The Splatoon 3 Direct has revealed a series of new amiibo to accompany Nintendo's upcoming game. The new collection will consist of three figures: Inkling (yellow), Octoling (blue) and Smallfry, and will be arriving "this holiday".
Approaching Splatsville's large amiibo box, as shown in the Direct, you can scan your Splatoon 3 amiibo figures to gain a variety of clothing functions.
The biggest takeaway from this is the ability to store whole outfits together. Ever wanted your avatar to be dressed exactly like your amiibo? A simple scan will allow you to save their gear combinations as Fresh Fits so you can easily swap out your look.
On top of this quick-change wardrobe, the new amiibos will also come with exclusive gear, so you can get your inky hands on certain items that will seemingly be impossible to come by otherwise.
Once you are all dressed up and ready to hit Splatsville, you will be able to grab in-game photos with your amiibo in a variety of poses (we expect to see the new dab emote used frequently in these selfies, even if dabbing seems a bit old hat in 2022). Wearing the exact same clothes as your amiibo and then snapping up photos together? Now that's what we call #Twinning. Oh yes!
Aside from this new collection, some Splatoon 2 amiibo figures will be relaunching in line with the new game's release. These re-releases will include the Callie and Marie two-pack as well as the Pearl and Marina two-pack for $24.99 each. The three new figures will be available in a pack or individually for $15.99 (or your regional equivalent).
The game is launching on 9th September, while the new amiibo are lined up for release "this winter", so there'll be a bit of a wait before you can get your hands on these NFC figures.
Which of the new amiibo are you shooting for first? Let us know in the comments below!

oh YES!!!! Great...I need these amiibo plus I never got pearl and marina ones, so will pick those up too! I love the Splatoon amiibo collection, they look so cool and edgy on my shelf
I've got the previous amiibo, so I'll be buying just the new ones.
I stopped collecting amiibo pretty soon after they started releasing them (no space for stuff like that) but I'll need to get my hands on the exclusive gear, one way or another.
So...you pay expensive to have more clothes and etc... i kind of expensive DLC...
Excellent! Will 100% be picking these up, and the subsequent Deep Cut set I'm sure will happen
@Rykdrew pretty sure 99% of people buy these for the figure not the random bit of cosmetics that comes with it.
I just want my Sora amiibo
@Rykdrew This is not a new concept for Splatoon, and other games like Breath of the Wild. I’s been like that since the first game on WiiU.
Not planning to pick up Splatoon 3 but I might buy the Off the Hook two pack. Kind of forgot those were a thing.
All I'm getting is the small fry cause I've always thought they were adorable.
No interest in Splat 3, but definitely getting these amiibos. They look great!
Finally, a Salmonid amiibo. Now when is the Deep Cut amiibo three pack?
I love these Amiibo. They look so cool.
@Ogbert a kind of expensive Funko micro size?
If I could get Smallfry on his own, I absolutely would. The other two are fantastic as well, but how could you say no to such a precious face?
I want all three.
@Rykdrew Way better quality than a Funko Pop. Also they actually look like the characters, not a weird square-headed, dead-eyed, 'need to poop' squat rendition of the character.
As collectable figures go, Amiibo are quite small but generally very high quality and inexpensive. If your only point of reference is Funko Pops, you should look at Nendoroids, Figma, Fig-arts and then the crazy stuff like F4F's giant resin statues. Funko Pops really are bottom of the barrel stuff.
Honestly, I’m kind of surprised they’re still doing amiibo figures.
I loathe that preset gear sets are continued to be locked behind amiibo. They're not quicker to find the right amiibo and scan than it is to access through a list in-game.
Oo, another chance to get Pearl and Marina, nice. I'm sure Deep Cut will appear as well.
Nice set. Will look nice next to my Splatoon 2 triple pack.
@Ogbert Thanks for the explanations. I've never seen an Amiboo in front of me. Just on Internet. I don't spend money on this kind of product. But I did understand. It's like "collectible cards" only they're dolls. I'm old for these things, but I understand. Thanks
I want the Inkling figure, she's a badass.
Good to see Splatoon supporting amiibo.
Every time I think i can walk away from amiibo. Here they come with more I need to buy.
I need that small fry
I think I got most of the Amiibos for Splatoon now...
Will definitely be picking the 3-pack up as the only actual amiibo I've got right now are Samus from Smash 4 and the 35th anniversary Mario which are both lost in a cupboard somewhere and I already have all the Splatoon (and Zelda) amiibo on NFC cards
I want Big Man
