@Olliemar28 “All Nippon Airways has collaborated with The Pokémon Company on numerous occasions, with perhaps one of the more famous examples being the ANA Puzzle Swap panel that was made available via SpotPass on 3DS in 2012.”
@JimNorman “The Mega Gold Points Promotion runs from 5th-8th August, offering additional Gold Points on all eShop purchases”
The link you provided at the bottom states that this runs from the 5th to the 18th, not the 8th. Additionally, it says ‘selected’ eShop purchases, not ‘all’.
“Then there's the Mega Free Games Trial period from 18th-25th”
Again, the link states that this begins on the 19th, not the 18th.
Went today and paid for 3 entries, got 2 N64 buttons and an NA SNES button. Fortunately, soon after, I managed to trade one of the former for a GC C-stick, and the latter for an N64 stick with other customers.
@dew12333 So you’re saying that the punishment of only 1 year in prison is too severe? For multiple death threats against potentially thousands of people? Especially after the Kyoto Animation arson attack?
‘Sticks & stones may *break my bones’ only applies to insults and name-calling. Serious threats against life are in absolutely no way similar to calling someone a stinky poo-poo head
@Zeebor15 I have the European version. What’s the difference between that and the North American version? Afaik, there are only two versions: the digital-only NA/PAL English versions, and the Asian Japanese/Chinese versions.
@Zeebor15 ??? The remakes were released in Europe and Australia too.
@JohnnyMind @Vyacheslav333 iirc, the Japanese versions of the remakes only have Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese subtitles available, so as long as you can understand one of those languages, you should be fine.
@Not_Soos As @YunoboCo said, if you’re ever running low, just use the FE, AC and Mario Run apps to top up. The one-time achievements for doing basic stuff like linking your SNS or even My Nintendo account usually give quite a few Platinum Points. FE is particularly great as you don’t even have to actually play it lol, I’ve had 1000s of points from that game just by auto-playing every single battle.
I’m not getting it purely for the fact that yeah, the art gallery and sound test isn’t enough new content for me to get it again, but it’s a great game. Hope all those playing it for the first time really enjoy it.
@PedroMatos I also voted NA/PAL like you, but the Japanese box art of Yellow is just as consistent with the JP versions of Red, Green and Blue. Unless you mean the rest of the series after Gen I too?
@Dm9982 Yeah, in the Western versions of HeartGold & SoulSilver, they replaced the slots with Voltorb Flip, a minesweeper-esque game. You may be thinking of that.
@Dm9982 Any link to that article? Any screenshots? Any video evidence? Because I am almost certain that you are confusing those releases with the Let’s GO remakes on Switch. I can’t find anything on Serebii, Bulbapedia, YouTube, Wikipedia, Reddit, this website, etc about it.
@Dm9982 ? The slots were not disabled in the Game Corners of the Virtual Console ports of Gen I & II afaik. Can you find any evidence of this online? I know that’s the reason why the games received higher age ratings, but I have not seen any proof that the Game Corners were edited in any way for those releases whatsoever.
@Gryffin That may be true in the US, but the price here in Japan is ¥5,400, which is like $35/£28, compared to $50/£40. Even if that’s the same price I paid for Pokémon Scarlet, Mario Wonder, etc, that’s still low enough for it to be worth it for me, and apparently 61,929 other people in Japan.
@Shade_Koopa I thought that’s what you meant. Incorrect. It couldn’t play GameCube games or connect online. It could play Wii discs. How else would it officially be able to play games?
So in fact, it was the complete opposite of what you said it was. It was a physical-only system.
Super Metroid, Undertale, Breath of the Wild and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. All four of those games were such refreshing experiences the first time through, and are of course still great subsequently, but I think those are the ones that replays will never quite capture the magic of again.
@thesilverbrick I would personally disagree, I felt that much of the music from both the base game and the DLC was annoyingly repetitive. Although I think that the Gen V battle themes were remade decently, I feel that the various BW tracks shoehorned into the Terrarium BGM were mixed in poorly - it feels forced and really unnatural, like yes, I get it, this is in Unova. Legends Arceus was a much better example of subtly remixing Gen IV tracks (granted, I’m sure development of that game had a much higher budget and definitely had a longer time cycle than Indigo Disk). I’m actually unsure if Toby Fox was responsible for the Terrarium’s music, but I’ve felt ever since the Battle Tower theme he composed for Sword and Shield that his compositions for Pokémon do not fit, and I am really not a fan. His Undertale and Deltarune OSTs are fantastic, but I personally wish Game Freak would drop him. I understand I’m in the minority with that opinion, though.
With that said, the Academy music is also a rare banger in Scarlet & Violet. If that’s a Fox track, then that’s a redeeming quality.
@Truegamer79 Keep trying man, you’ll get there. The only thing I have left to do in the game is get all 100 possible coins on Midas River, which I am hating. One thing that they should have patched in is the ability to restart a minigame, rather than have to leave the area entirely, reselect that area on the world map, and then go through the whole process of beginning the minigame again, only to be asked if you want the rules read to you for the billionth time…
@Olliemar28 “The Western release of Donkey Konga contained a mix of covers and Nintendo music, with artists like Blink-182, Kylie Minogue, Willie Nelson, and Queen all making an appearance”
None of Kylie’s songs appeared in either the North American or European editions of Donkey Konga 1 or 2 🤔 also the Willie Nelson track is exclusive to the North American version. It was replaced in Europe.
EDIT: I assume you’re referring to ‘The Loco-Motion’ for Kylie, but that was first performed by Little Eva.
No shade on anyone that prefers traditional Zelda, but I personally hope they’ll continue in the same vein as the Switch instalments. I’ve played most games in the series, and the only one I could actually see through to the end before getting bored is Majora’s Mask. I agree with others above that Aonuma’s comments regarding more restrictive gameplay only being a bad thing are just flat-out wrong (if said comments are translated correctly), but in this particular case, I think the open-world freedom is fantastic and I welcome more of it.
@_fatto_katto_ As stated above this comment by Liam, it originates from Tropical Freeze, where Dixie and Cranky were similarly denoted by DX and CK respectively.

