Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Five More Titles

MadmanMike

For the complainers,
Why these titles? They are very cheap licenses. Almost all these games many had not played before or heard of. What’s wrong with that? Seriously.
I heard of all of these except the last one on Famicom.
Magical Drop and Joe and Mac are perennials that always show up in Data East collections. Why? They are good games. The weak one for me is Baseball Sim 1.000. Think something like Super Baseball 2020 is a better title but I bet it’s cheaper to license Sim 1.000. I am glad it’s not just first party stuff only. That gets boring after the 8th time. Yes, there is many third party stinkers but still it’s welcomed to see things that would never had got the chance of day.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo To Reveal New Switch Model With Samsung OLED Display And 4K Support

MadmanMike

I know many want a bigger screen but really I never had too much issue with it currently. If anything the wideness of it can be annoying to me at times with button placements.
If anything the wish list for me in a pro is joycon durability, adding a first party joycon with a d pad.
I went back to my wii u the other day and realized how much I liked the game pad. Good weight and button placement.
Bumping the visual to FHD is good enough for me. Unless you are using a TV bigger than 55", 4k is pointless.
Add bluetooth support for headphones.
Likily the unit will be 2022 early. Doesn't have to be holiday season to come out..... Look at the Switch launch.

Re: Nintendo Shares Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond, And It's Looking Pretty Bare

MadmanMike

Kinda look at 2020 releases, that was slow. Animal Crossing was an unexpected hit. Without looking at a list I am having extreme trouble remembering any other first party games for that year...oh yeah a revamp Pikmin.
If they DID get in Zelda and Metroid by year end, that would be great. Or add in the GBA/GB to NSO.
They can have bangers all year round. You get Other M and 4 Swords...lol

Re: Random: This Tragic Tale Proves You Should Never Assume Your Parents Will Store Your Gaming Crap Forever

MadmanMike

Mom probably at one point said to come get the stuff. Probably didn’t understand how sealed items worked for appreciation value. Also parents don’t like buying something it just being put in a corner when it was meant to be played.
That sucks but the guy could of figured a way to get his stuff out of there less he was away in military or college. Otherwise, there is no other reason to leave it there.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

MadmanMike

US is getting the bad end of this so far. They know for a matter of limited that they will do there ever so famous product scarcity tactic and never do a preorder like everywhere else in the world. Sure, I could order the Japanese one but it’s the point.
It’s the NES classic all over again or the Mario pins. Guess I will be rotting at Target that morning or Best Buy. Walmart will not have them ready till later in the day if not the next day.

Re: Guide: 8 Steps To Making Your Gaming Backlog A Thing Of The Past

MadmanMike

Switch is a devil for creating massive backlogs. I noticed it more in the past year since year three really ramped up the offerings.
I try buying physical only as much as I can and that is overwhelming at times also.
Sales will happen for most major publishers all the time especially Black Friday holidays.
My current stack is about 15 games. Giving them about three hours in each is the way that works for me. Tell if I will like it or just catalogue it.

Re: Soapbox: Why A Nintendo 64 Classic Edition Might Not Be Such A Good Idea

MadmanMike

I would rather see a cart version on Switch with a compilation of 8-12 games. I think that it would be received better this way than with a mini.
The mini would need to be a custom board for it since N64 was a more sophisticated machine. Multiplayer would be ideal for the Switch cart, especially with the new online service coming. Tie In??

Re: Mega Man 2 And X Are Getting Limited Edition Cartridges And We Want Them All

MadmanMike

I love the series but to a point. If these had more on the cartridge to make it unique besides the shell, it would be easier to swallow. The packaging is what has to sell this for a collector with a FOMO attitude.
Agree with many. Rather have original game, manual, box for cheaper than those.
They are cool looking granted. Multi cart 1-9, then we will talk.

Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Switch)

MadmanMike

Great game. My wife loves the Country series. We have it on WiiU. Don't know about buying it again on Switch. This will be many peoples chance to finally play this that skipped the WiiU. I feel that around Christmas time, it will likely drop and will wind up on a Selects type of circuit that makes it cheap. Might buy then....especially physical copy.
