And we're back for the next instalment of our 'Games We Missed' series, where Nintendo Life readers nominate great Switch games we weren't able to cover with a review.

For Part 13(!) of this twice-yearly series, we've got a whopping 42 games to consider for your wishlist spanning Switches 1 and 2, with trailers for your perusal, too.

At this time of year, especially, the cadence of games releasing is intense, and as much as we'd like to, it's impossible for us to review every game which catches our eye. Luckily, we know some lovely people who are happy to add their recommendations to ours, and this is the result.

Thank you to everyone who sent their nominations. At the bottom of the list you'll find a poll, so let us know which of these you've also enjoyed playing.

So, in alphabetical order, let's dive in...

Agent Intercept Switch eShop

Kicking things off is Solar Jetman who has enjoyed spy-themed racer Agent Intercept:

Anyone who enjoyed Spy Hunter would do well to check out Agent Intercept. Taking some cues from Sayonara Wild Hearts, it’s a simple but fun action racer where you need only two buttons — accelerator and weapons — as your vehicle drives automatically as you steer. Like Spy Hunter, your vehicle transforms into a boat — which has serious Cobra Triangle vibes — and MAYBE more (no spoilers). Stylish graphics, side missions, optional objectives to unlock various features, online leaderboards and solid voice acting complete the package. This game has tons of ridiculous set pieces.

Berry Bury Berry Switch eShop

sublimesunset is a fan of Get(Color)'s "juicy first-person incremental game about growing berries and tossing them down an ominous hole."

Berry Bury Berry is a highly addictive incremental game with a hidden dark side beneath it's pastel-clad pastures, slowly but surely feeding the hole and increasing the scope of the world and your bury collecting abilities whilst uncovering the mystery of a cancelled children's television program is incredibly satisfying.

Birth Switch eShop

Roger Maldonado wants to highlight Madison Karrh's Birth, which came to Switch in 2024:

Birth is a chill, somewhat Burton-esque puzzler where you go into various city streetscape locales filled with anthropomorphized skeletal birds and the like and solve puzzles to recover body parts to build a friend. The puzzles are fun, with limited wordless hints given that mature then engaging without being overly challenging; the world is captivating; and the music perfectly complements the vibe. Strong recommend.

Cabernet Switch eShop

Munchlax recommends Party for Introverts' Cabernet:

A narrative adventure game based around vampires in revolutionary Russia and their secret (and literal) blood trading industry. Features a Persona style calendar and social link system, Mass Effect style story decisions with scaling morality stats, and full voice acting.

Call of the Elder Gods Switch 2

Munchlax is also into Out of the Blue's Call of the Elder Gods:

The sequel to Call of the Sea, a 3D first person puzzle adventure with a satisfying but not overwhelming difficulty. Graphically rough, however, even in the Switch 2 version.

Chrono Ark Deluxe Edition Switch eShop

Thrussted was taken with Alfine's Chrono Ark which came to Switch in January:

Chrono Ark is a roguelike deck-building RPG with party-based combat and a strong story focus. You control Lucy, a girl who wakes up in a strange world called the Ark, where memories are broken and reality is unstable. She gathers allies, each with unique skills, cards, and personalities, to fight monsters and uncover the truth behind the world’s collapse. Battles use turn-based card strategy, where teamwork and deck choices matter. As you progress, runs change each time, mixing random events, upgrades, and permanent discoveries with emotional character stories and mystery.

Dadish 4 Switch eShop

FishyS is flying the flag for Thomas K. Young's Dadish 4:

Dadish 4 is, as expected, the sixth game in the Dadish Series. Anyone who enjoys funny cute short platformers with a smidge of challenge but nothing crazy will enjoy this game. The major twist is that the father radish has been kidnapped and it is up to the eldest child radish (disturbingly named Dadish Junior) to save the day. The gameplay is much like previous 2D entries in the series but the level design is the best of the bunch.

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked Switch 2

Gage has been digging DXD&D:B:

I just have to give a shoutout to demeo x dungeons and dragons: battlemarked. There's a lot going in this game, so here's a simple explanation: think dungeons and dragons, but all your actions are determined by cards you have in your hand. It's got full cross platform play support, which is appreciated for any Multiplatform multiplayer game. The devs have also been pretty good about supporting it with more characters to play as and more campaigns to go through. Highly recommend for anyone that wants a good co-op game with friends, though single player is an option as well.

Double Dragon Advance Switch eShop

Kevin takes things back to the Game Boy Advance with Double Dragon:

I like to recommend Double Dragon Advance. This is a straight port from the GBA game released back in the early 2000s. It is the perfect way to play the classic beat em up.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE5 for Nintendo Switch 2 Switch 2

roy130390 has two recommendations, the first being Earth Defense Force 5.

EDF5 is one of the best multiplayer experiences and the closest to Helldivers 2 that we'll probably get.

EGGCONSOLE Zanac Ex MSX2 Switch eShop

Joao Mota gives the expansive EGGCONSOLE library some love:

There's no shortage of great shmups on the Switch. What's so great about Zanac Ex? It's immediately accessible but deep with scoring options. This makes it refreshingly different from other shmups of the era like R-Type or Gradius in terms of frustration and difficulty. There’s fun for all sorts of players regardless of skill level. While not visually impressive (although the speed is technically impressive) in terms of gameplay, as soon as your mind and fingers meld to just focus on avoiding and shooting, this is one of those games that I have been finding infinitely replayable.

Flamecraft Switch eShop

tapdancingtommy keeps the flame burning for Monster Couch's most recent release:

Flamecraft, released in September, is the latest in a line of incredible Tabletop games getting digital versions from expert developers in the genre, Monster Couch (Wingspan, Quilts and Cats of Calico). Similar to those other releases, the game looks and plays great for new players to Flamecraft, and those that have played the board game. It looks great, and is also rich with gamer friendly features like online and crossplay.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Legendary Edition Switch 2

And the second rec from roy130390: Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.

Both [this and Earth Defense Force 5 are] fantastic games and really good Switch 2 ports. Granblue is probably the beefiest fighting game that we have on the console right now.

Marsupilami 2 - Salsa Palombia Switch

Another one from tapdancingtommy, DKC lovers should take note:

Marsupilami 2 - Salsa Palombia is the recently released sequel to the equally underrated original. This series is based on a relatively unknown Belgian comic, but this game belongs next to both Rayman Legends and Donkey Kong Country TF as one of the best 2D platformers of the last decade or so. Beginner friendly, but packed with advanced gameplay for those that want it, co-op, and excellent music/visuals. Don’t miss this one!
