People excited for icons? Really? No wonder Nintendo think they can put out anything, other than what people really want, and still be praised for putting in minimal effort. How about getting people excited for GAMES,and i don't mean more lacklustre ports. So far this year i can't see where I'm going to be spending my money on anything for the Switch. The ps4 on the other hand? Give me a reason to give you money Nintendo, i dare you
just picked up my copy. Can't wait to get my teeth into it later tonight. The demo was really nice and I've avoided all gameplay videos outside of the demo. Loved the original RE2,although it's hard to remember much of it now,so it's going to be good going in fresh
Given it'll be at least 3 years until we see anything from it, there's a good chance it won't be playable on the current Switch. So maybe the next Switch iteration or new console is a good bet. Can only hope for either a Prime Trilogy or a port of Samus Returns. Well Nintendo love a port so I would guess both
A series could be good if handled properly and if it follows the source material. Can't wait to pick up RE2 remake later. Nintendo yet again not getting a huge 3rd party title that people are excited for. Undoubtedly one of the games of the year already from what I've seen and the demo was great.......and Nintendo put out NSMBU in comparison ๐. Nintendo must know they need these big releases to fill the huge gaps between their own games. Whether that means releasing a more capable Switch to run these games then so be it.I'm sure most people would upgrade if it means getting these games on a Nintendo platform
@RandomLeo00 I'll have to check out his videos. I need all the help I can get to be even remotely competent at the game. it's always been one of those games I've wanted to get better at after watching how the pros play it
Some RDR2 and some portable Warframe/Wolfenstein 2. I seem to play my Switch portable more than anything now. Coming off the back of RDR2,which i know isn't really a fair comparison, Switch games on the tv don't seem as appealing ๐
Some great console deals if looking to get a Switch, but where are the game deals? Also Picstop are doing a 200gb Sandisk Ultra sd card for 32.99 at the moment i believe.
@Bunkerneath yes just seen that myself. Was tempted at the sale price. need a Micro SD card though rather than more games. Did check the Diablo offer too but that's gone already
@Varkster I too haven't picked up Spiderman, although people say it's good. To be honest I am starting to be more selective with games I pick up.Certainly recently with regards to publishers/developers implementing/forcing their political views/agendas into their games (One of the reasons TLOU 2 has turned me off). Also, with the push for additional charges at every turn in a lot of single player games. Sony have a few of games I'll keep an eye on,Ghost of Tsushima,Sekiro,Resident Evil 2 remake. I just think they would be showing the same games as the last 2 years and would it not go down well. It won't be the same should any one of the 3 be absent which is a shame they won't be there. To be honest I'll still be playing RDR2 for the next 6 month's anyway ๐
@Varkster How about the god awful 30 minute segment of Smash Bros? That killed their presentation for me. it was more than apparant they had nothing else to show. Knowing also there'd be other directs for it post E3 was just a kick in the nutbag. Nintendo have had a disappointing year to be honest. However with regards to past e3 shows where Nintendo were getting constant crap from Sony fanboys about Nintendo not 'showing up' with regards to the change to a video presentation, I wonder if there will be the defence force out for Sony's decision to ACTUALLY not show up ๐. Shame really, but they've shown pretty much the same games for the last 2 years and would likely do so again which would just annoy people further
@fafonio Very true, which is why I worry about their influence in FromSoftwares new game,Sekiro. They're up there with EA in regards to the worst things about the gaming industry
@JayJ You mean as apposed to someone who's pro digital calling anti digital people weird for no reason, other than because its not your preference. Why does it bother you how people buy their games?I prefer physical personally because the push by these publishers in the future is stream only. Microsoft are going for this already with their next console if the rumours are true. I personally don't like this direction because you're then at the mercy of these publishers as to how long certain games will remain available and also how good or bad your internet is. And lets be honest, the big publishers these days have already got too much power over consumers with them reselling you original content that's already in a game, but also pushing you to spend more on content in the game you can't get unless you hand over more money. The stream model for the Switch in japan is a perfect example because you being charged to only rent the game for a certain amount of time, you never actually own it. Maybe seen as the future in terms of technology advancing, but its certainly not advancing your rights as a consumer when your options are lessened to being outright removed
Why even bother at this point? Even if they decide to it'll be two years from now before it released. They'll probably be thinking of a sequel themselves by that time meaning the Switch will get the old game rather than the new one
I remember watching that episode of Gamesmaster and laughing at the whole thing. the excuses, the tantrum and diamond winding him up along the way. Good he can laugh about it now though I guess ๐
@saintayu I agree, but then why not just say it's not for you? I have no interest in Pokemon or Smash so Nintendo have nothing for me till well into next year it seems on the first party front, but that's my criticism of Nintendo at the moment. But I wouldn't then proceed to say people that buy those games are the mindless masses
@saintayu Maybe you should take a walk outside the world of Nintendo and realise there are incredible games on other platforms out there. I've only played a few hours of RDR2 so far and it's quality is more than apparent. I get if it's not for you then fine, but to just say it's mindless idiots that buy these games is more than ignorant. Maybe it's a hipster thing to go against something popular thats undoubtledly brilliant or taking offence to an incredible game on Nintendo's behalf because of fanboy reasons or maybe just the realisation that a Nintendo platform won't ever be getting games like RDR2 at any point. Well horses for courses right?
