Re: PlatinumGames Addresses Wonderful 101 Kickstarter Custom Fees, And Backers Aren't Happy

I don’t get why the need a clause in the backer T&Cs anyway. It’s nothing to do with them.
If you’re buying stuff some outside the country in which you’d normally pay a tax for the item then customs will charge you. It’s basic knowledge for your average citizen.

Kickstarter should not have to spell out the rules of living in your own country.

Like I said before though, they could arrange to pay the custom fees or charge you the custom fees in advance. But that’s more work for them. Not every retailer does this either so I can only assume it’s not the easiest of things to manage.

I’m confused why UK people expect not to pay import duties when ordering from countries outside the EU?

Also this article suggests it’s only because they shipped from the US. Would import duties not also be due if they shipped from Japan or China? I’m pretty sure you do.

I know a lot of companies let you pay for this in advance, so you can avoid the annoying additional admin fee that Royal Mail often charge you. This should me something Kickstarter offers.

Re: Why Does The New Pokémon Snap Game On Nintendo Switch Look So Stunning?

ROBLOGNICK

Were we watching the same presentation? I thought it looked pretty basic.

The water as Wailord was surfacing was awful. The apple that had only two states of being eaten. The rest of world looked nice but it was all fairly static. I'm sure it will improve. The "not actual gameplay footage" disclaimer made it obvious they're probably very early on in development.

What I'm really starting to get fed up with is how every Pokemon of the same species looks absolutely identical. Not every tabby cat looks the same.

Re: Random: Switch Fans React To EA's Partnership With Google Stadia

ROBLOGNICK

EA are all about money. There's no way Google didn't throw money at EA for these games. Nintendo are not interested in throwing money at Electronic Arts.

I can guarantee Nintendo do not care one bit.

I'd imagine this is also because these games can easily be ported to Stadia. Sadly, with Nintendo consoles being a little underpowered compared to Xbox and PS4, some retooling always needs to be done to get them up and running on Switch and that could be a lot of work potentially. EA aren't interested in doing that regardless of the number of Switches sold.

Also, I bet EA are still bitter that Nintendo didn't use their network services for Wii U.

So why don’t they make eggs on a timer instead of needing less distance?

Incense being cheaper and more effective is a good idea.

For every 30 mins of screen time, Pelipper should deliver items from your nearest Pokestop or something. HA!

I wonder what this means for the upcoming Pokemon Safari Zone events? Luckily I can cancel my hotel for the Liverpool event but I’d be worried if I couldn’t.
