The new (and old) Life Is Strange games are coming to Switch, finally! Life Is Strange Remastered Collection and Life Is Strange: True Colors will both be coming to the Nintendo console soon, with Remastered coming later this year and True Colors coming on the 10th September.
What's more, this episodic game won't be released episodically — the entirety of True Colors will be out on the 10th September.
Both games are about young women exploring life and emotions, but with the added complication of weird, supernatural powers that make everything even more tricky than just being a regular teen.
Are you excited to meet Alex (and Chloe, and Max) in the, uh, Lifes is Strange? Life Is Stranges? Lives Are Strange? ...games? Let us know in the comments!

Yooooohooooo! Can't wait! What a great announcment! Switch is the best platform for this game!
Well, I wasn't too surprised because this was enviable, but I'm still so happy.
I‘m so happy that this game is coming to Switch!!!!!!!!👍
Really really loved the first one. Touched me deeply. Will dip again.
@HotGoomba definitely inevitable, but why did it take this long is a good question.
guess its finally time to buy these!
MUCH BETTER THAN GUARDIANS IMO
No Life is Strange 2 with Sean and Daniel? Oh well, still love the series.
So @KateGray, like people were saying in the direct chat, are you making a guest appearance in this?
My reaction was "OMG we're getting that game with Kate Gray on it"
@octokid not ACTUALLY — it's just that the main character looks a lot like me 😅
although if they want to reach out I can definitely cameo

Nintendo of Japan revealed a new Super Robot Wars game for the Switch.
We get a boring walking simulator (game shown in article).
They get a cool mech game instead.
But what about the second entry and the Captain Spirit spin-off?
Well nevermind, I'm sure they'll come to Switch eventually. For now, this is epic news.
I LOVE Life is Strange but with so little time I can't bring myself to fully replay it. Definitely supporting True Colors on Switch. Sounds like INFJ the game and I'm into it.
@Severian Agreed, I'm playing Life Is Strange 2 now and it would have been great to see the full series make its way. I know the first is a timeless classic but both are good.
The first game is one of my favourite games ever. I'm sure I'll buy it again for the Switch and replay it for, like, ... 5th time? Haha.
LiS 2, while it had its moments, really dropped the ball IMO. Before the Storm was interesting, but lacked the supernatural theme that made the first game so great. Really hoping True Colors is good.
Oh excellent. Insta-buy
I first learned about this series from my daughter. I never thought I'd see the day that it would release on a Nintendo console. Well well well we have come a long way since then and finally I get the chance to experience this series on a console made by my favorite video game company of all time. Thank you Square Enix for putting this game on Nintendo
I just love being in Chloe's room.. I leave that up all day and night in my room so I feel we are roomies while making fan art to upload to steam page
The first game made my eyes rain, very weird, several times. So much so that this trailer even made my vision blurry with masculine eye droplets of pure testosterone.
Alright, I cried a lot.
I wanted to play the others, but I wanted to play them on Switch. You can have my salty eyewater soaked money now, you happy now, Square Enix? I'll even replay the first, and buy a collector's edition if a decent one gets released in Europe.
Finally but where is LIS 2 ? I already played life is strange 1 but I'm buying true colours
Soooo excited, Life is Strange is one of my favorite games of all time!! 😍♥️
There had to be at least one lacklustre announcement, this was definitely one of them.
Took y'all long enough!
@SNEED
I would gladly enjoy both Life is Strange and Super Robot Taisen games on Switch, actually.
I'm sure the SRW game will be available to import - no region lock, remember? And the Asia version will likely even have English subtitles. So chill a little! No need to rain on people's parade.
@Teksetter
I mean hey, don't let me stop you. If cheap discount Beyond: Two Souls with cheesy voice acting is your thing, who am I to judge? After all, I played Mars: War Logs and thought it was alright despite the cheesy voice acting and the jank of a Pirahna Bytes game.
@SNEED
I've played plenty of old SRW games over the years though honestly haven't tried a single Life is Strange game - at least I'll have the option to try them now. People seem to sincerely like the game so I'm interested.
Either way, thanks for the tip on Japan's new SupaRobo game! I'll see if I have the time to watch the full Japanese Direct tonight or tomorrow and will look forward to that part.
I would have tried the other SRW games on Switch, but it seems they offer 2 versions - a standard edition for like JPY6,000 - 7,000 and then a limited-time premium sound edition for JPY9,000 or so. If I understand correctly, the standard edition lacks BGM/music licensed from the different anime (which would suck so much fun out of the game for me). So I keep holding off on any modern SRW games till I figure that mystery out.
@Teksetter Yeah, the licensing is a real pain to work around. It's a real nightmare outside Southeast Asia, it's a surprise SD Gundam Cross Rays is even available outside that region.
But the bigger sin is Bamco not releasing Gundam Breaker 3: Break Edition on PC/Switch (something to do with the middleware tools not being compatible or something). The game they decided to release in the West (New Gundam Breaker) was a real travesty of a GB game.
As far as LiS goes, the devs' first game was Remember Me. Got for free on PS+, couldn't push myself to finish it. Had nice art direction, environments, and music. Everything else from the main character, the gameplay, and the story were just lackluster at best. Game sold poorly and they went bankrupt ("judicial reorganization" as they called), came back and made LiS. I wouldn't call it a game, more like a Telltale series style game but without any action in it. And features alot of the same problems as Remember Me and, to some extent, the Twilight series. But that's just me, you might like it more than I did (I did not).
That trailer made me kind of wish the switch versions were in that style or that Life is Strange got a cartoon. The art style looked so beautiful.
This was great announcement for me, was the first of 2 to make me woop in happiness.
Life is Strange while one could argue is a more interactive visual novel really is a very special game, the story telling & relationship building throughout, the grim realities of other parts, they didn't shy away and were right not to. It is a masterpiece in story telling.
@locky-mavo
You're entitled to your opinion by why bother commenting something negative to only upset people that do want it?
It suggests you haven't at all played it.
@SNEED
While thanks for letting me know about the new SRW game (we have been due one, has there been another SD gundam game announced too?) your degradation of the game suggests you haven't played it, or at the very least only briefly played it and haven't give it the chance to properly grab you (especially going by your experience with Remember Me and thus tarnishing this with the same brush). This game never said or advertised it was going to be more interactive or action like an perhaps that's why you didn't get on with it? You were going into it thinking it was something else rather than what it is.
It is a story based game first and fore most, essentially a visual novel with more interactivity really. But that completely works for what it is.
@Rosona
Just because it’s this game in particular? Maybe instead, simply don’t take offence to my opinion and ignore it?
And I don’t need to play every game to know this is not the kind of game I’d like to play.
@locky-mavo
I didn't take offence, but I don't understand why you would even read an article let alone comment on something you are not interested in. Seems a waste of time and only spreading negativity.
@Rosona
Seems a waste of time and only spreading negativity.
It takes some people YEARS to come to this conclusion themselves; a shame, albeit their own free will...
When the heck is the remastered version of the collection coming to switch? Other platforms are getting it on like September 30th but not switch.
So we get the new game day and date and a remaster that is NOT day and date?
Okay…