Will these make up for the lack of the RE2 Remake coming to Switch?........no. Capcom aren't even being subtle anymore about their lack of interest in bringing new games to the Switch. If there are people that haven't played these then i guess they're worth it. I doubt they'll be priced fairly though when compared to other HD versions out there. The Switch is quickly becoming an afterthought for the majority of third parties now,a cash cow for them with old ports as their only interest for the platform IMO
@Hughesy Yep my biggest criticism and shouldn't be a thing when compared to the original 7 year old game. I really hope they patch it. Some of the boss themes in this game are fantastic. Lord Gwyn especially ๐
@Expa0 that's right and maybe its a lot to do with All PS controllers essentially being a SNES pad,so I guess it makes sense being that โ on a PS controller is A on Nintendo controllers. Still its a stupid annoyance that shouldn't exist with regards to the Switch version of Dark Souls
@BornInNorway81 Compressed to the point it sounds like an N64 game. Not acceptable considering they had several more months to iron out any issues. Its just lazy, especially when compared to the audio of the 7 year old original never mind the recent other remasters. Just seems like a "that'll do" attitude that seems too common when it comes to third parties and Nintendo platforms. Even the simple integration of being able to swap menu inputs is purposefully not active.......just....why?maybe its just another attempt at trolling by FromSoftware. Its just disappointing knowing these two issues should have never been issues in the first place, and i personally think it would be the best console version of Dark Souls seeing as it sticks to the original look of the game which most people prefer. 60fps would've been nice but a consistent 30fps is fine. Got a feeling I'll be getting this as a xmas present so maybe by then they will have patched it hopefully
@Woosh193 I wasnt refering to there being sound problems. The point is,that the sound quality is bad when compared to it's 7 year old equivalent. There is no excuse for it when the game itself looks and runs better overall than the 7 year old version. It's another example of game publishers cutting corners when porting games to the Switch to make a quick sale. Blatantly treating Nintendo platforms and gamers as an afterthought all for the sake of squeezing it onto the smallest possible cartridge rather than making it the best it could be. Lets not forget they've had several more months to improve on it too. You can't even swap the menu inputs ๐ even though they're listed but greyed out.It makes no sense. @Orpheus79V I too didn't like how it looked on ps4 so wanted to hold off for the Switch version. I prefer the original look and the Switch being a better version of it is more appealing to me but I can't excuse the terrible sound quality so it's a no buy for me unless they actually address it
@AhabSpampurse The sound has been drastically compressed. To the point of it sounding like an N64 game. Watch the DF video to hear it. The difference against the 7year old original game. There is no excuse for it being worse and ruins the experience. I personally won't be buying it unless they address it
The several months of extra time they had to get it onto the switch makes the dismal quality of the sound that much harder to swallow. There is no excuse for the sound to be so bad and it plays a large part in the overall experience of this game. That and not having the ability to swap the two main action buttons is another oversite that has no reasoning whatsoever. Got to wonder if they'll even bother to patch these issues at this point, which would be such a shame as it surely can't be hard to address these two issues. The sound problem NEEDS to be patched. It sounds awful, how can it be worse than 7 years ago?
I'll never support a move within the gaming industry where I don't own what I'm paying for. A glorified rental service where it's dictated to me as and when I can play is no future I want for gaming personally
The compressed audio issue detracts from the overall experience of the game for me. The fantastic soundtrack of this game deserves better. I'll wait for a patch before I buy it again. I'm in no rush to buy again either though as from 26th October all bets are off ๐

It blows my mind that the online service was delayed for a year and it's painfully lacking. NES games are all they're going to offer? Tie that alongside a stupidly lacking release schedule of games overall for this year, nothing whatsoever in regards to big third party releases other than 10 year old ports. Nintendo really know how to mess up a good thing that they've had for the first year or so. All they've made me realise is that,I will spend more time with my ps4/ps3 when I get available game time. It's taken Nintendo 18months to provide this 'service'. It hasnt been worth the wait or money. I only really paid for it so my kids could play Splatoon 2 and I could play some online MHGU
