement for me, was the first of 2 to make me woop in happiness. Life is Strange while one could argue is a more interactive visual novel really is a very special game, the story telling & relationship building throughout, the grim realities of other parts, they didn't shy away and were right not to. It is a masterpiece in story telling.
@locky-mavo You're entitled to your opinion by why bother commenting something negative to only upset people that do want it? It suggests you haven't at all played it.
@SNEED While thanks for letting me know about the new SRW game (we have been due one, has there been another SD gundam game announced too?) your degradation of the game suggests you haven't played it, or at the very least only briefly played it and haven't give it the chance to properly grab you (especially going by your experience with Remember Me and thus tarnishing this with the same brush). This game never said or advertised it was going to be more interactive or action like an perhaps that's why you didn't get on with it? You were going into it thinking it was something else rather than what it is. It is a story based game first and fore most, essentially a visual novel with more interactivity really. But that completely works for what it is.
@fafonio Calling FE basic shows how little you know of the series, especially when you state Advance Wars has complexity because of unit types, ignoring the fact that there are different uint types in FE too. On top of terrain also playing an effect. It's also a great SRPG not just a good one.

As for replaying more modern games, It's again one's you happen to love for me, too many games (an great ones at that) are either un-finished or un-played to warrant replaying a game you didn't care too much for just because it has different choices for example.
