Mh, I also couldn't get into it, tbh. I really liked the first few hours, but then the story just meandered and I asked myself, what the point is. Sold it yesterday. ^^
After playing DQ11, which felt a bit disappointing technically, I was amazed by the Witcher 3 port. It really does feel like the full version. While playing I haven't been missing a single thing in the visual department.
Now I'm really happy I didn't buy it already. This will be my first Limited Run game, really looking forward to it. Does anybody know the price and when it will release?
@Bizzyb Mainly RPGs, but here's the full list: Ni No Kuni, Tales of Vesperia, Battle Chasers, Darksiders, Link's Awakening (played through it in a few days and traded it online for Dragon Quest 11), Pokemon Let's Go Evoli, Ghostbusters, Final Fantasy XII (which I accidentally bought twice...). Most were pretty cheap, but still I should take a break. ^^
I'd love to get it right now, but I just returned to the Switch with the Switch Lite (after selling my Day 1 console after a year) and bought 8 games in a shoppimg frenzy, so I have to hold myself back on this one. For now, at least.
I think the barrier to actually be able to use this functionality will be pretty high. When I last talked to the Game Maker developers, they said it will cost several $1000. This will likely keep most smaller projects away from the Switch, but we'll have to see how much it is in the end.
Impulse-bought it today and regretted it after five minutes. The gameplay is alright, but the implementation is very cheap. In cutscenes characters move very choppy and as it seems there's nothing else apart from Watching Cutscene -> Battle -> Repeat.
Had to be Breath of the Wild for me. Ever since I played it at a preview event, I was mesmerized by the sheer vastness of the world, the colors, the music, the physics, just everything felt like it belonged in that game.
Wanted to buy it as my Mario Odyssey copy didn't arrive, but a) I can't find it on the German eShop and b) 30€ is just too much. I would have paid 15€ because I'm craving for a fun platformer. The funny thing is I'm not sure I need this game anymore after Mario Odyssey has arrived.
Finished it in 6 hours and I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed that it was over so quickly. The game could have had more segments where exploring and finding secrets was encouraged a little more. As it is right now I followed the story most of the time, which was fun, but now I feel I beat the game before getting my money's worth. :/
I'm almost sad to admit that I had a lot more fun with this than with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Maybe it's because my Switch was brand-new back then, but the fast gameplay and cool design really hooked me.
That argument is a little funny to me, as I'm a game developer myself and I can say that my recent game SwapQuest sold more on the Vita than on the PS4, Xbox One and Steam combined. Sadly that doesn't mean that the Vita is the greatest piece of hardware nor that the game sold like crazy. So if his statement is anything to applaud remains a mystery.
I played the first one on my Vita and enjoyed it for some time, but it couldn't hold my attention very long. The adventure part was mostly good, but building felt a little inferior to something like Minecraft.
I really liked it when it released, but due to the difficulty I couldn't get very far. I've been waiting for this update and can't wait to get back in.
I wonder if the game crashes at some point, as I believe the blood moon is also a way to save memory. If it's not there, the game has to keep every defeated enemy, opened chest, etc. in a save file, which might become quite big depending on how they save the data.
I made my first games in RPG Maker 2003 and XP (so many years ago!) and now look where I am: living the indie dream by putting games on many platforms (including consoles very soon) and not having a dime in my pocket! Thank you, RPG Maker...
I've just changed my main from Ninjara to Min Min, as her abilities allow some cool strategies (I'm currently going with an ice glove on the left and keep it charged all the time). I'm really trying to unlearn to jump all the time when someone strikes. Dodging is the better option most of the time (jumping is now reserved for emergencies). Also, what most people don't realize is that you should use your arms constantly even if you are out of reach and planning a strategy, as every punch fills up your rush meter. Getting one more rush than your opponent can turn the tide in a battle.
It would make me sooo happy if we would get the collection here. I own a flashed cartridge of Seiken Densetsu 3 (in English with added 3-player support, the original only allows two players), which is my biggest treasure, but if I'd be able to play it on the go on Switch, that would be truly fantastic.
The only thing I really can't understand it why we get Street Fighter 2 Turbo and not Super Street Fighter 2, which I really loved and is the definitive edition of that game.
I have to say that I didn't enjoy the game as much as the reviewer. Somehow the design felt off to me. The visual design is awesome, but the rest felt much less ambitious. One example for that is that you have all those magic spells which you can upgrade, but what for? I bought my first spell when I had almost finished the game. For the longest time I didn't even know what the magic bar was for. When I finally got spells, I never used them as combat is very simple and most of the time I could even run into enemies and whip them to death, taking some damage, as the healing dance made the game way too easy.
I really wanted to like this game, but in the end it was pretty disappointing.
P.S. On a side note: this is the first game that made me set my Switch from German to English, as the German translation was aweful.
Talked a bit to the developer at the Casual Connect in Berlin this year. A really fascinating title, very surreal, with a kickass visual design. Great addition to the Switch!

