Re: Kosuke Yabuki Explains That Every Mario Kart is Made "From Scratch"

I'm very sadden by the lack of Arenas. In fact this has now made me very worried about MK8. My favorite memories of every MK installment have been the battles in the Arenas with my friends (especially Block Fort and Double Decker in MK64).

I don't mind them trying something new, but to just not include Arenas at all? I think it's a big mistake.

Armikrog. is well on its way to the Wii U (and of course PC) this year.

The crew is currently hard at work building sets and recording all the stop motion animation for the game. Pencil Test Studios (Ed, Mike, Lu, and the rest) has already created the whole game in "Pencil Test" form. Music is currently being written by Terry S Taylor, and audio recording with all the actors will be happening in about a month.

@CorporalPegasus I have nothing against mobile games. Heck, I am typing this on my iPad (which has many games on it, as so does my android phone and tablet)

What I don't like is the idea that Nintendo porting games that were designed with controls that can't be replicated with a touch screen (Capcom and Sega have tried . . . and it is not the same). I also don't like the idea of Nintendo using its major brands and watering them down just for quick mobile games (which is why I dislike the Rayman games for mobile).

I am against Nintendo giving into the naysayers, ruining their amazing games just to make a few bucks on mobile devices, only to have their games then forgotten 2 months later.

Yeah, the older series is a bit . . . dated. It's like comparing Star Trek and Star Trek: the Next Generation. However, the actors playing the Doctor are much better than the actor who played Kirk (I disliked Shatner in the series, but I learned to love him in the movies).

You may not want to go back to the very beginning of Doctor Who when revisiting the classics. The old series really hit it's stride with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Doctors. Sadly, the series started to take a nosedive during the 6th Doctor's era. I do not blame Colin Baker (the 6th Doctor), but I blame the BBC. The head of the BBC at that time hated Doctor Who, and was looking for ways to get it off the air. It started to redeem itself with the 7th Doctor's last year . . . but then it got the axe. The TV movie in 1996 was alright (the Master's portrayal I think wasn't handled well), but Paul McGann did a wonderful job as the Doctor. Sadly his only other screen time was on the mini episode that was made for the 50th Anniversary. However, he's been doing audio stories as the 8th Doctor for years (which he is still doing).

When it came back in 2005, I was relieved that they weren't "rebooting" it. They were just continuing it. The show reboots itself every 4-5 years, anyways. New Doctor, new companions, new story arcs. It's survived so long because of how it can change and adapt with the times, and the central character keeps changing.

I could keep talking about Doctor Who . . . but I'll stop for now.
