Re: This Samus Aran Chogokin Is 21cm Of Lights And Diecast Awesomeness

So, I’m quite far into the game now, just one more key to get, and I have to say it’s outstanding. I love how they’ve tried new things whilst honouring the original trilogy. It’s easily a 9.5 out of 10 for me.

DESERT - People are complaining about the desert, but it’s fine! It’s more just about connecting the areas. You don’t spend much time in it. The areas themselves are top notch with particular emphasis on the sound design.

COMPANIONS - are ok. They know when to leave you alone enough as to not ruin it, and I appreciate that they’re there overall.

MUSIC - The way the score changes as you progress through each area is a joy to behold. Overall the soundtrack/score is amazing. A relief as music in a Metroid game is so important.

VISUALLY - it’s the most beautiful game Nintendo has ever done. The Ice Belt is stunning and Volt Forge’s level design is pure Metroid Prime. So, top marks to Retro on the art direction!

OVERALL- WELL DONE Retro/Nintendo, you have nailed it!! I’m a very happy customer! THANK YOU NINTENDO, you’ve made a veteran gamer very happy!!

Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

Rees

It’s been excellent. Great hardware and some solid 1st party games (Mario Kart, Bonanza, Prime 4). Mario will arrive when he’s good and ready and I’m happy to wait.
3rd Party support has been good too with games like Cyberpunk.
Overall I’m very happy and have no regrets in upgrading from my Switch 1.
It’s ace!

Re: Nintendo Life Reader Survey 2025

Nintendo life, IGN and direct from Nintendo via social media for me. I also love a weekly podcast like NVC. I’d love NintendoLife to do something similar.

Re: Opinion: I Never Felt True Nostalgia Until I Played GameCube On Switch 2

Rees

This was a great read, Ollie. It’s these classic memories we should cherish more! I remember buying my GameCube purely to play prince of Persia: Warrior Within. Once I had that I went straight for the Zelda’s and Mario’s and rediscovered Nintendo’s magic and got back into gaming! Never looked back since!

Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?

Rees

I won’t be picking any up at launch. I’ve no interest in the camera or chat, and I have a switch 1 pro controller which will serve me well for a while. I do fancy a pro controller 2 but happy to hold off. The console and a couple of launch games will do me for a while.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Timings For The Switch 2 Direct In April

Rees

They’ve definitely done a deal with Team Cherry to launch Silksong with the console. Can’t see another reason why it’s been delayed so long. Also, Prime 4 will be cross-gen with upgraded visuals and mouse support for the switch 2 version. Nice incentive to buy a Switch 2..

Re: Talking Point: Where The Heck Are Those Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Remasters?

Rees

I have to disagree. I don’t think Nintendo have any plans to release Prime 2/3 anytime soon. And if they did they’d more likely be ports rather than full remasters. MP1 Remaster seemed more of a test run for the development of 4 which they’ll have been flat out on since. Plus, didn’t an ex Retro employer say that converting Prime 3’s motion controls would be like beginning the game from scratch?
I might be wrong, but I just don’t see it happening before 4 comes out.