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Outlines Version 1.4, Due Out On Consoles "Soon"
Played it when it came out on Switch. Seems like soon will be the perfect time to start a second playthrough.

Re: Over 150 Switch Games Discounted In Nintendo Cyber Deals Sale (Europe)
A bit disappointing, I must say. :/
Re: Review: Sparklite - An Enjoyable Rogue-Lite That Pays Homage To Zelda In The Best Way
Hm, read like a 9/10, I'll definitely keep an eye on this.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 9th)
@Anti-Matter I finished Giruvegan and the Crystal not too long ago, it was quite the challenge, so I'm now taking a little break. ^^
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 9th)
I'll be "switching" between Dragon Quest XI and Ori and the Blind Forest, which should be different enough to keep me engaged throughout the weekend.

@Zuljaras Looks promising.

Re: GameMaker Studio 2 Comes To Nintendo Switch
That's very cool news. I'm a bit tempted to port SwapQuest to the Switch now. But I assume it's still pretty hard to get a devkit.

Re: Nintendo Reveals The Top 30 Best Selling Digital Games On Switch In 2017
I'm kinda surprised Stardew Valley is not even in the Japan list.
Re: Review: Crawl (Switch eShop)
I still wonder if it's worth the purchase if you plan to play it only solo.
Re: Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap Gets Updated With Video Capture Support
Still have to beat the last dungeon. Loved the game when I played it.
Re: Feature: Vote For Your 2017 Nintendo Life Game of the Year
Had to be Breath of the Wild for me. Ever since I played it at a preview event, I was mesmerized by the sheer vastness of the world, the colors, the music, the physics, just everything felt like it belonged in that game.
Re: Square Enix Has Finished the Score for Project Octopath Traveler
I gotta say: the music in the demo was the best thing about it. Don't mean to say the rest was bad, but the music really stood out.
Re: Enter The Gungeon Arrives on the Switch eShop Very Soon
This could become what Nuclear Throne was on my Vita: a great little title to fill a few minutes of intense action.
Re: Stardew Valley Update Could Make It the First Third-Party Game With Video Capture
Put 50 hours in (more than Mario Odyssey!), but don't feel the need to play more. It was very fun while it lasted, though.
Re: Nintendo Gives a Teasing Glimpse of a New ARMS Fighter
It looks like he can throw a mask (a bit like Cappy from Mario Odyssey).
Re: Poll: Which is the Best Super Mario Game?
The best Mario-themed games are Wario Land (Super Mario Land 3), Yoshi's Island (Super Mario World 2) and Super Mario Galaxy.

Re: Switch's Latest Exclusive Is Based On A German Quiz Show
Well, I live in Germany and haven't heard from this show in years. It might still be a "big hit", but I'm just not watching regular TV anymore.
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th August (Europe)
What about Mario + Rabbids? Isn't that supposed to come out on the 29th?
Re: SEVERED Slashes Its Way onto the Switch eShop, Out Today
I have it on my Vita, but it wasn't for me. I liked the world and atmosphere, but the gameplay was a little too much time-management in combat.
Re: Dragon Quest Builders 2 Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

Re: RiME Is Getting A Special Collector's Edition On Switch
I would've bought the retail version anyway, so it's cool to get some nice extras (even though I'm not the collector type myself).

@NintendoPete I was looking for that on Amazon.de all day, but couldn't find it. Thanks a lot!

The only thing I really can't understand it why we get Street Fighter 2 Turbo and not Super Street Fighter 2, which I really loved and is the definitive edition of that game.
Re: Review: Mighty Gunvolt Burst (Switch eShop)
Really liked the game so far. It's true, the combinations are endless and this might feel a bit overwhelming, but the overall package is excellent.
Re: Snake Pass Update For Switch Adds Time Trial Mode And Lots More
I'll have to pass if they didn't fix the inverted camera, as it is only inverted on one axis.
Re: 2064: Read Only Memories Bringing Mature Adventure Fun To Switch eShop Next Year
Another game I wanted to play on my Vita that I can enjoy on my Switch instead.
Re: Review: ARMS (Switch)

Re: Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition Confirmed For Physical Release On Switch
Haha, I've been waiting for this. The price is a little steep, but I loved the game on the Vita.
Re: Oceanhorn Anchors In The Sheltered Harbour Of The Switch eShop This Month
I played it on iOS some years ago and wasn't impressed. It had a lot of rough edges and from the looks of it, it's mostly the same on the Switch.
Re: Bulb Boy is Bringing Surreal Horror to the Switch eShop This Summer
@JunkRabbit Haha, not too soon (if ever). I'm still talking to Nintendo about it. But if it happens, you'll read about it on Nintendo Life.

Talked a bit to the developer at the Casual Connect in Berlin this year. A really fascinating title, very surreal, with a kickass visual design. Great addition to the Switch!
Re: Video: Meet Ninjara, The Master Of Stealth In ARMS
I didn't even know you could disappear while blocking. I rarely used the blocking anyway, definitely have to train that when the game comes out.
