Supergiant Games is bringing its critically-acclaimed Bastion and Transistor to Nintendo Switch.
Released in 2011 and 2014 respectively, the two games were highly-rated upon release and have gone down as true indie classics.
Bastion is an action RPG which an isometric viewpoint and a gorgeous hand-painted art-style, while Transistor adopts the same perspective but gives everything a harder visual edge. Both are welcome additions to the eShop library, despite their obvious age.
Bastion launches on September 13th, while Transistor is expected in November.

Great news!
I had it on xbox 360, but its not my game
Bastion was the only game I ever bothered to 100% on Steam and Transistor is fun but I haven’t played it that much yet. I’m glad supergiant games is bringing some of their stuff over to switch.
Yay I was hoping for these!
Buying!
Both are great great games. Highly recommend both! Probably won't double dip but if you have played these you're in for a treat!!
I beat Bastion on Steam many years ago when it first came out. I've been wanting this one on Switch in particular, so I'm looking forward to it.
Transistor rules so hard. I gotta actually play Bastion. I never got too far when it was free on PS+. Oops.
Featuring some of the best soundtracks in the gaming universe, - especially the Transistor one. A must-buy for me!
Transistor is such a great game. The gameplay is great, with kinda-but-not-really-turn-based combat and the ingenious update mechanics and I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time.
I just looked these up two days ago to see if they were coming! Very excited to finally play them.
Been waiting on these to come to Switch.
Pretty much every good independent game of the last 15 years will be on Switch. Its incredible.
I’m happy about Bastion, for sure. Oddly enough, the music popped into my head Sunday though I haven’t played in about 6 years.
I really didn’t like Bastion, the presentation (especially the narrator) and gameplay just didn’t click with me.
@DreamerDC I don't recall nor find Bastion ANYWHERE on the IGC summary list, let alone this year. Unless you aren't from Europe and your region had it in differing lineup.
Earlier this year is when I got it on Vita myself, curious to see the game whose mechanics reportedly seemed to inspire much of Stories (itself still one of the best PS4 games I've played so far) but I haven't played much yet, so I consider double-dipping. And Switch is certainly where I'll be getting Transistor.
EDIT: right, found what you're referring to. Bastion showed up on PS4 in 2015; apparently a US lineup or something indeed, because it also had Vita's Element4l - Europe IGC only got it last year.
Started Bastion on PC... but never finished it, actually. So I'm willing to get it on Switch, IF the price is right, even if I have the feeling it won't.
I'm all for re-releases on Switch. But not for re-releases sold at the full price they originaly released at back then. Yes, lots of work is involved in a port. But most assets, art direction, etc... is already done. Price should reflect that.
I played Bastion on my ancient iPad years ago and finished it. It was a great game on the iPad at the time. I'd love it if these two games were bundled together on the switch, though. It'd make for a pretty appealing package.
And in terms of the amount of work needed to make Bastion run on the Switch, I can't imagine it's very much work: the game can run in a Chrome browser window....
I finished Bastion on PC ages ago and later on the Vita, so dunno if I'll get it (especially that it was, like, 75% off on launch for the Vita). Transistor I might.

I absolutely LOVE Bastion!
YES! Bastion is by far one of my top games of all time. Can't wait for these titles.
@hatch Don't know if it's a console exclusive or not but it is on pc as well. So there's hope.
I never played Bastion and never finished Transistor (loved it though, just too many games vying for my attention); perhaps having them both on a single handheld will spur me on. Good news.
Hey guys, can you help me getting these games a physical release with a retweet?

Looks like I finally need to check these out. I always meant to buy Bastion on PS3, but never got around to it.
thats GREAT news I had my eyes on these titles for years yet I dont download but with lrg providing a physical ps4 version I can see them doing the same for switch!
I will rebuy both. Some of my earliest requests were getting these to Switch. And get Pyre over here too!
I own Bastion on Xbox One and can't justify a double dip at the moment. As for Transistor, it comes out on my birthday and I don't own it, I have an excellent excuse to buy it on launch day.
I own both for iOS but I think I’ll double dip just because I got both on sale and love the developer. Bastion was such a beautiful and clever game!
I loved the narrator and music in Bastion and obviously it was gorgeous as well, but I never got far into the game despite all that. The gameplay wasn't really for me. I already have it on PC/PS4/Vita, so I don't think I'll pick it up again. I also have Transistor on PC/PS4, but I might actually buy that all-over again, once it goes on sale. Transistor was just sooo good. I basically loved everything about that game. I even have the official Red figurine
@countzero played Bastion on X360 and Transistor on my iPhone just when it came out. Both great games.
But the Transistor soundtrack tho.
Hauntingly beautiful.
That soundtrack alone is enough to make me get back to it from time to time.
Yay! These games have some of my favorite soundtracks of all time.
Also this means Pyre must be coming? Right? Please make it so.
Well if they're charging $20 a pop, as is the wont of many a developer on Switch, then imma pass right by. They price these two reasonably (considering their age and vast saturation), and we'll see.
@aznable yeah.... Bastion is cool, but not full price cool consider in I have it on Vita and how old it is...
Hearing about games, released after I graduated high school as "classics" makes me feel so old... I feel like I need to wave a cane at kids and yell at them to get off my non-existent lawn.
How old do I need to be to complain about and endlessly insult the younger generation like the baby booms and gen Xers continue to do with regards to Millennials? I am only 26 darn it! I am not old yet!
@aznable Bastion is $14.99 USD.
Played Bastion on VITA (another great reason to have one) Got Transistor for Free on PS+
Im good.
Bastion is hands down one of the best games I’ve ever played. The soundtrack is a thing of its own too. A real gem.
Haven’t dug into Transistor. Always wanted too now I can.
Awesome indeed.
@Heavyarms55 You know what they say- You're only as old as the atoms that make up your body.
Old.
@IronMan30
I'm going to wait for a sale. I only has so much monies
Man, as if I wasn't grabbing enough games this year haha
Getting Transistor day one, it's a great game.
Oh great, now I have Bastion's music and smokey-voiced narrator stuck in my head again.
I bounced off of Transistor though. I felt like I was being rushed towards the story instead of experiencing it. Like the devs were all too excited to tell it before letting player properly immerse. Bastion took it slower.
They look fun.
