Re: Transformers: Battlegrounds Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer, Digital Deluxe Edition Revealed

@arrmixer There have been a few. The War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron games were pretty good and I'd say "Transformers Prime: The Game" on DS/Wii/WiiU is somewhat of a hidden gem - terribly short, but pretty well put together.

"Transformers: Animated" on DS was a good "Lost Vikings" clone.

And "Transformers" on PS2 (the one based on the TF Armada series) was great as well.

And there was also a previous turn-based title on mobile phones - Transformers G1 Awakening that was pretty addicting and I quite enjoyed it.

@Oncie, I never said it was challenging. I quoted the "boring and unfair". And it is boring. While HK has a very nice artstyle, there were very few rooms in the game that I found interesting.

As for unfair - there were a few areas, which feature downright cheap enemy placement. An early area where the exploding enemies appear (for the first time I believe) comes to mind.

It's not a terrible game, by any means, but the praise it's getting makes it sound like it's one of the best Metroidvanias out there when it really isn't.

Re: Inti Creates Announces Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 For Nintendo Switch

Funny, I just had a Gunvolt marathon this week, as I'd previously only played the first game and the two "Mighty Gunvolts".

In all honesty, while I was thrilled with it when it came out on the 3DS, replaying it now on the Switch...the first game has not aged well and leaves a lot to be desired, especially in terms of level design - something that the second game improves slightly. Though the new difficulty settings were welcome, these two are still mostly meant for score-hunters it seems.

"Luminous Avenger iX" was a whole different story though - easily the best out of the bunch, with vastly improved level design and streamlined mechanics.

Looking forward to both this and "Curse of the Moon 2", though Bloodstained is definitely higher on my list.

Re: Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade And Console Bring More Shmup Action To Switch eShop On 16th June

Imported the standard physical edition from Japan over a year ago, so I'm mostly good. To be honest, I'm not in love with these games, but I do thing Darius Gaiden was worth it for sure. When Strictly Limited announced the physical editions, I really wanted to snag the CE, mostly for the CDs and artbook, but it was just too expensive. I only ordered the standard console collection, to go along with the JP release of the arcade games.

These are the games that made me love RPGs, a genre I'd mostly stay away from. Playing the first XC on the Wii is a summer I'll never forget!
Then the hype and anticipation for XCX - ever since the first trailer that sent absoulte chills down my spine, I knew that'd be a Day 1 game. Little did I know that finding it would turn into a quest itself. And they, getting it and having to keep it sealed on the shelf for 6 months, until I wrapped up my final semester at university so I can really immerse myself in it.

XC2, was also a day-1 purchase, but unfortunately, it left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. While the gameplay and the environments were as beautiful as ever, I really didn't enjoy the humour and a lot of the character designs, which easily made it the weakest game of the bunch for me. Not bad by any means, just not exactly what I was hoping for. But I did get Torna too and liked it a lot, for the most part.

My CE of the Definitive Edition should finally be here tomorrow and I cannot wait to revisit Shulk and friends - first time I'll ever be replaying a game that's THIS long. But won't be the last if they do port over XCX to the Switch, as that one was my favourite!

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition - A Timely Update Of One Of The Greatest RPGs Ever

Mach_Rider

Cannot wait for my CE!! This is the game that made me start liking RPGs! It's gonna take an extra week or so for the middle-man service from the UK to get it to me, but better have a secure copy and wait a bit than risk it with the only local retailer that had pre-orders up for like...a few hours.

Playing the original on Wii back in 2013-2014 was one of the best gaming experiences (and summers) I'd had.

Re: Limited Run Is Releasing Both Blaster Master Zero Games In Physical Form On Nintendo Switch

Mach_Rider

I love the games, but come on?! Separate releases at $35 each?! That's a terrible decision...

I love the CE, don't get me wrong (though I'd have preferred an artbook instead of the NES carts, even though I love their cover art) and the CDs should've definitely been in jewelcases instead of cardboard sleeves...

Much as I love these two games, I believe this will be a skip from me. I'll just get the vinyl boxset whenever BigWax release it in Europe.
