Re: UK Charts Reveal That Only 2% Of NBA 2K19's Launch Sales Were On Switch

Razzy

B-but Nintendo diehards keep saying that everything sells on Switch... My life's been a lie! D:

Though, in all seriousness, that's kinda sad. Especially that the purported messiah of gaming, the revolutionary original cardboard kaiser, didn't even appear on the charts despite having a new set released.

Re: Capcom Has Announced An Onimusha: Warlords Remaster For Nintendo Switch

Razzy

I hope they'll do Onimusha 3 as well, I only played that one, on pc. Jean Reno. <3

I've read on the another site that it'll be $19.99. I'm fine with that.

The voice acting is almost RE1 quality.

Why does Capcom hate Europe so? They almost always go digital only here.

@Razer When did Nintendo save Capcom?

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (Switch)

Razzy

Bought mh4u for the 3ds back when it read released, could never get into it. I think Freedom Wars spoiled all other mh-type games for me with it's emphasis on 3d movements, frantic pace, multiple weapons and setting. Mh games just feel meh in comparison.

Re: Nihon Falcom Dealt With "Online Flaming" For Years Because It Didn't Release Games On Nintendo DS

Razzy

All that salt... People seem to ignore that very few of the games released by Falcom on the PSP would even be possible on the DS. Only Ys I&II were 2D, all the 3D ones would require rewriting from the grounds up, and even the 2D ones would look like a pixellised mess.

In comparison, getting them to work on the PSP was much easier.

And you can play every single ys game sans V on the Vita, the only downside is that VIII was first released there, so it's missing some of the extra content of later versions.

Wouldn't mind some sort of Ys collection for Switch, though.

Re: Guide: New Nintendo Switch Games Releasing In 2018

Razzy

I'll be picking up Okami for sure, Valkyria, any RPGs I can get my hands on, including previously released ones.

Got burned on indies, though, decided to play some of the indies I bought in sale, tried three and all three had game-breaking bugs that required resetting the game to continue.

Fe - I love the game, but once the camera suddenly stayed behind and controls stopped working. Other time I got on top of the invisible level ceiling (not doing anything weird, just using the final upgrade) and couldn't get back down.

Earthlock - first swamp boss, the event that was supposed to happen didn't trigger, so I was left watching it and my characters facing each other for all eternity.

Plague Road - a plague beast spawned three Meatlings... And they proceeded to attack me time after time as their turns never ran out. I turned the game off once each passed thirty turns in a row with no signs of ever actually letting me move again.

So yeah, we're getting tons of indies, but there's no quality control at all.

Re: Daemon X Machina Avoids Photorealistic Visuals In Favour Of Colourful Anime Art

Razzy

Yes, totally unique... If you disregard all the other games with stylised art styles, like Furi, Fe, Superhot, etc. Still, it looks pretty nice, just don't try selling it as and sort of revolution. The Switch simply can't do photorealism.

I'm much more interested in the gameplay. If that's poor, no amount of 'unique art style' will save it.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Will Have Extra Requirements To Take On Gyms

Razzy

Teeny leetle babby mode![/heavy_voice]

The arguments that this is a game for kids so rounding down to the lowest common denominator is completely fine make me laugh. So what, R/G/B/Y weren't for kids? Because I quite distinctly remember playing them as a kid, having to beat Brock with the Thunder rat, then capitulating at the Elite Four since even at level 80+ my Lightning mouse wasn't strong enough, starting over and getting a Mysticatrout instead. And it was fun. Are kids nowadays that much dumber that they need all this?

Re: Nintendo Of America's Doug Bowser Says Switch Has "Broad Appeal" And A Diverse Library Of Games

Razzy

I love my Switch, but it doesn't have that broad a library of games. It's artificially inflated by indies of varying quality and effort put into them.

We still need a GTA or GTA-like game. L. A. Noire doesn't count, since the city is pretty much dead other than missions. It's more like a puzzle game with driving and shooting.

We need more FPS games, yes, Doom and Wolf 2 are cool, but they are from the same company, we need variety.

I'd like to see more jrpgs from smaller companies. Say what you want about the Vita, it had a massive amount of
Jrpgs to choose from.

We need some third person action adventure games. Assassin's Creed, Mordor games, anything, really, we don't really have those on the system other than Zelda.

Strategy games wouldn't be bad.

Ports of Xcom games.

More survival horror.

More full fledged Western RPGs. Fallout!

More sports games, especially racing games. I was really hoping from Burnout Paradise on Switch.

Ports of Trine games would be great.

And I don't mind ports. We could really use ports of gc and wii games.

Re: Nintendo Wants To Release 20-30 Indie Games Every Week On Switch

Razzy

Shovelware ahoy!

Do the Atari!

With the eshop's current lack of curating, an expansive tag system and limited search and sorting options, that'll be hell. I mean, how difficult is it to make price sorting sort by current price, not the base price? If I want to sort the list of sales by price, I'd obviously want that to be the current price.

Re: Hackers Have Now Found A Way To Emulate Nintendo 64 Games On Switch

Razzy

@Galenmereth (citation needed) for 'most countries'. I see it's a permitted limitation, but nothing about how many countries actually use it.

http://www.worldcadaccess.com/blog/2012/05/eu-court-legalizes-reverse-engineering-of-software.html

See above, it's legal by default, maybe you should read more about the law and actually find some examples of countries that deem out illegal, since the documents you referenced only allow for this limitation.

What this knowledge is used for is irrelevant. Innocent until proven guilty, so until proven otherwise, people are using it tu play copies of hands they own. I know I use my vita for that, playing quake 2 and half life using my legally bought copies as file sources.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

Razzy

August or September console here (too lazy to check, got it secondhand in November), luckily no cracks at all and I hope it stays that way. Playing pretty much exclusively in handheld or tabletop mode, total 5 minutes of docked mode.

Sounds like a design flaw, but, hopefully, newer models like mine have been fixed.

Gotta look into the left analog, it sometimes registers movement where there's none.

Re: Review: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

Razzy

Welp, got the game (ce) and I'm literally dead to the world for a few weeks. I'll be lucky if I remember to eat.

Very deserved 9 on fun factor alone, though if you're expecting AAA polish, nope, these games are never much for high budgets.
