Re: Stardew Valley Creator Reveals His Next Game, Haunted Chocolatier

ROBLOGNICK

I love this art style. I bought Stardew Valley but I really struggled to get into it. I need someone to hold my hands in the opening of this game. I just get so lost and it feels aimless, like, it's literally 'do what you want, I don't care' but even just a subtle push into a basic direction would help. This looks just as good and I love the combat and shop building.

I'm not sure a white person at Nintendo Life telling a Latino person their argument about lack of diversity isn't valid is a good look.

Though I'm thankful for this thread because it's let me know who I should ignore - wow, some of the replies.

Chris Pratt only has this role because Hollywood. Someone else could do this role just as well, if not better. Jack Black could be a good Bowser though.

Re: Where To Pre-Order The Taito EGRET II Mini

So I've got this ordered from Amazon.co.jp. I have the base unit, the roller and the arcade stick. All ordered as separate packages, just shy of £300 including shipping and import fee (at the time of writing). The list of games is amazing! Elevator Action, all the Puzzle Bobble games, Rainbow Islandsm, New Zealand Stories. All those beat 'em ups, shooters!

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think The "Switch Pro" Will Actually Be Called?

ROBLOGNICK

Super Nintendo Switch sounds cool to my ears but I'm not sure it would do well with a marketing team because last time Nintendo put 'Super' in front of a system, it was a brand new system.

New Nintendo Switch makes sense based on previous Nintendo naming conventions and it helps understand that it's still Nintendo Switch is still the same series but it's the new version.

The trouble with Nintendo Switch+ would be other companies use this moniker to indicate a bigger screen size so could cause confusion.

If I was a betting person, I'd bet on 'New'.

Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different

ROBLOGNICK

Amiibo are not physical DLC. They don't download a new feature to the game. The feature is already there, you just need the amiibo to use it.

I don't know if I"d think it better or worse if it withheld (unnecessary but fun) portions of the game like Twilight Princess. The scarcity of them makes me think it'd be worse.

But fake amiibo cards are easy to come by these days aren't they?

And as others have mentioned I don't think this is a QoL improvement to the game, it's more of a cheat because it lets you fly to the sky in dungeons when that is really a little illogical seeing as you're in a building, or probably underground.

Re: Zelda & Loftwing Is The Only amiibo Compatible With Skyward Sword HD

ROBLOGNICK

Very strange. Even if all it did was top up your hearts or other items. I know there ism potential for Nintendo to reveal more info about the game (if there is more to tell) but it seems Nintendo are being less ambitious with this re-release if they intent to charge full price and provide a bigger than standard amiibo.

Trouble is this is a new game to a lot of the people that played Breath of the Wild that might be interested in it so they may not realise or care.

And people (like me) will by the amiibo because regardless it's a gorgeous little figure to collect.

Re: Random: Nintendo Ironically Celebrates All Mario Switch Games With Fans, Weeks Before Wiping Some From Existence

ROBLOGNICK

Nintendo Life being Nintendo Life with the clickbait.

So let's be clear: The games are not being wiped from existence. If you bought them in physical format you will always have them.

It was announced before they were released that they would be discontinued at the end of March. People that want the game have had plenty of time to buy. There have certainly been no stock shortages that I've seen reported.

If you downloaded them they will always be on your Switch - make sure you keep them on an SD card otherwise long after the Switch is discontinued you may no longer be able to re-download them. This is not an issue unique to Nintendo Switch. You make that choice when you buy digital only. It is unreasonable to expect a any company to support an online infrastructure when the cost becomes greater than the return.

Do we know if Super Mario 35 will work after it's no longer available to download?

I'd also point out that Super Mario 35 was free to those with Nintendo Switch Online. Nintendo is under no obligation to support it forever.

But I don't get the point of them taking them off the online store. Super Mario 35 is a good way to get people interested in Nintendo Switch Online as its fun. Mario 3D All Stars is surely easy money for Nintendo with people still buying Nintendo Switches by the bucket load. Sure, don't produce the p
physical version anymore, but removing the digital one? Just weird business practices. All physical games eventually have their production discontinued.
