Re: Adorable 'Little Nemo' Metroidvania Wakes Up On Switch Next Year

Art style is a p significant downgrade from the original kickstarter but this still looks p good. Gameplay looks fun enough and the backgrounds look beautiful. Pre-rendered animated segments look HORRIBLE stylistically, though. It's really jarring going from that awful google-ad looking slop art to the actual stylized stuff in the game itself and the fact some designs like Flip and Silas look kinda ugly doesn't really help that.

Re: "If You're A Real Fan, You'll Find A Way" - Borderlands 4 Dev Gives Tone Deaf Response To Price Concerns

@UltimateOtaku91 Difference is Mario is a universally beloved character by young and old alike. Borderlands on the other hand only has a few dedicated fans remaining nowadays, I'd go as far to say the reputation it has currently is largely negative. From a collective 0 people playing Tiny Tina's wonderlands, to the movie completely bombing critically and financially, to it's writing frequently being the subject of discussions around how obnoxious the overly quippy 2010's MCU style of writing has gotten, people have largely turned on the franchise. The series has largely lost its' starpower, especially compared to the Juggernaut Mario and Nintendo as a whole is, so assuming people will wanna buy this just cause MKW is doing well is kinda silly.

Re: Nintendo Updates Its User Agreement To Crack Down On Emulation

@Rosona Which is why they shouldn't go full tyranical-dictator from-a-dystopian sci-fi-novel mode bricking people's switches remotely and sicing their lawyers and law enforcement on people for something as simple as modifying a console or selling cheap famicom bootlegs. It never stops this stuff from happening and does nothing but make enemies out of potential fans. You don't see Capcom, Valve, Microsoft, Sony, (sort of) Sega, etc. pulling this crap, yet their products still consistently do gangbusters in terms of sales regardless.

Re: Gearbox's Randy Pitchford Admits Borderlands 4 Might Follow Nintendo's New Pricing

@cedarhyped No, I'm mad about a company that has no care or heart for the people that appreciate and work for it. In what universe is firing your employee immediately after they bring up the possibility of a union, something that only benefits employees and makes their live better, or crediting a song creator, something as effortless as putting their name in a credits sequence, not at the very least sleezy and undesirable? Sure, they're not as bad as some of the atrocities companies like Konami or Actiblizzard have committed, but that doesn't mean it's excusable, and I'm tired of them getting a free pass because they make universally beloved games. This is more than just me getting mad at 80$ games, it's me getting mad at a proven cycle of Nintendo stomping all over the people who support them and getting away with it.

Re: Super Mario World Looks To Be The Official Name Of The Next Mario Movie

PinballBuzzbro

@Zaruboggan Completely agree with you omg, the first 20 or so minutes of the film are genuinely really gripping but once they enter the Mushroom Kingdom it kinda just becomes A Troll in Central Park 2 and barely anything that happens during it sticks with you outside of sheer spectacle and a mild chuckle here and there. Hoping this sequel actually tackles giving the characters more depth and it's not like Despicable Me where the characters stay still and stagnant forever after the second film😭

@tektite_captain charging people 80$ for a game isn’t inherently evil, but you know what is?

-Refusing to credit your composers and developers for big movies and video game releases
-Suing other devs for simply being inspired by your ideas
-Having your ceo fire and blacklist employees for bringing up union suggestions to him and claiming they “made him sad” as an excuse
-Treating contract developers like sweatshop toymakers

Re: Japanese Retailer Is Asking The Public How To Combat Switch 2 Scalpers

PinballBuzzbro

We should be focusing less on combating switch 2 scalpers and more on combating the greedy obese slimeball politicians and CEOs who keep pushing for the common people to pay exorbitant prices for this stuff. People hoarding these consoles to sell them on third party sites wouldn't be NEARLY as much of a problem if they were just affordable and easy to obtain.

Re: Mini Review: Rendering Ranger: R2 [Rewind] (Switch) - A Novel Run 'N' Gun/Shooter Hybrid That's Finally Affordable

PinballBuzzbro

I wanna love this game so badly but the weapon system is just god awful, one of the worst of any run and gun i've ever played. Everytime you die, your weapon power gets reset to 1, which doesn't sound bad, but your level 1 firepower is so hellishly pitiful that even something as simple as a thin door you need to blast through to proceed takes I KID YOU NOT 10 whole seconds or more, so when you take that and try shooting enemies who have more health than that, it just becomes an unfun slog of an experience where you cant even lay a scratch on even the smallest of enemies, but they can rip through your life bar and kill you effortlessly. Play the turrican games or any of the run n guns over on the sega genesis instead, they're all way more worth your time and a lot of them like ultracore and contra hard corps are already available on the switch.

Re: Random: Sakurai Sends Fans Into Meltdown Ahead Of Switch Direct

PinballBuzzbro

This guy is like the Zack Snyder of video games, as in his work isn’t anything groundbreaking or revolutionary, but his followers just rave like deranged cultists if he does so much as just blow his nose on a livestream. Like he literally just went “oh neat they’re doing a Nintendo direct:p” and immediately people think we’re gonna get like. Super Mario 64 odyssey ultimate Kirby super smash star 4 feat. half life 3, so when the direct inevitably isnt the most crazy thing in the world, everyone will just be like “GRAAAAH THIS SUCKED WORST DIRECT EVER” and ignore all the actually cool announcements like they always do 🙄

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With Four More Titles

PinballBuzzbro

@jsty3105 It's not the titles themselves for me, i shouldve worded my original comment differently I admit. It's the fact nintendo continuously takes near-year long gaps with adding games to these services even though the games with VERY few exceptions are always really simple stuff that doesn't warrant such a long wait. People always say it's licensing issues because nintendo has to work things out with companies, but i cry false on that. Way smaller companies like Hamster and GOG with a fraction of a fraction of the money Nintendo has are able to work deals out with these same companies for THEIR legacy stuff at an INFINITELY quicker and more reasonable rate with harder hitting games, by comparison there's no excuse for this baffling dripfeed approach Nintendo is taking with NSO.

Re: Feature: Strictly Limited Responds To Switch Delays And Discontent, And Details An Ambitious Target

PinballBuzzbro

I want nothing but for this company to go under. The year long shipping delays are one thing, but on top of that, they straight up LIE to their customer's faces FLAT OUT on a CONSTANT basis. I ordered their Turrican games physically for almost 200 dollars, because their ceo and the listing on the website said the physical cartridge version would be the only medium the turrican anthology collections would be released on, whereas digital storefronts would simply get the inferior Turrican Flashback. So I waited almost 2 YEARS for the things to arrive in my mailbox, and when i FINALLY got them, literally less then 2 days afterwards they silently dropped the Turrican Anthologies onto the switch eshop despite LITERALLY SAYING PRIOR that they would only EVER be released on cartridge and they had no plans to go digital with them. They did this with the Wonder Boy collection too, and in fact were so bad with keeping promises with their Asha in Monster world release, that they straight up lost the rights to selling it and the game (with the bonus of the og monster world iv being playable they originall promised as "exclusive" to their physical version) instead became widely purchaseable on Amazon and other outlets under a different publisher who actually knows what they're doing. I can respect wanting to make physical versions of obscure old games and whatnot, but when you do it in this insane snake-oil-salesman-level way of straight up lying to your consumers, that's where I draw the line and begin to despise you.
