I've only played 3 hours, yet, as the game hasn't hooked me so far, but I've been trying out most human characters, trying to get some of their costumes.
Is this really newsworthy? Sounds like one game of one publisher didn't sell that well. If it's SquareEnix, then it would even be less remarkable, as they whine about all their games selling less than they anticipated.
I'm very happy with the 3rd party games I bought in the first week (Cyberpunk, Hitman, Yakuza, Fantasy Life i), but now I'm completely broke.
It's a fantastic game with so much content, great visuals and fun gameplay. I've been getting a little burnt out after like 10 hours, but I'll surely go back to it at a slower pace.
A swollen battery is not something that is linked to this being a new console. This can happen anytime that a battery is faulty. It only gets attention because the Switch 2 just got out.
@OorWullie Even for people who played the two Zelda games already, these games are still just as good as they used to, so I wouldn't be surprised if many double dip (plus the ones that never played them before), so yeah, I also think that they will continue to sell well. They are still a must-play.
I would've preferred OLED mainly for the reason that the new HDR feature makes almost no difference on the LCD screen. Turned it off for now to save battery.
@Anakin You kinda invited those remarks. I haven't had a GameCube for 15+ years and playing this on the Switch 2 is much easier than jumping through all the hoops to get a GameCube running.
Would love to see all of them on the Switch 2. I bounced off Shenmue 3 multiple times on PC and PS4, but I would give it another try on the Switch 2 while commuting to work.
One of my favorite games I played through last year. I can see myself giving this another go on the Switch 2 (it ran great on the GPD Win 3, which is a PC handheld that is over 4 years old by now).
To me not the ones I played with friends are my favourite MK games. That would be MK64, but I don't like that one anymore. The one I loved the most was Mario Kart DS (for its singleplayer content).
As someone with quite a few digital Switch games I wonder how those will look on the Switch 2 with its higher resolution. I remember when I got my PS5 and a 4k screen some games became unplayable to me, as the image was super blurry. Hope this isn't the case on the Switch 2.
@TrannyGirl Now that is as "Hidden Gem" as it gets. I imported that game when it finally released and loved almost everything about it (except for the encounter rate). Still haven't finished it, but I will definitely play it again.
I've managed to contribute two games this time. I love that the homebrew scene is so active that you can make whole showcase with them. I almost wished that some games would even get more time to shine.
Started the demo yesterday expecting to not like it, but I was having a great time. Sure, the fighting is kinda repetitive and most of the enemies are only cannon fodder, but it was very fluid, looked great and was not too demanding. I... I guess I want to buy this now? 😅
@SwitchVogel This game is made with GB Studio, which is much easier to use as something like Unity or the Unreal engine. On the other hand there are a lot of limitations, though, as the Game Boy can't display many sprites at once, for example. And concerning your comment on the niche audience of Game Boy games: it's not too uncommon to work years on a game for current hardware and have near 0 sales. At least the Game Boy market is not saturated these days. 😉
Pickel is also the german word sometimes used for pickaxe and I assume the japanese word originated from that.
(nowadays the german Pickel usually means pimple, though ^^)
I'd personally prefer a collection of the first threw records, but as me and a friend used to sing Queen songs for hours, this still sounds like a good time.

Re: Mini Review: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Fantastic Little Upgrade
It's a fantastic game with so much content, great visuals and fun gameplay. I've been getting a little burnt out after like 10 hours, but I'll surely go back to it at a slower pace.
Re: Fantasy Life i Scores Another Switch 1 & 2 Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Johnny44 Looks great in handheld mode, too.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Donkey Kong Bananza For Switch 2?
I kinda wish they bundled this game with the Switch 2 instead, as Mario Kart World really isn't doing it for me.
Re: Review: Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster (Switch 2) - A Solid Refresh For A 3DS RPG Gem
Didn't like it on the 3DS and kind of a weird choice for a remaster (if you can call it that).
Re: Nintendo Reportedly Banning Switch 2's Using MIG Cartridges
@StyrofoamCup Wouldn't it be more fitting if it was a proc-rock band?
Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?
Didn't even bother with the protector that came with the official case, went with a glass protector (and managed to put it on without problems).

@Duncanballs You can play the game without the cart after upgrading?

