I really loved the combo of the Wii U and the black Ocarina of Time 3DS.
My favourite would have to be the Link Between Worlds 3DS XL as the Tri-Force was at least the right way up when the console was opened and in use. All other designs were upside down!
I've never seen the 2DS or 2DS XL in person. I remember REALLY wanted the 2DS XL but I don't think it ever came out in the UK / Europe. And the design is upside down again, so that's annoying. I loved how the 2DS designs started to go 3D as wll. You could press the button on the Pokeball edition that I had. The Dragon Quest Metal Slim one was so gorgeous too.
It does look stunning but definitely won't look like that on Switch. That's got to be PS5 or PC footage. Also the character movement during the platforming looks horrendous. Almost Balan Wonderworld like.
I've seen a few companies are doing multiple game bundles on the eShop at the moment and I've noticed the prices are not particularly great value. But I guess they're designed to be perceived as good value. This one is the biggest joke of them all!
It really looks like a JRPG that came out 20 years ago given an HD makeover. Still I love Xenoblade 1 and I have Xenoblade 2 though haven't actually gotten round to playing it yet. I will buy this.
I know these games didn't come out over here but I really don't understand whju in today's world (unless there's some sort of rights / distribution legal issues I guess) that these game platforms can;'t just be universal. Let us play Japanese games in Japanese if we want to. Just make it clear these games never had localisations and so are only in Japanese.
And vice-versa of course. If there are any titles that Japanese gamers don't have on NSO.
It really is stunning! Agree with others that the placement for Start / Select could move. Perhaps above the A/B buttons. And maybe could add stereo speakers?
More than anything this proves the Internet and social media have ruined they way people behave. Before they'd keep their opinions to themselves. Now they think everybody wants to know.
I'm having such a great time playing these again and the both look and play wonderfully on Switch. I hope they sell really well and we get Half-Life 2 on Switch and then maybe, finally, a new game in those series.
Is anyone else experiencing a weird error in between levels or when getting achievements on Portal 2? I get a 'unable to connect to the internet' pop-up error when it tries to load the next level or when I get an achievement. Which is weird because I know I'm connected to the internet because I get friend notifications and can go on the eShop.
I did this a few times back in the day. It was quite cool, but it was terrible quality in terms of both sound and video so I only did it as a quirky bit of fun for a song or two.
If the working conditions at Mercury Steam are so bad... and a person from there thinks working at Activision is going to be better... you might wonder if conditions at Mercury Steam will improve very soon following that person leaving...
Well I'm glad I didn't buy it. I'd rather fondly remember the good versions of this I played, rather than spoil those memories with these abominations.
What a load of rubbish. Has there only been two patches since release? And are the ports still a mess? I still have a pre-order for the physical Switch edition which I assume has now been cancelled because of this mess.
I know this is meant to be a joke but I bet that's actually how the conversation would go.
If Activision Blizzard cost Microsoft $70 billion, imagine how much Nintendo would cost them. If we're talking now, with how successful Nintendo are then hundreds of billions.
I'd be really surprised if Nintendo sold to an American company though. I'd see them more going the Sega route of merging with another Japanese company.
It’s almost like maybe we don’t need a new iPhone or Galaxy model every year. Maybe we don’t need each manufacturer having 100 different varieties of television models at any given time. Maybe there are some things that don’t need to be connected to the internet, or have computers in them at all.
Currently got this pre-ordered with Amazon Japan which is currently costing me £301.55 with the trackball and arcade stick controllers. But I will be keeping an eye on this for sure.
@River3636 Well in that case why isn't every NES, Game Boy, SNES, Game Boy Color, N64, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, DS, Wii, 3DS and Wii U game ever developed and published by Nintendo on the Switch already? If it's that simple.
I'm on the fence really. You have a lot of people here who just go 'well, we had ALL of this on their previous platform so why can't we have this all right now?' which annoys me because it's really not that simple. But then when there are clearly issues with what they have provided thus, you can't not be annoyed at Nintendo. I'd rather Nintendo deliver good emulation and get a game out once a month / 6 weeks. But when you can't map buttons yet, and graphics are pretty appalling, then maybe they just shouldn't bother! With Paper Mario we better get some QoL improvements across the board with the N64 games, and I hope they're working on graphics on the other games behind the scenes as well.
I don't get why this has been delayed. It was originally set for next week, so surely it's all been manufactured. The only reason I can think of is to stop more people playing these awful ports and complaining to them.
I don't believe Nintendo don't have the power to issue a takedown of this. They own the trademark of the Mother logo in Japan at least. And just because Nintendo might not go after them doesn't mean Shigesato Itoi won't. Also, if there are any elements of this that are directly taken or copied from Mother / Earthbound, including characters, music, any graphics, story elements, Nintendo are likely to go after them.
But what they should do is employ them because WOW this is is STUNNING.
I don't get what everybody is seeing when they say the Vita version looks better. I don't think it always looks better, but it certainly looks different. I noticed more slowdown on the Vita than I did on the Switch. Switch seems to have some worse textures, people are cartoonified so their faces aren't as detailed but clothing is more detailed on Switch in some places. It's darker in some places. It's a seemingly weird choice of compromises. I'm not sure I agree that it look worse. I'm gonna buy it anyway because it's been so long since I played a GTA game. I think the last time I played one was the Stories games on PSP.
