RantingThespian

I am so EXTREMELY upset!

I would post what I really feel right now, but the whole thing would be censored due to bad language. This REALLY PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM EXTREMELY ANGRY AT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU CAN'T RELEASE A GAME FOR WII U DON'T ADVERTISE AND SAY IT'S COMING TO WII U!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE HAD IT WITH COMPANIES PULLING THEIR WII U VERSION OF GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WAS THE ONE GAME i WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO AND NOW I . . . . I CAN'T EXPRESS MYSELF ANY FURTHER WITHOUT THIS POST GETTING COMPLETELY CENSORED!!!!!!

I AM REALLY REALLY REALLY MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Random: Kanye West's Potential Album Tracklist is All About the Wii

Whenever I see that face, I want to punch it. If I wasn't a pacifist, I'd probably have several hundred broken TVs, Phones, and Computer Screens.

Also, good luck using those song names. There is a little something called COPYRIGHT! You can't just take copyrighted titles and then release them without consent from the holders of those copyrighted games. I also doubt Nintendo wants anything to do with Kanye.

Re: Super Mario Run Will Require a Constant Online Connection

RantingThespian

This was one of the things I HATED about the new Sim City (and one of the reasons why I have abandoned it for Cities Skylines).

I was warming up to this game after seeing the many modes and such, and now I am NEVER going to download this.

I HATE ALWAYS ONLINE FOR GAMES THAT DO NOT NEED TO BE ONLINE! I WILL NEVER GET THIS GAME!

If this is going to be part of the Nintendo Switch, it is going to flop HARD!

Re: Dylan Cuthbert Voices His Thoughts on Star Fox Zero

RantingThespian

I really tried to love it. I really tried to get used to the controls, but I kept struggling and getting frustrated because my brain wanted to do one thing, and the game wanted me to do something else. I tried hard to get used to it, but it just didn't work. Also, it did really bother me how the story was the exact same as Star Fox and Star Fox 64. I couldn't ignore the fact that I had played through this story almost 3 times already. Yes, Mario has the same setup over and over again, but outside of the RPG games, there is pretty much no story. Star Fox is much more story driven and has tons of dialog that makes it very noticeable that it's the same story. Plus half the levels just didn't seem that exciting or inventive. Some were great, but there were so many odd or dull levels.

I tried my hardest, and played through the whole game (unlocking everything, and playing every path) but I doubt I'll ever return to the game. It was just a very frustrating experience.

Re: Video: This Studio Ghibli-Inspired Zelda Trailer Is Just Too Perfect

RantingThespian

I'd love a more fluid animated Zelda film, in the vein of Disney or Don Bluth (An American Tale, All Dogs Go To Heaven, Land Before Time, Secret of Nimh, Dragon's Lair).

I'm not a fan of Anime at all, and that goes for Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away (and yes I have seen both films, and did not like the animation in either of them). I just can't tolerate the faces, the way the mouths move, and the blocky and choppy movement.

Either give me a Live Action, 3D Animated, or a "Fluid 2D" Animated Zelda film.

Re: Review: Armikrog (Wii U eShop)

RantingThespian

I have to say that 6 is Way too low of a score. There also is a lot of story. Just like in the NeverhoOd with the "Hall Of Records" there is a huge room that tells the whole history of the fortress Armikrog. and the planet. Plus, this game takes as long as The NeverhoOd. We just now have the internet and other things that shorten the experience for us for help and cheats. Some of the best parts of these games is just being in the world itself. Each room is literally a work of handcrafted art. Also, there is the amazing music in the game as well.

This game is easily an 8/10 or higher.

Re: Video: Playing Yooka-Laylee Properly With a Nintendo 64 Controller, Sort Of

RantingThespian

@Lzeon I guess you've never seen these monstrosities :

-Phillips CD-i Controller: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/23/Philips-CD-i-Paddle-Controller.jpg
-Atari Jaguar Controller: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Atari-Jaguar-Pro-Controller-Flat.jpg
-Intellivision Disk Controller: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/21/Intellivision-Controller.jpg
-Atari 5200 Controller: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c1/Atari-5200-Controller.jpg

And those are the controllers that came with the system. Then there are 3rd party controllers, early motion sensor controllers, and other weird abominations that defy all common sense and logic . . . I mean what is this "thing": http://www.ohgizmo.com/images/alphagrip.jpg

I understand that the N64 controller is odd, but it functions well, you can hit all the buttons easily. Also when it came out, it was so revolutionary. Many of it's design features influenced many controllers to this day. Sure the 3 prong thing was odd, but it didn't actually get in the way, and the Game Cube was better with the C-Stick instead of the C-Buttons, but it's not terrible. It's comfortable to hold, it's very responsive, and my only real problem is that the joystick does lose it's accuracy over time due to it's design. It was Nintendo's first shot at an analog joystick, so we can give them a break on that for not thinking long-term. You can see they learned quickly with the much improved Game Cube one.

Re: Talking Point: Considering the Angles of a Portable and Dynamic Nintendo NX

RantingThespian

@Anti-Matter I have owned a Game Boy, a Game Boy Advanced, A DS Lite, a DSi, and I have a 3DS. However, I've always been more of a home console and PC guy. Over the years of having my 3DS, I have played it less and less and less, and played my Wii and Wii U more and more and more. Also, I wouldn't be able to "show off" my NX to friends due to the fact that I have no friends who play any type of video games (and I've tried to get them into them, but they won't budge).

While I have enjoyed portable games and systems, home consoles and PC games are what I like and prefer. If Nintendo is doubling down on the portable and not giving me a new powerful home console ... I don't know if I will be willing to fork out that much money for a primarily portable system. I'm fine with a hybrid, but this sounds more like a Super Game Boy. A portable that you can play on your TV.

Re: Review: Mighty No. 9 (Wii U)

RantingThespian

This review hits the nail on the head. I'd also like to say that the game at times feels lifeless and barren.

This was a big disappointment. I'm sad to say I backed this (but thankfully for only $20).

Re: Head of Sonic Team Explains Why Dr. Robotnik Started Going by "Eggman"

RantingThespian

@TheDavyStar King Koopa is a title, not a name. Bowser is King of the Koopas. We just didn't get his name here until later. Also, Peach is just her first name, she still is Princess Toadstool, and she was called Peach since the beginning in Japan. It just took a while until it finally was put in a western game . It first appeared in SM64. She is Princess Peach Toadstool.

They weren't name changes, we just didn't get complete names in the west.

Re: Round Up: First Mighty No. 9 Reviews Suggest The Wait Hasn't Been Worth It

RantingThespian

Sadly I am a backer. Thankfully, I only pledged enough to get a digital copy of the game. This won't deter me from giving money to future kickstarters (I have given money to several sucessful and well handeled projects since then, one being the amazing looking upcoming game OBDUCTION). However, I will never give money to Comcept ever again.

I will probably play this game a handful of times, and then let it collect dust in the corner of my external harderive.
