It's like these sets are designed to entice scalpers.
Scalpers ahoy!!
Scalpers just foaming at the mouth and pitching tents in their pants... smh
Just reissue the booster packs we all bought from newsagents as kids
@RupeeClock Well, us normies are F'd.
As angry as I would like to be with TPCi, from what I have read they have been ramping up production more and more. But they still haven't been able to get back to a point where scalpers don't just buy everything.
It's not quite as bad as a couple months ago, but it's still nearly impossible to find cards on shelves at RRP. Not impossible but pretty close still.
I think they should make a self-sabotaging set, where it’s all good cards, making them so common, they lose value.
Maybe that would help decrease scalping.
Already sold out.
Bold move! Same day as Metroid Dread. I guess I’ll pick up a pack or two in store getting my copy of Dread.
Still got my original Charizard. So it'll be worth even more now there are these inferior new prints floating about, right?
In a way, scalpers are buying everything at normal price.
If you think about it, TPC is making a huge pile of money out of scalpers. Normal players, whatever
It's a shame my kids won't be able to get any because of jackass scalpers out there.
@Bobb It's not sustainable though. There's a growing number of players who are getting fed up with the situation. Not everyone can afford to be spending anywhere from 10% to 250% over retail price. And even many of the people who can don't want to. It really kills a lot of the appeal. If I didn't know that TPCi was trying to fix this and still thought they were sitting back wiping their butts with 100 dollar bills, then I'd be furious with them and refusing to buy cards ever again.
Something Something scalpers
@ChromaticDracula Hope you're going when the store opens.
@jbarry25 I know right?
I think if you want these cards you have to preorder them as soon as the pages go up. I don't know where people find out when that is but I'm always late to the chase
@Landanceo same… it says releasing in October, but I’m sure they’ll be listed online early and be sold out within seconds…
@jbarry25 Yup I had tabs opened up on the pokemon center site for the oversized Blastoise and Venusaur cards and refreshed whenever I remembered. I did this for over a month I think then finally gave up and closed them. It was like taking weight off my shoulders and I've moved on realizing it's not worth it anymore haha!
man if only i wasnt an idiot child 20 years ago and sold my cards for next to nothing.
@ChromaticDracula lol there haven't been pokemon packs on shelves in a year
@akamu @RhiannonRune LOL Come on, one can dream!!
I actually had good luck recently; I took my brother-in-law to get some pokemon cards at some Wal-Mart in the middle of Arkansas (don't ask... It was a family trip and well... sometimes you have to do weird things for family--like going to the middle of Arkansas.)
We were able to find a bunch, dare I say unsurprisingly. I ended up buying a single pack with Celebi on the front for myself and got a ton of foil cards in it. Pretty neat.
Anyway, yeah I know... They're so hard to come by these days. I wish I just kept my originals from back in the day instead of donating to family...
Like I said, sometimes we do weird things for family.
