Surprised to see Limited Run Games publishing these, especially since these are considered to be real Konami classics. BUT it seems they did a great job with different covers and all.
Imagine working for a director who talks ***** about your team in the media — even 20 years later (and after Ōkami becoming a signature game for the studio he was part of). I would not want to work for this guy.
Everyone that can afford a 350-400 dollar console will also be able to afford a Micro SD card, so I think Nintendo will definitely see this as a saving option — at least in the first iteration of their console.
"We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. [...] We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games." — Nintendo, December 1, 2022
@Olliemar28 Could you at least show the euro prices next to the pound prices? You wrote it as a more generic news item about "European" eShop sales, but the prices only apply to UK.
How about some work on the game engine first? Fix the most severe perfomance issues... and deliver the "fixes" that were promised by Nintendo back in December.
@LadyCharlie I fully agree. The only way you can get into the same race with friends is by entering a lobby at the same time (have been trying this multiple times last night). Definitely feels like a missed opportunity, since you are also encouraged to defeat "rivals".
Noticed it while reading the Pikmin 4 review, but am wondering how effective it is as the accessibility report is hard to read. What does a 1 behind Content mean, for example? Is this a 1 out of x, 1 out of 5... there's no sense of scale. I think it's meant to be informative (no scores), but it looks like a score card.
"We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games."
Again, no performance improvements. Despite Nintendo acknowledging on December 3, 2022 (!!) they were aware of the issues / promising they would work on improvements to the games. It's almost 6 months later now.
OTII is my favourite game of the year so far, but as it stands now, sales numbers aren’t strong enough to justify a third game (at least not for now). Miyauchi-san knows that too I think, hence the polite reply on the Famitsu question.
I absolutely love this. Toruzz did some amazing work on Super Mario Land DX and Super Mario Land 2 DX in the past, this is as good as it can get. Will pre-order the GBC game for sure.
@DreamlandGem Yep, that's the same list as in the article. I think "tip what you like" was unclear then. It means you can pay extra for the Supporter Program if you prefer to do so, right?
So liking comments will be behind a paywall? Not good.
I am willing to pay something extra, as I visit Nintendolife and Pushsquare on a daily basis, but feel the perks of a paid account are not worth it. I would love some QOL additions (like a better mobile experience) or exclusive content/deals for subscribers.
These games won't get fixed on Switch. You can't repair a poorly running engine on outdated hardware. The only thing we will see this year are small bug fixes and minor optimization tweaks.
@Lizuka For me there was actually a tipping point in the Desert world (I think it is around Chapter 12?). More interesting characters, better music, more variety in goals and maps.
Well this basically hints at a new Nintendo system in 2024, right? Pokémon Company has been releasing a new Pokémon game almost every year for over a decade now (with the exception of 2015 and "Corona" year 2020).
Disappointed by this low effort article. There's a huge leak on the most anticipated game of the year and all that Ollie did is mentioning a random message from Stealth on Twitter (??). A bit more context and investigation would have been appreciated (keeping it spoiler free).
@Happyhippohat Thanks for this link, I did not know the contract was publicly available. This gives a little bit more insight on what was agreed on.
I still think Conrad could have done more to please the people who bought his game, even though the relationship with the publisher went sour. Taking it publicly is not always the best course of action. We'll see how this plays out.
@PigmaskFan Well, we don't know what was in the contract. It can't be in the interest of the publisher to launch with the "more buggy" version of the game either, right? There is just so much to this story that doesn't add up. Both parties are sabotaging each other.
While I do support the developer in gaining control over his own creation, it does sound like there is more to this story than he likes us to believe... it is clear that both parties handled the situation poorly.
Why did the dev not work with the publisher to get these bugs fixed after release, before he knew they were going to hold back on payment? Did the publisher actually breach contract by releasing the game with bugs? The dev is responsible for a polished game, not the publisher.
That said, I think Digerati is a ***** publisher. I saw the video in December and some immature comments from them on Twitter and do not like how they handled this either. Best end to this would be if both parties can settle these disputes on their own. Conrad should get full control over the game and get time to fix these issues... Digerati should pay him according to contract and work together on a roadmap.
Curious why they are releasing this one week after Anno 1800 (even though that game can only be played on PS5/Series X/S). Doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do if the audience is almost the same.

@Banks In that case, I apologize for making the suggestion! Shovel Knight definitely deserves the spotlight this month.

Would prefer it if you guys are bit more transparent on this though. (Even though I love Shovel Knight and Mina the Hollower!)
