Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

RantingThespian

I'm honestly on the fence about this one. The game does look gorgeous, and I bet the story will be great. However it does look a bit too similar to Sticker Star (which is my least favorite Paper Mario game). It will really depend on the reviews of the game. If they are stellar, I will most likely pick it up. If they are anywhere less than that, I will probably wait until it's on sale.

Re: Talking Point: Where Does The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Fit Into the Zelda Timeline?

RantingThespian

I am thinking it takes place before Zelda 1 or after Zelda 2. The more vast and destroyed Hyrule is more in line with that timeline. This taking place after Wind Waker doesn't make too much sense after the events of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Also, Hyrule was pretty stable after Twilight Princess, so this would have to be extremely far ahead in that time-line.

Just the look of Hyrule and everything screams Zelda 1 timeline to me.

Re: Soapbox: Can Mario Party Return To Its Former Glory?

RantingThespian

The last Mario Party game that I had fun playing was Mario Party DS. Every entry after that has been sub par, and not really any fun. They really should just create a "reloaded" version that uses mini games and boards from the first 3, with some twists and bonus content added.

They also need to ditch the car asap.

@gcunit And . . . . . . . now I've died. You've killed me. I hope you're happy. Also, have you played Mario Is Missing? This gremlin here sure thinks it's a classic! Also, why do gremlins follow you to heaven? That's weird . . . . wait a minute, a copy of Mario Is Still Missing 5? Sonic Boom 12? Zelda Wii U delayed indefinitely? This isn't heaven!!!!! Aaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!

Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero

RantingThespian

I just got the game on the 22nd of May for my B-Day. I haven't played much of it. So far I kind of like it, but there are 2 drawbacks:

1 - Motion Controls
2 - No Multiplayer

Now, I have only played some of it, so maybe in a couple days the motion controls will no longer bother me. However, games that only have a single player option (I have no interest in co-op) and no DLC, additional modes, or future add-ons tend to not stay on my shelf for too long. Once I exhaust the game for what it can give me (that's approximately 2-5 months, if it has no multiplayer or other options) it goes up for sale when I need money or want a new game.

Re: E3 Live is a Free Event For Gamers That'll Run Alongside the Main Expo

RantingThespian

I have to say that my interest in E3 this year has reached an all time low. Any PC games I care about are already out, or I've already have enough info on them. As for Nintendo ... other than a little more info on Zelda, I really don't care.

Barring something unexpected (like an annoucement of Quake 5 or anything unexpected from Nintendo) I really don't care about E3 2016.

Re: A Tetris Movie is in the Making

RantingThespian

I discovered leaked titles for the trilogy in the bathroom stall of a Taco Bell. They are:

TETRIS 1: The Quest For The Line Segment
TETRIS 2: The Second Player Rises
TETRIS V Dr. Mario: Dawn Of The Clones

This is going to be Epic!

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Reiterates That Nintendo NX Is A New Way Of Playing Games

RantingThespian

I just want to know what it is. I'm sick of rumors, delays, lack of Wii U support, and that Nintendo isn't saying anything about NX during E3. Plus then there is the delay of Zelda AGAIN, and this time it feels like they screwed Wii U owners and have delayed it just to launch it with the NX (it feels like Rayman Legends all over again).

I'm getting really sick and tired of everything to do with Nintendo at the moment. I'm not anti-Nintendo, nor am I abadoning ship. I'm just angry and frustrated with them.

Re: Nintendo is Getting Into the Movie Business

RantingThespian

I'd love to see these 3 become films:

Mario Bros: a 3D animated film with Mario and Luigi on their quest to rescue Peach and Daisy from Bowser and DK (with DK turning on Bowser in the end). Wario and Waluigi could have a side story with their quest to get their own film (a little 4th wall breaking there).

The Legend of Zelda: A live action film in the vein of Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit. I'd have it's story take the best elements from the original game, A Link To The Past, and Ocarina of Time (not the time traveling element, though, too confusing). Make it a mostly serious film, with some playful humor, and a lot of focus on traveling and sword fighting. It could even be a 2 or 3 parter.

Metroid: Think Alien. Take the Metroid Prime stories, merge them, and direct it in the style of Ridley Scott's Alien or Prometheus films. Hell, get Ridley Scott himself to direct it (if possible). Make it either R or a very edgy PG-13 film. Also, get a tough and strong woman like Charlize Theron to play Samus, and ditch the Zero Suit! Make it serious, and make Samus an emotionaly strong and very confident character.

Do those 3 right, and the video game movie curse will be lifted.

Re: EB Games Display Lists Mighty No. 9 for a Summer 2016 Release

RantingThespian

I don't think it'll ever come out. In fact, I don't think the game exists at all. I think we've all been hallucinating. The money he raised was not for a game, but a mind altering experimental drug that was released into the air. All that we see are figments of our imagination. Inafune, hasn't been working at all, he's just been eating pie and watching Power Puff Girls.

Re: Review: Miitomo (Mobile)

RantingThespian

I have to say, I have tried it and it's alright. However, the problem is that I have no friends who would ever use this. They only use their smart devices for phone calls, Facetime/Skype, (annoying) Trivia Apps, browsing the internet, and Facebook. Also, none of them play any video games at all, so the Nintendo aspect will not draw them in. So, sadly I will pass on this, due to only the severe lack of what I can get out of it.

I hope Nintendo's next App will be more single-user friendly.

Re: Nintendo Should Follow In Marvel's Footsteps And Produce Its Own Hollywood Movies, Say Producers

RantingThespian

This is what I think Nintendo should focus on:

  • a full CGI "Pixar-Like" Mario Bros. film (with DK, Bowser, and Wario all serving as protagonists)
  • a live action Metroid film (hopefully directed by Ridley Scott himself, and staring Charlize Theron)
  • a live action Legend of Zelda mini-series (it doesn't have to follow Link, but it could follow someone who is trying to follow in his footsteps, and Link is only shown in fight scenes, so we never do hear him speak)
