Re: Limited Run Games Showcase To Feature "20+ New Digital And Physical Announcements"

MadmanMike

Think the last time I bought anything from them was their recent Blowout sale at the beginning of the year. I missed out on a game I was wanting so I got another barely and two blind boxes. I still don’t know why I keep getting the blind box since it is usually something that is worth much less than what I paid for.
I do like that they have the pre order window but man that wait is forever feeling. I only buy now if the title hits BestBuy. Still waiting on Contra Collection to surface there.

Re: Uh Oh, It Looks Like The Mario Movie Blu-ray Steelbook Release Date Leaked

MadmanMike

I do enjoy buying DVDs and Blu-ray’s once in a while for some reasons. 1). Having a young kid. The internet goes down and they want to watch their favorite show, boom got the disc.
2) Can rip the disc and put on a network drive for viewing wherever you want it to.
3). Streaming service are not always consistent in quality and will eventually drop shows due to licensing.
Not a fix all but works for me in some cases.

Re: Bowser Defends $70 Zelda Pricing, Nintendo Still "Very Bullish" About Switch

MadmanMike

$70 is not a surprise this day and age with all the amount of developers put on these games to make them triple AAA.
RPGs in the 90s were this price or higher and had way less people on them with far less game play times. Not saying it’s ideal but it’s they way things are for big games especially without micro transactions to back it up.
The ones that play their games digital only are the lucky ones since they can use vouchers to make it $50.

Re: Frustrated Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Players Are Reportedly Getting Refunds

MadmanMike

Only had it crash on me once further into the game. I get the frame rate drop from items in the distance. It is the same kid Arceus had and SMT V had. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of SMT V performance.
Not trying to defend S/V as it did need more time to bake. Going the route of Disney trying to pump out 3 big titles in a year is not always the best move. It just comes down to Nintendo wanting a big title game out for the holidays since BotW 2 got pushed back. Otherwise that would of been it, just with much less sales.

Re: Mario Kart Tour To Remove Gacha Elements Next Month

MadmanMike

This would be a move in a positive direction. The idea of loot boxes with odds are starting to see places like Europe crack down on them. Nintendo is just trying to buck that part a little and still have a store that will be able to use real money in it but you know what you get.

Re: Video: Oh No, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Has Been Delayed To 2023

MadmanMike

Zelda always has a delay of some form. I think when they announce things too early is a problem player wise. Look at Prime 4, that is a literal running joke and the amount of wait will not recover that one as Metroid is usually not a extreme high seller, Dread excluded.
The very early announcement was just for a stockholder speculation. If stocks did drop due to the delay, then that can make sense as they meant that for a possible Christmas hitter.

I accept delays as I bore of day one updates and super glitchy games that have to be patched constantly due to being rushed.

Re: Poll: What's The Worst Legend Of Zelda Game?

MadmanMike

Went with Triforce Heroes, Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass. The two later I never actually beat because it was heavily rinse repeat and had to use the stylus to move everywhere. If a function is needed such as using a stylus or motion control gimmick, I think it is just a barrier for me to enjoy.

Zelda 2 getting a hard vote as it got?? Wow.

That game would be a top 5 good Zelda for me. The RPG elements was great. I could see the difficulty gripe with having lives but it wasn’t totally unfair. Just had to really learn it.

Re: Rumour: Chrono Trigger Sequel Chrono Cross Might Be Getting A Remaster

MadmanMike

This game was ok to play back when it came out. The draw of it was multiple characters being available. I put many hours into it and almost completed it but didn’t as it fatigued me. It is one of those “You must beat multiples times to complete 100%” games.
The soundtrack was insanely good and I think I may still have the CD that came with it??

I would be more impressed if they did it as a proper Chrono double pack remaster and look good and not like a mobile game.

But as much as I played it before, I am good without it returning.

Re: Random: A Signed Copy Of Shigeru Miyamoto's 1989 Business Card Has Gone Missing, And The Owner Wants It Back

MadmanMike

Neat story how he got it but I am in the eh thought about it. The guy realized he could make money off of something then got fleeced by a rando auction house…(heritage auction perhaps?). I dunno, it’s like the person selling the Sony snes a year ago and got pissed it didn’t go for more because they got greedy and didn’t take the initial offers.

Re: SNES Classic Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja Is Getting A Proper Remake On Modern Consoles

MadmanMike

I loved the original when it came out in the arcade and SNES. I didn’t realize there was a demand for a new one. Must be due to the IP and license being so dirt cheap.
It looks like a mobile game with the graphic style.
If they had it where you could unlock the pixel style for game play similar to Wonder Boy, that would be neat. The Switch already has SNES and arcade versions available so no need to load those onto it. Price it at $14.99, that’s fair.
