Cat Quest, with its cute yet challenging world of RPG mechanics and sword-wielding felines, has already left some memorable claw marks on the Nintendo Switch eShop, and now it's preparing to do the same for retail shelves the world over.
Publisher PQube has confirmed the action-RPG will be getting a physical release on 7th September in Europe and on 11th September in North America. So if you've missed out on this 2D hack 'n' slasher in digital form (or you're a collector) you can pick up a copy on a game card in a few of months time.
Have you played Cat Quest? Does a physical edition make a game more of an attractive prospect, or is the usual bigger price tag an issue?

I deleted this game after playing for 5 mins.
A little late, no ?
Purrfect! Am so glad I had paws for thought on the download. Will try to pre-order it right meow. I have a good feline about this game.
@Nincompoop So, two minutes after you beat it?
Decent game while it lasted, but woefully short. I spread it out over a few hours one weekend and had a distinctly "...that's it?" impression. I get that a lot of indie games go for quality over length, but there was just something about the overt repetition and simplicity of CQ that just didn't work for me.
@Morgan19 - This definitely tells me I suspect a budget had something to do with the decision to release it.
Shame though, I cannot figure out a reason this didn't look fun in a whimsical way. Shame it's that short.
@LilVoidBoy Meow Meow
This would have been funny if I only understood what it means...
Not really a double dipper kind of game.
@LilVoidBoy
Oh yeah, the comment section is gonna be a total cat-astrophe!

You have ULTIMATE taste buddy !
You earn my eternal respect !
Of course it is!!! Every digital game I buy gets one....
Not interested as got this digitally. Was a fun short romp. Now if 2 gets physical I'll grab that instead of digital.
@Nincompoop damn!!!
While the first game wasn’t purr-fect, I’m hoping the second will be the cat’s meow.
@LilVoidBoy I'm really feline it!!!
This page is littered with puns
It received a pawsitive review from NLife.
Just preordered the EUR version a week ago. I would've held out for the NA version if I had known. Oh well, the region of origin doesn't matter, so long as I have a physical copy.
Seriously - big 3rd party publishers - are you not seeing this? This game sold great digitally and will again physically, with little competition aside from 1st party physical titles. If you have a game that seamlessly ports - DO IT. If you don't have one, make one tailored for Switch. Crazy.
I don't think anyone really wants a physical version of Cat Quest but I guess they see a reason to do it.
Clawesome! I've been pawfully curious about this game--from what I've heard it may not be purrfect, it's a good fit for someone feline up to a bit of a challenge. This might just be a furst-day purrchase, although I have too many games to play right meow as it is.