Re: Switch 2 Sets "All-Time" Launch Record For Video Game Hardware In The US
@somnambulance I was very foolish this week. Bought Hitman, Cyberpunk 2077, Yakuza 0, Fantasy Life I... 😅
Re: Street Fighter 6's Switch 2 Version Declared Tournament Legal By Capcom
I've decided against buying Street Fighter 6 for now after playing the demo, but it's on my wishlist.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Switch 2's Screen? Because Some People Certainly Aren't
I would've preferred OLED mainly for the reason that the new HDR feature makes almost no difference on the LCD screen. Turned it off for now to save battery.
Re: Review: Nintendo Switch 2 Carry Case - The Official Option Is A Solid One
The review could mention that the included screen protector is only plastic, not glass.
Re: Review: Survival Kids (Switch 2) - Konami's NS2 Debut Is Cosy, Competent, Kid-Friendly Co-op
I loved the first one on the GBC and also liked Lost in Blue on the DS, but this new direction for the series is simply not for me.
Re: Review: Yakuza 0: Director's Cut (Switch 2) - A Series Highlight That's Never Looked Or Played Better
I was kinda looking forward to playing it with the English dub. 😅
Re: Review: Hitman World Of Assassination - Signature Edition (Switch 2) - Not Yet The Showstopping Port 47 Deserves
I really appreciate how quickly the reviews are coming in today. Thanks!
Re: Fast Fusion Launch Trailer Gives Us Our Best Look At Switch 2 Gameplay
This looks amazing!
Re: Opinion: Upgraded For Switch 2, ARMS Deserves A Second Shot At Greatness
ARMS was one of the defining early Switch games for me (next to BotW and Mario + Rabbids). Can't wait to get back into it. 😄
Re: Review: SoulCalibur II (GameCube) - One Of The Best Fighters Ever, Playable Oh-So-Soon On Switch 2
@Anakin Not If you don't have a GameCube. 😉

Re: Video: Here's How Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Runs On Switch
I'll definitely wait for the Switch 2 release. I hope it won't take long.
Re: Shenmue III On Switch 2? Publisher's Latest Tease Suggests It Might Be Happening

Re: Exclusive: Fast Fusion Will Contain 12 Tracks, Free Content Update Confirmed
Fast RMX was so good, I loved playing it when I got my launch day Switch. Fast Fusion is a must-buy!
Re: Rumour: Red Dead Redemption 2 May Be Heading To Switch 2 Pretty Soon
One of my favorite games I played through last year. I can see myself giving this another go on the Switch 2 (it ran great on the GPD Win 3, which is a PC handheld that is over 4 years old by now).
Re: 12 Switch Games Are Getting Free Switch 2 Upgrades, Here's What You Can Expect
@N00BiSH I'll be there for ARMS.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th May (North America)
Looking forward to playing Fantasy Life i on my Switch 2.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Ghosting Switch 1 To Save Yourself For Switch 2?
I went one step further and sold my Switch OLED (along with my Playstation Portal) to be able to afford the Switch 2. And I bought three used Switch games that will get Switch 2 upgrades to experience them a second time with better visuals (Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild and Pokémon Scarlet).
June can come!
Re: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Switch Estimated File Size Revealed
A must-buy for me, the first one was amazing!
Re: 'Spine' Brings Gun-Fu To Switch 2
The violence paired with the at times awkward movement makes this look very weird to me. Like it doesn't take itself very seriously.
Re: Opinion: It's Been 20 Years Since I Was This Excited For A Mario Kart

Re: How Well Do You Know The Nintendo DS?
Got 16 right, but had to take a break, so I scored pretty low.
Re: Homebrew Games Summer Showcase 2024 - Celebrating 120 Titles Across 15 Platforms

I love that the homebrew scene is so active that you can make whole showcase with them. I almost wished that some games would even get more time to shine.
Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?
BotW was amazing, a true masterpiece. I couldn't really get into TotK, though.
Re: Square Enix Announces SaGa Frontier Remastered, Launches On Switch In Summer 2021
I loved SaGa Frontier 2 back in the day. I still have the official guide, the artwork in it is stunning!
Hope they remaster that as well.
Re: This Powerful Portable Console Has Us Dreaming Of A Nintendo Switch Pro
I had a Win 2 and loved it. The only negative was that it had a super loud fan. It sounded like a vacuum cleaner at times. 😅
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Reportedly Leaked Just Days Out From Its Release
@ArmenianJedi13 For me it was the opposite, the demo made me want this game. And I never played a musou game before.
Re: The First Review For Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Now In
Started the demo yesterday expecting to not like it, but I was having a great time. Sure, the fighting is kinda repetitive and most of the enemies are only cannon fodder, but it was very fluid, looked great and was not too demanding.
I... I guess I want to buy this now? 😅

Re: 2020 Isn't All Bad, Because The Game Boy Is Getting A Brand-New RPG Called Dragonborne
Funny, I'm also planning to make an rpg for the game boy (color), hopefully in a few years the market won't already be saturated. 😂
Re: Part Time UFO, The Latest Switch Game From HAL Laboratory, Is Available Right Now
Played it on Android and loved it.
Re: Deals: Level-5's Gorgeous Ghibli RPG Ni no Kuni Has 84 Percent Hacked Off Its eShop Price [Europe]
Even though I liked the sequel a lot more, this is an amazing price. Now I'm a little sad that I already know that this game is not for me...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 10th)
Ikenfell mainly and maybe some Hades. And on PC Genshin Impact.
Re: The Man Behind Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Is Working On A Follow-Up, But There's A Catch
One of the only Silent Hill games I could actually play without pissing myself. Really liked the gameplay and loved the story.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - September 2020
Just got to the last boss of Hades for the second time. This time I'm gonna beat him!
