My body is ready.
Welcome back Turrican.
ININ Games' publications are confusing, they really are.
These games were awesome. Turrican 2 on amiga CD is probably my favorite of the bunch.
Wth??? Ok obviously buying this then the combined price of the 2 other compilations was way too much and I have no need for directors cuts or whatever. Awesome!
But which versions of Turricans are they going to be? Or are they all going to be re-worked? If these versions are going to be the C64 versions, my other pre-orders are going to be cancelled
I already bought these earlier, so i will wait for sale.
Mega Turrican is Turrican 3 Amiga btw.
@Bunkerneath Looking at the video, the 2 first have to be Amiga versions which is great.
There is no way they were gonna choose C64 over Amiga versions.
Too bad they chosed Mega Turrican over Turrican 3 Amiga as Amiga version had better sound.
I loved these as a kid, but €30 seems rather steep to me but I’m sure plenty will buy it (I’ll wait for the inevitable 50% off a couple of months down the line)
I will definitely pick this up as it will probably cover my Turrican needs, but it's a shame it doesn't include Turrican 3 or Super Turrican 2. The other collections are more complete but are sadly very expensive given that they're split across two releases rather than on a single cartridge (these games would all fit onto one 8GB cartridge).
@BionicDodo Mega Turrican is actually console version of Turrican 3 on Amiga.
Mega version have better gfx, but worse sound quality.
Also. The lightning is replaced with a rope or something.
I like how the press text promotes the shovelware machine Ratalaika to "preservation specialists". LOL.
Much at happier at this price point. In no way did the other collections need to be in two volumes.
Looks neat. I have no experience with these games at all, but it looks like Mega Man, Contra, Metroid, and R-Type walked into a bar and danced to techno music.
Why no Super Turrican 2? The incompleteness bugs me so much...
@Ventilator Yeah, I think I knew that. Maybe. Anyway, with subtly different versions etc. it should all be available on one cartridge.
arent there enought broken joycons in the world
And when will they make a Turican Flashforward? With this revenue?
Right on the day I break up for Christmas!! Yep part of my xmas gaming here and if Konami etc could release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in time (SNES version) as well....... Perfect start to xmas for me!!!
@BionicDodo Yeah. The games is only less than 1.MB each.
There is room for 16000 Turrican games on one cart...Each cart only have 2.MB used. Maybe a bit more for some switch code.
Turrican 3 Amiga version and Super Turrican 2 should have been included too.
Shame the C64 versions I want aren't available, but I'll probably pick these up in a sale.
@Ventilator Why choose Amiga over C64 when both could be included?
One of the best series of game to grace the Amiga , the c64 versions were awesome too. Definitely worth picking up🤪
@Antiriad2097 Yeah. They should have included all versions at this price.
Oh Yeah I'm getting this! Love turrican
Amiga Turrican 2 is 1 of my favourite games ever. I am a huge fan of all the Turrican games. This collection is worth the money. Yes it's missing Super Turrican 2 (Wii vc copy still works) and c64 versions (amazing versions by the way) and it's cheaper than the 2 anthology collections. £20 at base.com. Box art is poor though.
Yup, I've watched this trailer three times now in less than 5 minutes and I've pre-ordered the game. Now I have to wait just a little bit over a month. Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting.
Btw, can we have Turrican in Smash please, that would be so awesome.
Now, I'm gonna watch the trailer again.
The contra collection has raised the bar for these types of collections for me. GB, NES, SNES , MD and Arcade games all there, some nice extra content and all that for a very low price. So yeah, having a bit more versions such as C64 T1 & 2 probably should be included at this price. I’ll still buy this day 1 as at least it has 4 games I really want but yeah, missed opportunity to make it really special
Physical? Thats nice !
Edit: Aaand preordered
It's a ok collection. The physical was way over priced. I would have paid half that for them. As for this is it not physical so I will wait for a sale as it is still overpriced. $19.99 price tag maybe would be good.
Out of the blue this. Woah. GameBoy nemories.
@Ventilator yeah I was proper excited when limited run was announced and then so turned off by the two cart and price and then this comes and it all feels like a con. But I’ll pick this version up because it’s better than nothing. They should have given us one version with multiple versions of more of the titles. No excuse really. Greedy and lazy at the same time. Same with the Space invaders collection for £40 I’m gonna pick up both budget versions
Already pre-order the two Turrican physical collection so I'll skip the digital releases. Guess they're selling the ones in volume 1 for now with volume 2 coming once the physical edition releases.
@Ventilator They probably releasing those in volume 1 first, Turrican Anthology volume 2 contain the C64 and Super Turrican 2.
I know it's probably the worst version but I had Universal Soldier as a kid, loved it. I'm up for a trip down memory lane.
I'm confused. Is this the announcement 8f a retail and not limited version of the collection or just its arrival to the eShop?
@Moroboshi876 Looks like the difference from the "limited" versions is that this is leaving out ST: Director's Cut, ST2, Turrican 3 and the score-attack versions.
Super Turrican is probably the SNES version, but wasn't the NES version sort of its own thing, or was it just a port of a different game?
The franchise is a bit confusing, especially with in the 16-bit era there were a couple rebranded ports (like the canceled Universal Soldier which had a movie license slapped on).
@KingMike NES Super Turrican's a bit of an enigma, as it takes some levels from Turrican 1 and 2 and heavily modifies them, along with adding its own flairs (such as music from Enforcer, a C64 game Manfred Trenz did in 1992).
Looks like I'll be cancelling the Limited Run Games version i pre-ordered then! A bit confused as to why there is two competing versions by these two companies though... money money money!! Edit; I'm still hoping for C64 as Easter eggs/unlockables
Looking forward to playing some Amiga games again.
Keep these retro gems coming
Yessssss. COME ON.
@Johnno137426 I'm pretty sure ININ are involved in both, SLG just has only their logo on the limited edition box art for some reason
Finally the Turrican games are gonna be re-released. Can't belive it took so long. Especially Turrican II is an amazing game to me and it has my favourite soundtrack of all time.
I remember playing the original Turrican on Sega Genesis. I played it so many times. It can be pretty addictive.
@Retro_Player_77 I think this is a one time thing, but time will tell if there is more.
They anounced a new "Turrican 64" for Nintendo 64 over 20 years ago, but sadly never got anything after Turrican 3.
@Stocksy Yeah. They should have included all versions, and called it the ultimate "Turrican Collection" or something.
Skipping Turrican 3 on Amiga were a bad move.
I will get the collection digitally on sale, but i need to see if it's missing something vs physical ones first.
It's a sloppy release like the recent Pikmin 3, Mario 3D World and Mario All-Stars.
I tried the new Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Demo, but the frame rate is so poor than i won't buy it on day 1. Need to see if they fix the frame rate before i get it.
It's like sloppy overpriced releases is a thing again like the poor last gen ports to Xbox One and PS4 in year 2013-2015.
So...first the 2 separate collections from Strictly Limited and now this - a single, much cheaper collection...doesn't seem to have all the versions those two releases have, but it instead includes some other quality-of-life extras...
Oh well...will take a deeper look and might cancel my pre-order for those if this ends up being the better release...but I'll probably stick with those as they also include Turrican 3 and some other versions...
You'd think it wouldn't be THAT difficult to just put all versions of the games on a single cart...
Anyone know when this is going to be released now? Was hoping this would sneak on the e-shop today as per this article but it doesn’t look good right now
so, yeah, where is this game?
edit: Just visited their website and they’re advertising a Cotton remake. Sweet.