Re: The First Review For Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club Is In
That translates to like 4 stars, or a 77.5. That’s a good score.
Re: Online 'Pop-Up Shop' Brings Former Japan-Exclusive Zelda Merch To My Nintendo Store (Europe)
I bought the Majora’s Mask pin here in Osaka. They’re more than double the price on the EU Nintendo Store than they are in Japan 💀
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Astro Boy: Omega Factor
The Western cover makes it look as if he has breasts. Voting Japan.

Wasn’t that a collab with Nintendo? Not TPC?
Re: 'Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club' ESRB Rating Summary Reveals Horrific Themes
Clearly ‘Nintendeal’ didn’t play The Missing Heir, as that same swear word appears at the climax of that game, too.
Re: Nintendo Is Hiring 'Nintendo Experience Specialists' In Canada
@Sethdedun Unless it’s been added since you made your comment, it’s sourced at the bottom of the article.
Re: Random: New Zelda: OOT Speedrunning Route Requires A Wii U GamePad And A Rubber Band
“Remember that mostly useless 'TV Remote mode' that would turn your GamePad into... well... a TV remote?”
I used to use that all the time. It’s very useful if the original remote has been lost or broken.

A new DKC, or something in the vein of Donkey Kong ‘94/GB.

@Kyloctopus It’s still there. Look carefully at the green banner towards the bottom of the box.
Re: My Nintendo Store Reveals Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Pre-Order Bonus & Bundles (UK)
The official Nintendo account misspelt ‘receive’ in its own infographic. Embarrassing.
Re: Sega Implies That Releasing Sonic Superstars Next To Super Mario Bros. Wonder Wasn't Smart
Also that this game is a 6/10 at best. The later Zones suck, and the bosses are the worst in the franchise’s history.
Re: Batman: Arkham Knight Still Runs Poorly On Switch Despite Massive Update
@Serpenterror This game wasn’t on Wii U.

https://switch.nintendo.com/kids/ “Create your checklist! You can check off Nintendo Switch systems…”
I’m sure it’s featured in other trailers and adverts too, but I’m not about to trawl through YouTube videos to prove the point more.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Announced, Coming To Switch In 2025
@the_beaver It’s referring to Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite. Not the first time ‘Switch systems’ has been used like that by a long stretch.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Announced, Coming To Switch In 2025
@Rockboy247 No it doesn’t. It screams one, internationally, on the same day.

@Rockboy247 Launching simultaneously worldwide in 2025, yeah.

Re: Soapbox: An Ode To Marble Garden, Sonic The Hedgehog 3's Best Zone

@Serpenterror No, the closest we got was Yoshi’s Safari.
EDIT: Ditto to the comment above 😂
Re: Video: Super Nintendo World Donkey Kong Country Expansion Commercials Released
@Poodlestargenerica That’s why you capitalise the ‘R’ in ‘Retro’, a proper noun 😉
Re: Video: Super Nintendo World Donkey Kong Country Expansion Commercials Released
@Handy_Man Ditto, but unfortunately I doubt it. Seems they’re going the Retro route.
